This is the first Zoo that I have completed since I gave up on ZT2 when the extinct Animals expansion was released about two years ago.. It is just a small Cat sanctuary dedicated to the welfare of some magnificent felines, and hidden away, deep in the heart of the Tropical Rainforest. It is currently the home of: 2x Brazillian Jaguars 2x White Bengal Tigers 2x Black African Leopards 2x Javan Leopards 2x Sumatran Tigers 2x Florida Panthers And a host of birds in the wetlands zone such as Greater Flamingo, White Stork, Lesser Adjutant, Sacred Ibis, Abdims Stork, Pelican and Jabiru. The Cat Sanctuary Entrance framed by superb Mango trees: ![]() A Panoramic view across the Sanctuary, showing the Wetlands zone running through the middle of the Sanctuary, and at the far side of the Sanctuary are the Jaguar & Tiger enclosures.. ![]() Another Panoramic shot. This time the photo is taken from above the Bengal Tiger enclosure, and looks across towards the Borneo Clouded Leopards on the opposite side of the Sanctuary.. ![]() This Panoramic shot is taken from above the wetlands enclosure of the Florida Panthers, and showing on the right, the enclosure of the Borneo Clouded Leopards, and in the distance the enclosure for the Javan Leopards... ![]() And finally, this panoramic shot, shows the African Leopards enclosure, and the waterfall that is the source of the Wetlands zone which runs through the heart of the Cat Sanctuary.. ![]() I hope that you like, and would appreciate your comments, either good or bad.... DOWNLOADS NEEDED: There are just too many items from Sophie & Shen to list them all individually, so I would suggest you visit their websites and DL all the Aviaries, Fences, Reskins, Signposts, Elevated Pathways, Tanks etc etc. Everything that these two designers create is absolutely superb.... Sophie - http://sites.google.com/site/rubensophiedesigns/ Shen - http://sites.google.com/site/shensden/ Also, DL the excellent Island Excursions pack by Artifex, as there is lots of their foliage used in this zoo and of course, the Borneo Clouded Leopard. Artifex - http://sites.google.com/site/artifexhome/i...sions-download/ Three of my absolute favourite trees for ZT2 have been created by Penguinman, these are the Brazillian Wax Palm, the Indian Mango and the Tamarind. I squeeze these into just about any zoo that I make, and they look great in any tropical biome, so always worth adding these to your DL list. Penguinman Foliage - http://sites.google.com/site/penguinpeak/foliage Penguinman ES Pathway - http://sites.google.com/site/penguinpeak/m...-elevated-paths I have also used the Cashew Nut and Guava trees from the excellent Tamarin pack on ZTABC. Although I didn't use the Tamarins in this zoo, they are well worth having available in the future, DL this very nice pack here: http://zootycoonabc.de/include.php?path=do...&contentid=2192 |

So here we are as we enter into the Cat Sanctuary: The first thing that the visitor will notice, is the the walkway being lined by huge Mango, Guava, Orchid, Cashew and Brazil Nut trees... ![]() Of course, visitors are always delighted to see our beautiful Tiger fountain. A fitting tribute to these magnificent big cats that live so happily in the Sanctuary... ![]() However, the first of the Sanctuary's residents that we come across are the Brazilian Jaguars, and these are arial shots of their Jungle home.... ![]() And these are the Jaguars. Firstly is proud father, Django with his small cubs... ![]() The youngsters now share a tender moment with Velez, their beautiful mother.... ![]() |

After we have spent some time observing the Jaguars, we stroll along to the next enclosure, which is home to Indira & Khan. These are our magnificent white Bengal Tigers, and there is great excitement at the Sanctuary because Indira has recently given birth to two gorgeous cubs... ![]() We are very lucky to witness Indira & Khan playing with their youngsters in one of the cool Jungle pools in their enclosure... ![]() Whoever said that cats don't like water had obviously never seen this Tiger family having fun. ... |

With two such beautiful creatures it is difficult not to take more photos of them. Firstly Khan & Indira are relaxing, and hiding from the fierce tropical heat by taking some quiet time together in the cool shade of DA fern trees.. ![]() Second photo is of a big cat in her prime, and she knows it. Indira, the Queen of the Jungle.. ![]() |

And so our guided tour takes us into the Sanctuary's Wetlands habitat which acts like a magnet to many exotic birds.. At the heart of the Wetlands, is this magnificent waterfall, the source of the fresh water springs that dissect the Sanctuary.... ![]() Jabiru Stork wade in the waters beneath the waterfall..but even these huge Storks are dwarfed by the gigantic Wax Palms... ![]() European White Stork are a seasonal migrant from Poland, the Abdim's Storks are migrants too, but they head here from Southern Africa. A Visitor's decorative viewing platform is also captured in this photo.... ![]() |

A group of Abdim's Stork stake a claim to the small bamboo island..![]() They don't stay for long though, as Lesser Adjutant barge their way in.. ![]() ![]() Finally, as the day draws to a close, and as the Storks set to roost, we decide that we must return tomorrow to see the remainder of the Sanctuary..

Light thinks it travels faster than anything but it is wrong. No matter how fast light travels, it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it.![]() If you want a banner like mine, then click on the banner to visit my graphics thread. | |

Thanks for the comments guys... I might have to end the S&T there though, because when I entered CU this morning to continue, it seems that overnight my S&T has been deleted.... :sniffle: EDIT: No I was wrong...!! The S&T is still available to copy across....
