Saphron wildlife park
a world of adventure

Posted Image

Saphron wildlife park is a zoo founded by various charities to
protect and re-hibilitate the planets wildlife.
The zoo is found in alabama though
unfortunatley a recent hurricane left the zoo to rubble
it was so unexpected they had no time to remove the animals
it was a disaster many animals perished and the remaining ones had to be sold
though recently the zoo manager has gathered his stalf to re build the zoo
and bring back the zoo spirit
they have been working for afew weeks and have managed to re-store
afew exhibits wich you will find out
about later but as you have voloutered to help
us in these hard times wee will take you around the zoo to show you what we've done

but to help us even more please donate your time
and post your thaughts about the zoo and any possible improvments
that could be made
remember a post to an s&t maker
is like a download to a designer without posts there is no point in me doing this.

pig tail macaques

Posted Image
the outdoor area
as you can see theres lots of trees for a troop os six to climb on
they were donated by a zoo in the south pacific called pavillion zoo
as they had a population over dose.

now once you've had a good look around come and have a look within there indoor house
Posted Image
its very narrow and when you meet the monkeys beware they don't have sharp
teeth for nothing!!!.

Posted Image
here we are as you can see we have elavated paths to keep are macaques happy
we also have food facilities in this area to

Posted Image
thats the alpha male we don't have any names for our troop
of 1 male and 5 females and i would happily listen to your suggestions

Posted Image
it looks like he's thirsty so lets get out his way he's very protective
over his food.

Posted Image
there is also more food in that area but lets have a look at some more exhibits
Posted Image
well as you can see its very hard to see them macaques in all this foilage so lets leave

be prepared you'll need a good
pair of wellies to go in the next one
its very boggy and muddy........

so what do you think do you like???? :hwink:
and remember our monkeys need names
and if you have any animals up for adoption
show them here remember to show a pic of them though and we
may take them of your hands

Roe deer and black grouse habitat

Posted Image
at the zoo we have 3 roe deer and 6 black grouse
the roe deer were captured from the wild for venison but were
taken by vets when the company closed they were lucky they were on the butchers waiting list the black grouse were donated by a sanctuary in scottland
called black grouse lodge they were chicks and had to be hand raised by are head keeper until we introduced them graduatly to there exhibit.

Posted Image

Joe is the name of are roe buck the females have no names so suggestions are much apperciated and wanted.Suprisingly the deer are not shy atall and hound guests/visitors for hand outs (food) and its becoming a problem but we are lucky to have them as children love to stroke them and watch them bound around there exhibits doing high jumps and flips like in a circus!!! :P

Posted Image

there is lots of foilage in the exhibit so if they wanted to hide they can though i doubt that will ever happen large flocks of starlings fly in at sunset to roost in the trees of there exhibit

Posted Image
here is a perspective view of the exhibit as you can see there is lots of foilage and much makes up the roe deers diet we feed them fruit and veg and somtimes milk as it reduces there stress if they ever need to go to the vets or move exhibit

Posted Image

the black grouse love there house being poor flyers like most game birds they spend lots of there time on the ground but they love to sun bathe on the roof of the bird house its very funny to watch them up there.

now lets move on to the next exhibit

we'll have to be careful as both the species in the next exhibit can charge
though we will have to wait and see.........

so did you like this update??? i can't wait to show you the next exhibit its one of my favouraites

Indian wetlands exhibit

Posted Image
the indian wetland exhibit is one of the most popular the foilage is great and the animals seem to love it just be careful

Posted Image
in the exhibit we have a herd of water buffulo we have a medium size herd
the bull is named darren and most off the females have no name

Posted Image
though this female does she is called lewise she is the youngest member of the herd

Posted Image
she loves to explore her exhibit and play in the water she loves to get stroked by guests to and is one of the keepers favouraites

Posted Image
she formed a special bond with tethriaka are indian rhino when the hurricane hit
she was only a calf her mother and father died but luckily she dident

Posted Image
she loves to graze on the grass in her exhibit and eats fruit and veg alongside it
the exhibit had to be re foilaged 3 times but she seems to be calming down
and just eats the fruit and veg rather than her exhibit

Posted Image
tethria has a special bond with the water buffulo and see's herself as one where ever they go she goes we are hoping to get a male indian rhino so if you have one please show me a pic and we will see if we will adopt it

Posted Image
the herd is very close to its keepers though they have injured one person twice
a long time ago darren escaped his exhibit keeper john ran after him and well darren charged and left john shocked and bleeding though john was fine after a week in hospital and still looks after darren as he knows
darren dident mean it as after darren licked john

Posted Image
on the far side of the exhibit near the monkey house is a large roofed area thats were they sleep

next time be prepared for the updated macaque enclosure and a bald red headed monkey enclosure,,,,,,,,,......

Bald uakari's exhibitation

Posted Image
Bald uakari are medium sized monkeys from South America.
They have bright red heads and are a very popular animal in the zoo,
there exhibit was made four weeks ago.

Posted Image
There exhibit is highly foilagiated with trees, grass and flowers
wich they enjoy up-rooting and consuming.

Posted Image
They have a huemungous outdoor climbing frame wich gives them a viewing point of the whole zoo.

Posted Image
Though birds are always nesting within the cracks and crevise's
wich is causing a problem with the structure.

Posted Image
The monkeys are highly acrobatic and are constantly climbing up and down trees
and climbing frames in there exhibit, there are fifteen in the troop and none have names so suggestions are very much welcomed.

ROCK HOPPER PENGUIN'S teaser

note they will have a bigger update soon and there exhibit has been darasticly modified and updated and looks a zillion times better
Posted Image

At the zoo we have just completed our rock hopper inclosure .
We purchased a huge flock from whipsnade zoo and already many
hens are pregnant wich you will read and see more about in a couple of
updates time

Posted Image

They are all charectors some are funny some are grouchy and some are
plain friendly. They are settling in to the zoo like stars though they seem to randomly flock together and parade around there exhibit wich is unusual.

The next update will be on a very special exhibit, the
zoo is ohnored to have.

PREZWALKI'S GAZELLE AND INDIAN RHINO

Posted Image

a new day has began and the male black grouse sends his call across the zoo as the day begins

Posted Image
Thethria has been transfered to a new exhibit with our prezwalki's gazelle and
our indian rhino's she needs to be with her own kind and this exhibit offers her
a chance to breed and live in a much larger exhibit, theres already afew quiries
that she maybe pregant.

Posted Image
Prezwalki's gazelle are the other inhabitants of this exhibit
they are criticly endangered and the zoo has one of the largest populations
and has enroled itself within a breeding programme
and are hoping to see the clipper clapper
of tiny hoof's on our turf.

Posted Image

There exhibit has lots of foilage and is a huge slope
the herd loves to graze on the fresh grass as you can see below

Posted Image

they eat the fresh lemon grass a native plant from india
we have a very large herd

Posted Image

Tethria often joins them though the gazelle keep right out her way a knock from her could leave the gazelle wounded or even worse dead

Posted Image

here is another pic of them from afar

Posted Image

and a pic from the helicopter
it also gives you an idea of the capacity of the exhibit and
the size of the herd

thats all for this update its quite a big one
next time you will see the improved buffulo exhibit and the calf
plus some more on the rock hopper's
anyway tell me you thaughts

As you turn around in the bend berrys begin to fall from the tree and the sweet smell of nectar tantalizes your longues giving you a slight burst if energy

Posted Image

you see the seats covered in flowers the fountains and children playing
the tree's brush against you as you walk on

Posted Image

when you sit on the bench your legs droop you relax close your eyes imagine you are inside Saphron zoo (really do this it makes you relax) you have been walking for hours your legs hurt though as you sit on the bench you feel revived and refreshed you look to the side and notice some lillies and a fresh smell of mint and rosemary fill your nose, close your eyes again imagine the sun beating on you and the calls of peacocks from the distance while frogs croak and the sound of birds and water leaks into your ears.

Posted Image
as you stand up from the bench you walk on somthing brushes your leg a large male peafowl steps out from the underbrush his bright metalic feathers glimmar in the light as sparkles of dust fade away into the shadows of the tree

Posted Image
you walk onwards your energetic legs carty you as if you were riding a horse
you spott ross lillies and rocks.

Posted Image

a waterfall water gushes out of it like lava gushes out a volcanoe
ash clouds is replaced by steam as the warm water avaporates into your face

please tell me what you think im beginning to believe that you think my work is rubish as hardly any people comment
and please do what it says like close your eyes and stuff it really does relax you (i hope)

and please tell me your thaughts i boldened the writing so its easier to read

rubbish left by guests

Posted Image

we have 12 but we could only find one for ya's this one is seen in the gardens
you can see in the last update he enjoys the shrubbery

Flamingo and sunbittern Paradise

The zoo has been under-construction for afew weeks hence the lack of updates
but we have finaly built the flamingo and sunbittern paradise
it was a hard struggle to find a flock big enough for our lake but finaly we have

Posted Image

Here is one side of the paradise as you can see its full of lush radiant foilage
Perfect for a flock of flamingo and a group of sunbittern's

Posted Image

Here is the other side it is still very rich and lush
The birds even have their own house just so the foxes cant catch them!! :P

Posted Image

The flamingo's love to stand by the sure in the hot afternoons in the shade of the palm tree's

Posted Image

As you can see the shore is filled with reeds and the water is choked with water lillies this place is a real paradise hence its name

Posted Image

Most of the flamingo's diet comes from the algae wich grows naturaly within the lake aswell as wild water shrimp so the keepers keep feeding to a minimum so they dont get overweight.

Posted Image

When the breeding season arives we hope the flamingo's use there beach the untidyness if for a driftwood and beach type effect.

Posted Image

At the moment they are not breeding and still geting used to there exhibit but atleast they are using it.

Posted Image

The sunbitern's are very shy we luckily spotted this one while it transfered from bush to bush as they always hidaway in the foilage
