Epic exhibits as always Feresa!!
I always like watching your S&T's. :)
Light thinks it travels faster than anything but it is wrong. No matter how fast light travels, it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it.

And I suck at updating when I say I will...

Okay, to business; firstly, the scrub exhibit in the last update has a couple new additions - western gray kangaroos.

Now with that announcement out the way lets get moving to the new section. It's this way past the forest habitat... and I'll call someone to get this critter put back where she belongs...

Posted Image
Past the steakhouse and the playground items is an exhibit featuring one of the strangest-looking animals on the planet, the platypus.

Moving along - windy path, isn't it?

Thanks! But we're not done yet. (;
We head down the path and that big marine exhibit catches your eye... you go up to it...
Posted Image
Closer inspection reveals it's inhabited by flatback turtles.
Posted Image
Behind you is the underwater view of the platypi pool...
Posted Image
Back up the hill, to an alternate viewing point for the turtle tank...

Still more to come...

@ cryptid9: Ran up and over the cliff barrier at the back of the exhibit, most likely.

Here be takahe... yes I know they're from New Zealand not Australia, but we weren't able to get any other Australian birds...

Put your feet up, check out the discovery kiosk thingie or buy souvenirs, the choice is yours.
Posted Image
No? Then lets backtrack a ways...
Posted Image
And see whats in exhibit number... 16 I think.
Posted Image
Pretty fountain..
Posted Image
and an exhibit full of striped possums. And that's also the end of River Zoo's showcase of Australian (and NZ) wildlife.
Posted Image

Oh, and here's the map of the whole zoo so far.
Posted Image

It occurs to me that we don't have any North American or African species in this zoo yet, so you can expect some of those next time...

I like how you used the same foliage over and over in the striped possum exhibit.

Wonderful Australian/New Zealander section.
