Where do you find something to talk about?

Whenever I meet new people, I find the problem of: What to talk about. To start it off though I talk about general things, but never get deeper than that. Where do you find a way to keep yourself interesting to people before you start being awkward in conversation?

Very good question Whir77. Hm. When you're talking with someone, you can keep yourself interesting by letting the conversation flow. Don't only talk about general things like their day and your day, expand your field of interest and knowledge so you will always have plenty to discuss. Talk about anything that comes into your mind, future careers, (not weather lol), movies, maybe sports, anything. It doesn't matter. It won't end up being awkward unless you make it awkward, and if you do, you will know. I hope my advice was legitimate, and if you have any other questions always feel free to ask. Do you need any more advice? ^_^

It is usually never awkward unless you make it... Whenever the person I talk to stops talking and there is a silence, I break it with something about herps or zoos.... Talk about what YOU like.... If they don't like what you like, then don't hang around them.
