MOVING HAIR?!

I'm still...not able to get in game, since...not only am I broke but now apparently I have an overdraft fee to pay D8

buuuut, I was watching the GR video, the newest one, and they were showing some player character clips.

I saw a very long, moving hairstyle on one of the females, and it wasn't on an NPC, so I'm thinking we might finally get moving hair >o>

You sure about that? The only characters that have moving hair in game are GW *SPOILERS* and her Praetorian.

Doubt we'll ever get moving hair anytime soon. Especially with how tacky it looks.

iiii saw it, and it wasn't on GW's praetorian either, it was long and reeeeaaally dark red, and...kind of looked like the glam style but ALOT longer.

Just watched the video you were talking about. That was Ghost Widow's Praetorian, aka Belladonna. She's a Resistance member, and the scene was a player character fighting her.

Ever been to Cimerora? You know the godawful lag that accompanies that third mission through the valley?

That's largely because of capes, which are graphically simple. Do you realize what the impact of having animated hair would be? The engine behind CoH is old, and never had that kind of thing in mind...in fact, I don't recall for certain if Aion has animated hair, and it has a BOAT LOAD of stuff the CoH engine can't handle.

Ghost Widow has always been special. ^_^

Actually, the capes aren't the problem so much as the tons and tons of ally-based auras that all the Cimerorans have.

Didn't Castle officially state that the capes are the issue, though, and that Lag Hill is so laggy because every Cimeroran has a cape?

Yes, he did Robot.

The over-lapping shield powers were just a popular community theory. It was definitively stated, oh, about six months ago.

The capes can't be the problem, for one simple reason.

The lag you see on the hill isn't graphical. It's server latency based. The server is either trying to send too much data to and from your client, or it's choking on its allotment of data to process.

If it was a graphical issue, the game would become a slideshow, not just unresponsive as is the case.

Um...Castle found out the problem, though. He tested it and everything, and it turns out the sheer amount of capes were causing the issue.
