Maybe they keep getting squished and shoved underneath people's dashboards as part of a mind game. :P

Or the abrupt spike in hits on matchbox Rivs has something to do with it??

I have a station wagon matchbox that's been squished... it was not a part of a nefarious scheme thou... my dad just ran over it lol

there are surprisingly quite a few Riv models out there... I've just been keeping an eye out for the green ones :)

is anyone interested in RCMP stuff? I have alerts set up for uniform patches and things... I could post them if I find them too

Not too sure how much luck you're likely to have there - the RCMP is very finicky about their uniform and its accoutrements being copied too closely, let alone sold in an online auction. But why not, just for the heck of it? If we ever do get a sometimes-mentioned cosplay group together at a major convention....

well I have seen them, I've been looking for patches and uniforms (which there's a million diff types, and I only want the ones that were used in the show)... just wasn't sure if anyone else would like them :P

this gorgeous diecast, 1/43 size, so a little larger than matchbox

I bought one of these from ebay for my daughter last year (not sure if it is original, or a copy - but if it's a copy then it looks authentic!) She sewed it onto the front of an old school PE sweatshirt - covering up the school logo - and wore it at the convention. :)

1967 navy peacoat, size men's 43?
Huh....my dad has one of those, albeit with flat plastic buttons with anchor logos on them. I should think it would be easy enough to find a fistful of brass buttons (if not ones emblazoned with the RCMP logo) and sew them on in place of those.

Come to think of it, I think I also have an old peacoat of the same style somewhere - used to wear it in high school a lot when I was coming to school dressed as Fraser pretty much every day. XD

I could actually prolly wear those size wise, but a) that's expensive, and b) the seller says they're made by William Scully Ltd, which I find strange, since the RCMP get their boots from Alberta Boot Co

I got my son a matchbox riv for Christmas two years back. Alas, it is not that pretty a green. But I see all us dueSers think alike.

Alberta Boot Company sells them for for three forty to three fifty Canadian dollars, and don't have the metal taps on them. So, I don't think they are expensive. I'm not sure if the RCMP manufacturers sell these to the general public anymore.

Oooh, the buttons are really nice! Not entirely sure what I'd do with them, but I'm still thinking... ;)

A quick search for "1971 Buick Riviera" keeps giving me ones like this.

I imagine Ray probably wouldn't give his Riv a makeover quite like this, though!

yeah, there are a lot of IMO atrocious Riv models out there, I am NOT into the lowrider/donk fad, I think it's dumb... I try to keep an eye out for only the green ones :)

*HACK*

Who dares desecrate a Riv to that degree?!

I found out firsthand that the insurance premium for a classic car is higher if the car has been customised. So I'm happy as a clam to keep my Riv all-original, thank you very kindly. :P (Whenever I can get it RUNNING again, that is.)

I smell an idea for a fic...

"Ray, if you don't mind me asking, why have you decorated your vehicle in that particular fashion?"

"What are you talking about, Benny? I haven't done anything to my car?"

"Oh dear..."
