I heard X-Files. :D

Maggie probably lost 9 minutes and was suddenly pregnant against all odds....with puppy/turtle hybrids. We just don't know yet whether or not they'll help enslave the human species ors save us from the 2012 turtle invasion.

EFS
Erin, TYK for the explanation. :D That is, the explanation that the government wants us to believe... ;) :P ;)

Yes, chumpy, I think the missing 9 minutes is the key! I believe the turtle/wolf hybrids are symbolic of old enemies coming together -- hence, a good omen for the future, which will save us from the 2012 Mayan alien/turtle invasion.

The question is, did Fraser also miss 9 minutes, and, if so, are there Fraser hybrids waiting somewhere in a government lab in the high Arctic, waiting to be gestated? ;) :D ;)

Just think of it--Fraser clones with alien powers. A silent, broad-shouldered, strong-jawed, army with telepathy and superior tracking skills. Why, they'd be invincible!!! Especially with turtle/wolf hybrid companions!

Of course, there is one major complication. With telepathy, the Fraser/alien clones would be able to tell what women were thinking about him/them. This would complicate things tremendously, don't you agree? It would cause confusion and chaos in the Fraser/alien clones' minds--such a mass of seething, churning, throbbing, pulsating, raw, passionate...um, erm, ahhh, oh dear. Well, they'd just have to avoid females. At least until the alien invasion was over.

(I don't suppose there's a dS/X-Philes crossover anywhere? ;) :D ;) )

Well, I don't think Fraser missed 9 minutes because there had to be someone to keep the religious dog collar while Dief was gone. Instead, Fraser probably got a new wolf/partner that unfortunately turned out to be part of the conspiracy whose aim it was to rid the world of DS fangirls who know about the best way to regenerate body heat...

As for the crossover fanfic, maybe you should start writing it right now, Lynn. I'd certainly read it.

I don't get the turtle thing.
Neither do I. All I know is someone gave it the name "Lenny". But let's ask Mel, she seems to know more. Mel?

Mel: The short story about Lenny is that Stan mentions having a pet turtle in one or two episodes. At the end of CotW, it was never explained what happened to the turtle when Stan stayed in Canada - did he give it to his parents or a friend to look after? Did he just leave it? The welfare of fictional animals bothers me, hence the old thread somewhere in 'General' about it. Shasha, at least, was also quite concerned for the turtle, too (although some people seem to think we're looking too far into things tongue.gif) I think it was suggested that perhaps his mother stopped by occasionally to feed the turtle - although now I think Shasha's in charge of that herself laugh.gif
And as for the name.... I just always imagined that that is what he'd be called. There's no real reason for it!

Thank you kindly, Mel!
Perhaps someone can answer this then: what is the connection between Diefenbaker and the turtles? Especially with regard to fan art showing baby turtles, a large cake, and Dief. These things worry me at night. Did Dief's romance lead somehow to baby turtles due to the X-Files connection? Was there a government conspiracy? OR

Did Dief and Maggie have hybrid puppies/turtles?

Inquiring minds want to know. ;)
The fanart with Dief and Turtle is an ongoing series by love_jackianto, and as such has the same reason for existing as any other fanworks. I rec the fics and art of love_jackianto, but some is slash so I'm not providing a link. You can look for her on LJ if you are interested.
