Yes, I am lazy and have come up with a lot of abbreviations. For 20KLUTS I did think of it after I remembered the name of a group Kyle likes, then added the rest of the initials, but I was surprised to also see it on a Yahoo mail group. So beware, someone out there thinks like I do!

the cat in The Fifth Element...

This one really bugs me - why couldn't it have just been explained?? I do love the film, but -- the cat!
My old film studies teacher absolutely hated The Fifth Element, but with the kind of passion that meant she's bring it up all the time, and we even watched loads of clips and stuff when we were doing gendered cinema. She didn't like it because of her reading of a mysoginistic representstion of women - she actually managed to argue the point that essentially the film was all just a metaphor for male orgasm/ejaculation  But whenever she'd point out how Mila's character was represented poorly, I'd just be like "never mind about that - what on earth happened to the cat??"

There was a cat in the Fifth Element? I totally missed that part. Then again, I was bored and alternately angry with the movie... I agree with your teacher's assessment on the film.

Ba-da-boom. Heh, I really like this movie, but then I'm male. I guess that I don't tend to read too much into mindless action flicks.

Yep, there was a cat in Korben's apartment (if I'm remembering right) near the beginning of the movie before he gets all the visitors.

Woah. Apparently I missed the point of the film?!

I kind of like it in all it's campy ridiculousness. A lot of it doesn't make sense really (mainly the outfits  ), but even that doesn't really bother me. But the cat...why have the cat there if they are going to abandon it?!

maybe it was just to show how Corben lives. No woman, but a cat at least.
