Shiloh, just as a remark. The county Helen and I are from is called North Yorkshire. :)

Hell yes...Yorkshire split in about 1974 from one county to 4.....since called, North Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, South Yorkshire and The East Riding Of Yorkshire. We are very definate counties and normally don't like to be lumped in as one. North Yorkshire is by far the most beautiful one as we don't have any big industrial cities like the other Yorkshire counties, and we have very diverse and dramatic scenery.. We are also the biggest county in England. :D

There used to be a country Bohemia which I understand is now part of Czech Republic which is part of or was part of Moldavia. Bohemia is where my mother's grandparents were from. The family was suposedly famous crystal and glass makers. I have done some research for the family history stuff, but it is awfully hard from this side of the pond. I just gotta hit that lotto someday!

Yep, there used to be a kingdom of the name of Bohemia, before that there was a Moravian empire more to the east (around 9th century). Then, for a very long time, both of these were part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. In 1918, when Czechoslovakia was founded, it consisted of the historical parts of Bohemia, Moravia, Silesia, Slovakia and one more part whis is now part of the Ukraine, I think. Since 1993 there have been the Slovak Republic (Slovakia) and the Czech Republic, which consists of Bohemia in the west, Moravia in the east and Silesia in the northeast.

It's very well possible that there is a Moravian community in PA since many people emigrated to the USA during the 19th century and later on and they created the communities. There is a Moravian College there (it's named like that) and even a Praha (Czech for Prague) somewhere.

:)

Oh yes, and we have nothing to do with Moldavia, unless you think of the whole Soviet block during the cold war ......

ETA: Yes Telecat, they are both beautiful parts of the country...I still have my heart set on that Guest House in New Hampshire though that I was talking about some time ago :(

I don't particularly like either. although for handling I would rather hold a rat than a mouse. Rats make me sneeze though...so I guess I won't ever be selling any of those in the shop

And you kicked Cleveland out of North Yorkshire so as not to spoil North Yorkshire's beauty  (I'm allowed to say that, I'm from Cleveland :P )

Oh and I've held both mice and rats. They don't bother me but I wouldn't particularly want them as pets. They have too short a lifespan and I would get too attached. I was distraught when my goldfish only lasted 2 years...

That's OK. They're much happier in Ohio.
