I like the US, It is pretty, majestic, and awe inspiring both in natural and man-made sites.  It has a lot to offer (more to some than others-in many ways) and it is my home of birth.  It's just that there is a lot about the government that I don't like.

Yeah, but it's full of bloody Yanks!

Well yes, but them other countries are full of foreigners...

Aha! I just found this thread :)

Oh dear, as Shasha so kindly pointed out, I'm not English  but from near Aberystwyth which is in Wales :D So perhaps you can move me in your list Nancy, I wouldn't want anyone thinking I was escaping over the border! :)

The newbie is from the Caribbean.

What would be really great is if we could get a map and and have little thumbtacks that are actually hyperlinks. So when you wave your mouse over them all the names of the people who live there will pop up. Then we could all learn something as i have no idea where Chech republic is etc.

But unfortunately I dont have the computer skill. Maybe i can surf the net and see if there is any free map software etc. etc.

mosesmarissa,

Where in the Carribbean? You are our first member from that area at all I think! How did you get interested in dueSouth?

Last summer there was a dueSouth Convention in Toronto. They had a huge map on the wall and people sent post cards from all over the world. They were posted on the wall and ribbons went from the post cards to the country on the map where the card sender lives!

Many (about 12) members from this forum attended. We came from homes as far west as Las Vegas, and as far east as Munic, Germany!

I also met 2 people I had known from a Yahoo group.

Just call me mara.

The Caribbean is a chain of islands stretching from the Bahamas which is just off the coast of Florida,USA down to the island of Trinidad which is off the eastern coast of venezuela,South america.

President Obama will be here for a few days for the Summit of the Americas, so you should be able to see something of us on your news programmes

Will say more tom.

Oh Buckets!

That's what happens when you dont read carefully.

Shiloh, I am from Trinidad.

Sorry about that

By the way, that was a great story about the map and postcards. Due south convention! You guys DO take this seriously. :)

They used to broadcast the show on the television. What 16 yr old would not be interested in Ben? Although now that I am older, I can appreciate the Rays better

You think RCW 139 (the name of the DS conventions) were serious, you haven't heard about Due South Day.

In 1997, to commemorate the show's return for season 3 after a one year hiatus, the people at Alliance Atlantis (DS' production company) held a public gathering at Queen's Park in Toronto (site of the chase scene in Free Willy). They displayed the Riv, had a few games (wolf howling and otter tossing contests), and had appearances by the actors (PG and CKR included).

ETC

Erin,
I agree!
To anyone who doesn't know us they may think we are overboard, but knowing each other, we know it's good fun. We have many professionals in our group and like Erin said, we make it good fun. Like our constant conflict about hair.
