I can't believe no one has started a random for July! How is everyone doing! The heat may get to you but look at it this way: You don't have to shovel it, or scrape it off the windshield! |

I'd rather have snow. The worst is behind us here in Québec. We've had a cooler week-end, thank God, but the grass is burnt to a crisp. Have you finally moved into your new place, River Driver? |

Finally is the right word. At least I can unpack and organise things at my own pace and not have to worry about meeting anyone else's deadlines. But after three attempts and nearly breaking one of my bedroom windows on the second, I installed an air conditioner using some scrap wood and old tiles I found in the garage to brace it. MacGyver has nothing on us railroad men. Just hope this means I'll start getting a decent day's sleep now and then, if the heat hangs around where it's supposed to.Ooh, and MacKenzie! Remember that Norwegian drakar replica we saw on my first visit? Just found out it's putting to sea again, sailing from southern Connecticut to a harbour north of Portland, Maine. If I get to see it up closer this time, I'll get enough pictures to make up for missing out.

My goodness, this is heartbreaking. Former RCMP officer Krista Carle who exposed harassment in the Force dies by suicide |

Usually we don't start getting 100+ temperatures until July and August, but this year we have been consistently over 100 degrees since the end of May. The energy bills hurt, and I keep my apartment warmer than most. Re officer Carle- that is so sad. Hopefully change happens and no one else has to deal with what she dealt with. |

Last Thursday in Montreal nearly killed me it was so hot & humid!! I can cope pretty well with heat up to the high 30s (Celsius) but humidity does me in. It didn't help that I was outside in it at La Ronde amusement park. I LOVE rollercoasters but didn't feel okay enough to go on any until late in the day, so I only went on two. I'm thankful to be back in Western Canada now where the weather is easier to cope with. It's the last week of my amazing holiday, I fly out on Saturday afternoon. I don't want it to end. Oh well, there's a good chance I'll be coming back September next year for my nephew's wedding, so at least that's something to look forward to.

I am feeling very down right now. I wish I knew why. Maybe just exhaustion. Just letting you know I am thinking of you, and hope to be better soon. |
