EPITOME OF AWESOME.

I might as well include families, I guess... Oh, if you're unsure as to what something is, don't be afraid to ask. I'll be happy to help find pics of em. :D

NON-PASSERINES

Accipitriformes -- birds of prey other than falcons -- I usually don't mention this order because they're usually included in Falconiformes

Accipitridae -- Hawks, eagles, kites, etc.
Cathartidae -- New World vultures
Pandionidae -- Osprey
Sagittaridae -- Secretary bird*

Anseriformes -- waterfowl -- I love this order

Anseridae -- ducks, geese, swans
Anseranatidae -- Mapie Goose*
Anhimidae -- Screamers*

Apodiformes -- Swifts and hummingbirds -- Nice order

Apodidae -- Swifts
Trochilidae -- Hummingbirds

Caprimulgiformes -- Nightjars, frogmouths, etc. -- It's an interesting order

Podargidae -- Frogmouths*
Caprimulgidae -- Nightjars and allies

Charadriiformes -- Gulls, auks, sandpipers, etc. -- This is a large order, but I haven't seen too many of them

Scolopacidae -- Snipe, sandpipers, phalaropes, and allies
Jacanidae -- Jacanas
Laridae -- Gulls
Sternidae -- Terns
Burhinidae -- Thick-knees*
Recurvirostridae -- Avocets and stilts
Charadriidae -- Plovers and allies

Ciconiiformes -- Storks -- the only birds in this order now

Ciconiidae -- See above

Coliiformes -- Mousebirds* -- Cute little order, I love 'em

Coliidae -- See above*

Columbiformes -- Pigeons and doves -- Nice birds :)

Columbidae -- See above

Coraciiformes -- Kingfishers and allies -- I love this order!

Coraciidae -- Rollers*
Meropidae -- Bee-eaters*
Momotidae -- Motmots
Halcyonidae -- Tree kingfishers*
Cerylidae -- Water aka belted kingfishers
Bucerotidae -- Hornbills* -- Sometimes included in their own order

Cuculiformes -- Cuckoos and allies

Cuculidae -- Cuckoos, coucals and anis

Families I want to see:

Hemiprocnidae -- Tree-swifts (in Apodiformes)
Steatornithidae -- Oilbird -- I saw a stuffed specimen (in Caprimulgiformes)**
Nyctibiidae -- Pottos -- Same as above (in Caprimulgiformes)**
Eurostopodidae -- Eared-nightjars (in Caprimulgiformes)
Rostratulidae -- Painted snipes (in Charadriiformes)
Thinocoridae -- Seedsnipes (in Charadriiformes)
Pedionomidae -- Plains Wanderer (in Charadriiformes)
Rhynchopidae -- Skimmers (in Charadriiformes)
Alcidae -- Puffins, guillemots, murres, and allies (in Charadriiformes)
Stercorariidae -- Skuas (in Charadriiformes)
Glareolidae -- Pratincoles and coursers (in Charadriiformes)
Dromadidae -- Crab Plover (in Charadriiformes)
Turnicidae -- Buttonquails (in Charadriiformes)
Chionididae -- sheathbills (in Charadriiformes)
Pluvianellidae -- Magellanic Plover (in Charadriiformes)
Ibidorhynchidae -- Ibisbill (in Charadriiformes)
Haematopodidae -- Oystercatchers (in Charadriiformes)
Brachypteraciidae -- Ground-rollers (in Coraciiformes)
Upupidae -- Hoopoe -- I saw a stuffed specimen (in Coraciiformes)**
Phoeniculidae -- Woodhoopoes (in Coraciiformes)
Musophagidae -- Turacos and allies (in Cuculiformes)
Opisthocomidae -- Hoatzin (in Cuculiformes)

Orders I want to see:

Cariamae -- purposed, used to be a part of Gruiformes -- Seriemas and extinct, flightless birds (Sadly, I don't know if I've seen a seriema... :( )

* = Only seen this family/order in a zoo, but I still count them anyway.
** = Only seen this family as stuffed specimens, I don't count them because they aren't living

NOTE: I may have seen some families of birds and didn't realise it or remembered... (like Egyptian plover and turacos).

I will finish this later

That's a lot of orders and families! Are there many that you haven't seen?
