I don't know whether anyone's thought of this variant before, but here it is. The game is essentially the same as chess, but with two important differences: 1) At the beginning of the game, only the two kings are on the board. 2) On your turn, instead of moving, you're allowed to put one of your other pieces on the board on its normal starting square. Also, once one of your pieces gets captured, it can't be re-added on a later move. Does anyone have any questions, or have they seen something like this before? Better yet, can anyone think of a name?! |

Maybe "Rise of kings" or something similar? Both sides' armies would increase in size until one king or the other is checkmated. I think I'd like this, as it could add extra complexity and strategy to the game. |

That's quite a good name, actually. To be honest, I haven't playtested it (except against myself  ), so I don't know how good a game it would turn out to be, but I do hope it does turn out to be good if I ever do dest it.

Hmm, Rise of Kings. Good name, perhaps you could call it something specific. Wilhelm's game? No he became a emperor. Perhaps The Georges Game? After the kings who were sovereign during the Acts of the Union and Act of the Union. The I and III respectively. Perhaps you could call it something like Relief Force, because that is what the added pieces would be like. |
