Character Sheet Appearance: Alexander is a tall, well-built man in his late thirties. He is athletic, yet lean, with his armor making him look a lot thicker than he actually is. His uniform doesn't include a helmet, allowing people to see his shoulder-length dark blue hair and grey eyes. His armor almost matches his hair, as it is a deep blue, just a shade or two lighter than his hair. Underneath his armor he wears a simple uniform, consisting of a shirt with blue and grey vertically striped sleeves, and a matching pair of parachute pants. The armor he wears covers the whole of his body, except for a few specific places; the inside of his forearm and elbow, and just above the knee. Protruding from his wrists and the top of his feet are a pair of silver 'wings'. They're solid metal, about a foot long and completely useless except as decoration.
One of the most noticeable things about Alexander's appearance is his weapon, the Drive Blade. It's a five foot long sword that looks like a gigantic, highly modified combat knife. Inset in the handle and back of the blade is a set of mechanisms for using the weapon's drive skills. Tubular, black cartridges are inserted into a slot on the back, then engaged with a trigger on the handle. On the weapon, in between where the blade meets the hand and mechanisms, brass gears and other mechanical parts.
Powers, Training and Weapons: As a proud Imperial soldier, Alexander has extreme training with one of their most powerful assets, the Drive Blade. This massive behemoth of a sword weighs around thirty-five pounds, and has been designed to be able to unleash devastating attacks, also known as drive skills. These powerful abilities not only deal physical damage, but some of them also inflict elemental damage, choosing from fire, ice or lighting, and the most powerful ones deal a mysterious un-typed damage. The sword's massive bulk means that Alexander is in top physical shape, possessing strength and endurance far beyond what a normal fighter would possess. Alexander has also subclassed as a Nightseeker to further enhance his offensive capabilities. His shadowy training has taught him how to effectively deal status effects to people via conveniently aimed throwing knives, lash out multiple times and enemies, and even instantly kill them.
The Drive Blade itself is a unique weapon in the world Alexander is from. Activating the drive skill takes time, but when successfully launched a motor in the blade generates tremendous amounts of thrust, causing the weapon to deal significant damage. The cartridge system on the back enables various types of energy to be added to these skills, though the cartridges themselves add to the effort required to swing the blade around and are slightly costly to have replaced. The Drive Blade also has a unique mode it can engage in, enabling it to use its drive skills without risk of overheating and even unleash a power, army-wide attack on the enemy.
Weakness: Alexander's fighting style, while powerful, leaves a few holes in his defense. First and most importantly, using his Drive Blade's drive skills causes the weapon to overheat, preventing their use for quite a few turns. Even then, it's not the whole blade that's overheating, so there isn't any added fire damage. It might be possible for someone skilled in fire magic to take advantage of this and try and overheat his weapon even more. If he would try to use a drive skill during this time, he could risk permanently damaging his blade's systems, which would be bad. Despite having decent armor on, his weapon leaves little room for a shield. He's not the fastest person either, so he has to rely on tanking attacks. His Nightseeker abilities also fall short against enemies that are either immune to status effects or have abilities to get rid of them.
Personality: Alexander is not what you would call a 'knight in shining armor'. He's sarcastic and skeptical about a lot of things, and has very little tolerance for other people's bullcrap. He also has a really bad habit of internalizing a lot of his problems, and has a tendency to accidentally loose them on undeserving people when he can't hold them anymore. But, on the other hand he is honest to a fault, one of the most stubborn knights in the army, and once he gives someone his loyalty he will follow them to the ends of the earth.
History: Alexander was born in the imperial capital, and had the misfortune of having his mother die in childbirth. His father vanished shortly after he was born, causing him to get placed in an orphanage. He spent his years on the streets, living off of other people's money and generally trying to be a smooth criminal. Unfortunately, shortly after he turned seventeen a pickpocketing job of his went horribly wrong, and he found himself on the wrong side of the law. Once he was behind bars, the government gave him two options. He could either serve out his sentence behind bars or join the military. He decided to join the military, as the jail term was rather lengthy and he figured he could turn his life around.
Once he was in he military, Alexander bounced around from position to position, never having one job for too long. In fifteen years he's worked in supply, communications, engineering and even scouting. None of those jobs really interested him though, but he soon came across a once in a lifetime chance. The Imperial Royal Guard needed more recruits, and Alexander qualified on all counts. The training was long and brutal, but he eventually succeeded and landed himself a very prestigious position. However, he wasn't on the guard for very long before tragedy struck. The mission he was on hit a very horrid snag, and the airships involved crashed in the woods, killing all the occupants except for him and another knight on the other ship. After searching for the wreckage of the other ship, he was pulled into the Multiverse.
