"Are you sure this is a good idea, Midoriya-kun? We both know you're pretty strong, ribbit..." Tsuyu sat beside Izuku, watching him with her usual, calm expression, but showing concern for her classmate. Of course she'd be worried, especially with how his first fight against that nasty creature called 'Airy'. He lost, and was pretty banged up. He had gotten stronger since then, but she was still unsure about him doing this. "I know, it's kinda scary, but...this is the best way to test how far I've come. It's like the Sports Festival, in a way." He replied, giving the frog girl a reassuring smile. "I wont know the results until I put them to the test. I came out fine last time, so there shouldn't be anything to worry about." Well, that's what he hoped, anyway. With the announcement of his name, Izuku stood up. Tsuyu gave him a pat on the shoulder and a nod, understanding his determination. "Good luck, ribbit!" He waved to her as she walked off toward the spectator's stands, and Izuku turned his attention to the opening gate before him. Called by his hero name, Deku, Izuku walked out into the light of the arena. Standing tall, he tried to ignore his mild anxiety of being in front of such a large crowd-- he had to focus on the coming fight, and give it all he could muster! From the other side of the arena the gates opened and Gorgon slithered under the groaning metallic portcullis. Her wings stretched out behind her in gratitude for being free from the cramped confines of the entrance tunnel. It may have been a suitable height for regular people but not Gorgon. She was very tall after all. Sitting upon her tail, which served as a means of locomotion, the Serpentine figure advanced towards Deku. “....you’re younger than I expected…..” It was a little surprising to see someone so young having stepped forwards to fight her but ultimately it was his sacrifice. “No matter. You will find no mercy or respite here human.” Yes...Deku would not be greeted with mercy here; humans had never shown her a single lick of mercy. They chased her from her home, banished her to a empty isle and after she finally achieved joy with her sisters...they had only tried to take it all away from her! Gorgon’s lips twisted, curved and warped into a snarl exposing her the row of sharpened teeth within. Even though she wore a mask, one decorated with a red jewel, the murderous rage emanating from her eyes was palpable. With a casual gesture of her right hand, one at odds with the simmering hatred she felt for humanity, two of Gorgon’s tendrils shot beams of energy towards Deku. The beams carved through the dirt sending up a cloud of sand as they moved towards Deku in a criss cross pattern. Not only that but she channeled energy inwards increasing her physical strength before sending the remaining two tendrils towards Deku. Their teeth were exposed dripping a clear coloured liquid onto the ground which hissed when it came into contact with the sands. Was it venom? Was it acid? Whatever it was it was clearly dangerous. |

Deku watched the snake-woman make her way out. A strange being, but Izuku had become somewhat used to the Multiverse's oddities by now. Just as he was about to give the woman a polite greeting, he was cut off by her harsh words and intimidating demeanor. The boy let out a small groan-- why did he have this kind of bad luck when it came to fighting others...? He wasn't given much time to try and hope for a friendly bout, as Gorgon had already begun a vicious attack. The cross-beam attack was getting closer, and not to mention there was another two tendrils shooting for him. His eyes focused on the liquid dripping from them-- likely some sort of poison. No time to mull over the details, he needed to steer clear of the attacks. Focusing his Quirk, Deku's body began to glow slightly, small bits of a blueish lightning coursing around his body. "One For All: Full Cowling...!" Deku muttered, jumping back with impressive speed to avoid the lasers. As the other two tendrils shot forward, Izuku pressed his middle finger against his thumb, aiming a flick at them. From just the small flick, Izuku managed to create an intense force of wind and power to blow the tendrils back, kicking up a large amount of dust and debris. As soon as Izuku landed on the ground, he was already moving again, trying to use the dust cloud he roused up as cover. When he got within striking range, Izuku brought his fist forward for Gorgon's midsection. It was only a fraction of One for All's power, but it would pack enough of a wallop to send the woman flying if it connected. 'SMAAASH!!' |

As much as she would have enjoyed an easy victory to reinforce her delusions of superiority over humanity this boy just had to put up a fight, didn't it? An irritated scoff of dismissal slithered past the Avenger's lips as she observed this boy evade her attacks. When Deku jumped backwards the two tendrils, of the non-laser variety, would jerk upwards in a sudden motion moving to try and bite him they were swiftly joined by the other tendrils but it would make no difference. Whatever power Deku had employed buffeted the tendrils sending them reeling backwards kicking a cloud of dust up in the process. Immediately Gorgon prepared herself for the incoming counter attack by charging magical energy within her limbs. She may not have known just where the human would attack from but she had an inkling it would be a frontal attack hence why she had planned to use the powers of her eyes. Deku burst forth from the cloud of smoke as he attempted to launch an upper punch right into her midsection at the moment putting him far too close for comfort. It was far too late for her to dodge, or do anything else really, and so when the fist collided with her body the Avenger found herself sent flying upwards into the air. It had hurt, immensely so, but it was not enough to deter Gorgon. She spread her wings preventing herself from falling to the ground. She was in a perfect position to launch her counter attack. The energy she had been storing was released in the form of a huge, as in roughly the size of a car, sphere of energy. She tore off her mask and looked directly at Deku. "Mystic eyes!" Meeting Gorgon's gaze, or so much as looking in her direction, would invoke full body paralysis on an ordinary human that is unless they had a means to protect themselves. When, or more importantly if, Deku was locked in place by her eyes Gorgon would throw the orb of energy towards him which would explode upon contact with the first thing it touched. Gorgon used her wings to lower herself to the ground, her bare feet colliding with the sands toes first before the heels came down. It was an oddly elegant landing for one so brutally violent. |

Izuku felt his fist connect, watching his opponent soar. Unfortunately, it seemed she had the ability to fly. That would make the fight harder-- he could have jumped up after her, but he decided to wait and see what she might do. He watched carefully-- too carefully. As Gorgon had ripped the mask off, Izuku suddenly felt a wave of paralysis wash over him. His eyes widened in shock, staring at the orb that was descending upon him. He had to move, to get out of the way, but his body refused to listen. He had to do something--! His left arm suddenly began to glow with a reddish, vein-like energy. The power was evidently enough to tear away the sleeve of his shirt. His fingers fidgeted slowly, slowly making another flick to throw himself out of the way. Though he avoided a direct hit from the orb, the blast radius was enough to do some damage. Not to mention the fact that he had haphazardly thrown himself into the wall of the arena, causing him to cough the air from his lungs. Shakily, he returned to his feet, watching the woman float back to the ground. At least now he knew to avoid that Mystic Eyes attack. Deku let out a huff, thinking quickly. As Full Cowling came back into effect, the boy rose his fist again. "New Hampshire Smash!!" However, this fist wasn't even aimed for Gorgon. It was in the opposite direction, the force of which caused Izuku to rocket toward the woman at a blistering speed. He intended on bashing into the woman, but he was ready for her to dodge-- had she moved out of the way, Izuku's feet would plant cleanly on the wall behind her, pushing off to come back at her with his fist reeled back and ready to give her another fierce punch. |

The orb of energy may have missed Deku but the explosion that occured did not. The magical energy burned at Deku's body almost as if it was trying to devour his body which knowing Gorgon? That was most likely the intended effect. Gorgon observed the boy fly through the air, by his own power at that, crashing into a wall as a result of his drastic evasion move. If it wasn't for the fact Deku was human Gorgon would have given him kudos for how doggedly he strove to avoid taking worse damage but alas, he was human and humans utterly sucked! See the boy rise to his feet Gorgon prepared for the obvious attack. She had been fully expecting the boy to charge and engage her from melee range which he did but not in the way she had expected. Instead of charging towards Gorgon on foot, or launching some sort of ranged attack, the boy propelled himself through the air with the exact same power he'd been using this entire time. Was it really the only trick in his arsenal?! Just making the area around him explode?! Gorgon did, as Deku had estimated, moved out of the way using her tail's potent musculature to propel herself sideways but she was not merely going to dodge. Of course what she was caught off guard by was when the boy flew back towards her crashing into her body. Deku's punch may have found its mark explosive impacting against Gorgon, while having a chance at sending her flying, but she merely dug her feet into the sand. Having avoided being sent flying like a ragdoll the Avenger tightly coiled around Gorgon holding him hostage inside her coils. She hissed angrily and took a firm hold of Deku's head clutching his cheeks. She hissed angrily and opened her mouth exposing fangs. She moved towards his neck looking to bite into Deku's veins for the sake of injecting venom. All the while her tendrils would tighten slowly suffocating him with the intention of forcing the air out of him. |

When your attacks were limited to punching things really hard, you had to get creative. His punch managed to land, but the typical follow up of watching his opponent be blasted back didn't happen this time. Somehow she had managed to hold her ground, much to Izuku's shock. He let out a small gasp as he tried to back away, only to have his body snared tight by the woman. Hands gripped his face, feeling his neck crane. Was she going to bite him!? Whatever that liquid was, he couldn't allow himself to get bitten-- but moving was limited to a vain struggle. His Full Cowling's power wasn't enough to break free. He had no choice--! His arm began to glow with a reddish, vein-like power. Charging his Quirk to the maximum, his boost in power allowed him to wrestle his arm free from the coil. With her so close, the woman's face was in perfect striking range. "One For All, 100%! Detroooit...--!" he roared, reeling his freed arm back once more and aiming it right for the woman's cheek. Unlike the other punches, the amount of power in this one could probably be felt. "--SMAAAASH!" Miss or hit, the force alone of the attack managed to blow some distance between himself and her. Izuku let out a pained grunt, looking down at his arm-- it was entirely bruised, swollen and red from the overexerted power. He still didn't have full control, but he didn't have a choice. His arm shook with pain...he was going to have to be a lot more careful in the fight now. Edited by Izuku Midoriya, May 11 2018, 04:15 AM.

Closer and closer her fangs reached as Gorgon was just about to plunge them into Deku's neck. Her venom was nowhere near potent enough to kill but, as with before, it could easily cause full body paralysis and with the fact her mouth could inject a far greater dosage than her tendrils which would easily be able to land her victory. Of course despite Gorgon's physical might, especially in the dense musculature of her tail, Deku still managed to wiggle an arm free empowered by whatever caused his arm to glow. Gorgon suddenly snapped forward to bite Deku realising that to delay this any longer risked injury on her part. Sadly it was a case of her being too late as Deku's fist collided with her face sending her flying through the air. At first the two figures went flying together at the same time, on account of Gorgon having trapped the boy in her coils, but eventually Deku would manage to wiggle free while Gorgon crashed into the wall behind her. The impact of Gorgon's bulk against the stone wall cratered it kicking up dust and sending small sized parts of the wall flying. Pulling herself out of the wall Gorgon groaned and clutched her injured face feeling the broken jaw that throbbed so painfully. She was angry...immensely so....At first it seemed as if Gorgon was standing still, although through the dense cloud nobody in the audience could actually tell what was happening. However there was a sudden heaviness to the air as a single glowing red light appeared in the gloom piercing through the dust and banishing it. "I'll devour you for that! I'll rip your body apart and consume every last part! Pandemonium Cetus!" A huge beam of purple energy tore through the arena aimed directly for Deku. It was an undeniable maelstrom of energy and hatred directed entirely towards Deku. Gorgon may no longer be compelled, as in she had a choice now, to hate humans...but in this instance she definitely hated this boy. |

Izuku picked himself off the ground, huffing and shaking as he struggled to breathe for a moment after being stuck in Gorgon's coil for as long as he was. His arm throbbed in pain-- he probably wasn't going to be able to use it for the rest of the match. He had hoped that the 100% punch had been enough to put Gorgon down, but shock and fear etched along his expression as the woman roared angrily through the dust, even charging some sort of energy. He couldn't believe that, even after using 100% of his Quirk, she could still stand. Drain or not, he put everything into that punch, the same as All Might's punches...! He'd have to worry about that later. Izuku gasped again at Gorgon's words, and the beam that barreled at him. There was hardly a chance to think--! Izuku threw himself out of the way, using his Quirk to launch himself faster than he'd normally be able to. Despite hitting and skidding across the ground rather painfully, he managed to avoid the beam. Looking at the aftermath though, Izuku gulped hard. With the amount of power in that attack, and looking at the singed earth left in the beam's wake...she truly did intend on killing him! Izuku picked himself back up. Now he had to make sure he put her down somehow, not just only for his sake, but for the arena spectators as well. The boy didn't know how protected they were, but he didn't want to risk them somehow getting hurt. Darting like a bullet up to Gorgon, Izuku cringed as he brought his injured arm up. If he was going to do any lasting damage, he'd have to make sure he hit the woman with his uninjured arm, even if that meant further damaging his already hurting one. "Delaware...--!!" Izuku let out, swinging his injured arm as he felt some of the bone shatter. The punch completely missed, but the intention wasn't to connect. If Gorgon hadn't moved, she find herself blown back by a sheer force against the wall she just climbed out of, possibly enough so leave her immobile long enough for Izuku to close the gap once more. "--Detroooit...SMAAASH!" Izuku swung his good arm forward, using 100% of his Quirk to punch Gorgon in the gut. Izuku grunted and hissed as he felt more fractures along his arm, but he tuned them out, only focused on making sure Gorgon couldn't put anyone else at risk. |

The beam of energy flew directly towards Deku an undeniable maelstrom of furious RAGE and violent energy that even the air quaked in response to. The beam may have missed Izuku fizzling out once its initial power was spent, the drain had negatively affected Gorgon like it did many others, but that did not mean the serpentine female was utterly devoid of defensive options. She raised her tail ready to slam it directly into Deku as he made a made charge towards her. Once close enough her tail's mighty musculature put all of its force into a single devastating swing with more than enough force to shatter bone...or it would have, were it not for the boy ducking underneath her swing. At first she had been expecting a swift upper cut into the jaw, it did seem to be where Deku's punch was intended to go, but no the boy missed entirely! More importantly he had only injured his already damaged arm further! "Fool....your death will not be swift." Exposing her fangs, and those of her snake's, Gorgon prepared to sink them into Deku's flesh. Just as she lunged for his exposed neck a sudden force, which originated out of nowhere, sent her flying into the wall she had only just pulled herself free from. Before she had the chance to free herself from the brick work of the arena walls a tremendous impact slammed into her stomach. There was a sickening crunch to Deku's punch as the force of the impact tore through Gorgon's body shattering ribs, breaking bones and rupturing blood vessels none of which would be enough to kill her but it would at least hurt; perhaps even take her out of action. With a violent retching motion she cough up a huge mouth full of blood that aggressively hissed when it came into contact with the sand; in fact if this shower of blood came into contact with Deku's exposed skin it would most likely hurt him as well. She was, at her core, a purely magical being and her blood was highly dangerous to pretty much anyone except herself; it had been used to create elixirs that would make even the most knowledgeable alchemist scream like a young boy at Christmas. "Die...." Violent and blood thirsty snarls of disgust hissed from behind Gorgon's clenched teeth. Despite the pain throbbing through her body the Avenger had no desire to stop. She may lack the strength to actually finish the dead but that wouldn't stop her from reaching an arm out towards Deku's throat. She intended to squeeze the life from him but, suddenly, her strength failed her causing her arm to flop limply. "Fine...disgusting monster that you are....end it then....victory is yours...." The sheer murderous rage and bitterness in Gorgon's voice was palpable an overwhelming blanket of sheer hatred which threatened to suffocate all. She may no longer be compelled to hate humanity but that did not mean her murderous disgust for them was any lesser; now she merely had a choice in the matter. She fully expected Deku to slay her here and now; was that not what all humans wanted to do to her? |

Deku felt his fist connect somewhat sickly with Gorgon's body. It was damage he didn't want to inflict upon her, but her rampage left him with little choice. Blood did manage to drip along his hero suit, causing the boy to bite his lip as he pulled away, shaking himself free of the burning liquid. It had already eaten it's way through the fabric, causing some harsh burns to his skin. All in all, Deku looked ragged-- both arms were broken, bleeding from their overexerted power, his shoulder was burned from Gorgon's blood, and various scrapes and bruises littered him. With his injuries, he couldn't even manage to pull himself away from Gorgon attempt to choke the life from him, but thankfully her strength had given out. A slight look of confusion came over the boy, watching Gorgon remain limp within her hole in the wall. He wasn't sure what sparked the woman's hatred that made her so bitter, but he certainly had no intention of slaying her. "Why would I do that? This was just supposed to be friendly match..." Deku huffed, standing tall despite his injuries. "I didn't mean to go so far, but your attacks could have hurt others who were watching in the stands. That's why I went as far as I did. I hope I didn't hurt you too badly..." he spoke, genuinely looking upset over the matter. Deku, despite the injuries upon himself, was far more concerned for Gorgon's well-being. If he could have moved his arms, he would have tried to help the woman up, but it was taking all of his strength not to fall over from exhaustion. Though the gates opened for him to exit, Deku remained where he was. "D'you need help getting up? I can't really move my arms, but..." he trailed off, trying to think of a way to help. |

An embittered cynical hiss of frustration escaped Gorgon's tendrils as she struggled to pull herself from the wall. "A friendly match?...Don't make me laugh...all you humans are the same...violent destructive beasts. In all my life I have never known your kind to desire anything other than my death." Her distrust, paranoia and generally terrible experiences with humans made it difficult for her to trust Deku especially given his efforts to maim her. "Tch...hurt me?...Hmp.....I'm fine...I'm fine I'm fine." with a gargantuan effort the serpentine women attempted to pull herself free from the wall but, upon realising it was pointless, yielded to the fact she needed assistance. "....Fine. I accept your offer of aid as much as I despise it. I know not why you do not finish that which you started but you shall regret it." It may have sounded like a promise of violence but really, that was not the case. For now Gorgon's defeat had resulted in satisfying her violent urges so then, what was the intended meaning? Well she knew her existence was little more than a destructive calamity one which would, sooner or later, descend into nothing more than a destructive monster. "Yes.....at the end of the day my existence is that of a monster. I hate and destroy...." It seemed that, despite the fact she had a choice in being a monster or not, Gorgon was just too used to the fact of her life to think of other possibilities. The idea of having a peaceful life with her sisters or experiencing the joys of her new found freedom were lost on her. She had been an entity of destructive hated for oh so very long that it was immensely difficult for her to even consider having any other choices. It was a lot like Stockholm Syndrome actually even though there was a fair amount of differences. Gorgon's tendrils would reach out and coil around Deku's waist but in an oddly non-threatening manner. Without even waiting for the boy to agree her tendrils pulled attempting to free Gorgon from the rubble...but given her overwhelming physical power? She might just end up making the situation worse. "Tch....do not think this settles things...you are merely a tool I am using stupid human!" The sudden violent outburst was a little uncalled for but in truth? She was merely trying to cover up her own embarrassment at needing a human's aid. |
