The Old Chateau. As a large building that had been abandoned for years the landmark had caught Laegrinna's eye when she'd been passing through the Eterna Forrest and the city connected to it. Supposedly haunted she'd heard that most of the locals tended to avoid it either out of fear or disinterest. Since that basically read 'ideal base' she'd chosen to investigate such rumors and had found... that, well, they were pretty accurate actually. Lying on top of one of the beds she'd found in one of the many bedrooms, her boots placed neatly by the side of it Laegrinna found her focus not on the book on her lap in front of her but on a presence in the bedroom next to the one she was in. It was almost certainly one of the ghosts, the spirit of a small child which she'd noted around the house before. It hadn't been the only one, she'd seen others though none of them seemed willing to talk... which hardly bothered her; if they were willing to leave her alone then they could, quite frankly, do whatever they wanted, it hardly mattered to her. Indeed, that was the general view she'd taken of this house; if the Pokemon and ghosts didn't bother her then she wouldn't pay them any mind, though their presence made it unlikely she'd even properly take over the house. Easier to just stay in it whenever she happened to be in Sinnoh. Abruptly the presence in the other room vanished leaving only the sounds of the downpour outside particularly as pattered against the second floor window. She sighed faintly content that, once again, the spirit wasn't doing anything she cared about, and picked the book off of her lap as she returned to reading. It was an almost perfect place to do so. After all this chateau had a reputation and with said reputation, the fact it was only a couple of hours until midnight and the awful weather outside the manor she couldn't imagine anyone bothering her here. |

The Demifiend
![]()

Shin's reasons for being there were far less calculated. The directionally challenged Demifiend got lost in the forest, and found himself growing increasingly frustrated by the native creatures, these 'pokemon' as others had called them, nigh endlessly attacking him. And then it began to rain, a fierce storm that only grew more intense by the passing minute. Thus it was that in a foul and uncharitable mood, the Demifiend noticed the elegant and haunted Chateau in the midst of this forsaken forest, and made a beeline for it. The door was pushed open with a slam, before being abruptly slammed back shut. Into the foyer he stalked; a lithe figure drenched in rain and with glowing golden eyes scanning the entry way in a predatory fashion. His body marked with countless shamanistic markings that gleamed with demonic energy, his neck marked by a strange sort of horn that protruded from the apex of his spine, and his body clad only in pants, shoes, and a sheathed sword, Shin Managi stood tall and proud. For all of a minute before collapsing backwards against a nearby chair and yawning loudly. He reached up to rub at his eyes sleepily, then stretched out a few times. It was in this process that one of the ghosts decided it found his crass manners irritating, and yanked the chair out from under him, through the wall, into the room Laegrinna was relaxing in. She'd of course witness this- a chair being pulled into her room, and the presence that pulled it there vanishing moments later. This is followed by a cry of outrage from the entry foyer, and then a pained groan. |

The ghost's presence did not go unnoticed. The moment she sensed the spirit entering the room Laegrinna's eyes moved her gaze flickering from her book over to see the spirit... or what she could catch of it as it deposited a chair and vanished. If it'd been just that, just the seemingly pointless action of a ghost, she would have been willing to ignore it as it still wasn't something that bothered her. The cry of anger that came shortly afterwards however was more problematic. It wasn't that she was concerned for whomever might have made the noise, nor would it be accurate to say she was worried by it. No, she merely felt that, if she was going to stay in the Chateau at times, that she couldn't let such noises pass without investigation whether it'd been made by another living being, a ghost that actually could talk or something else entirely. Thus she sighing in exasperation she closed the book over placing it on the bed. This was soon followed by her sliding her legs off of the side of the bed, raising herself to a sitting position, as she moved to slide her boots back on. Soon after that she stood up turning to walk through the door and, eventually, out onto the second floor of the foyer. It took her maybe a minute for to go from hearing the sound from her room, to reaching where she thought the source was. Opting not to immediately go down to the first floor she instead walked over to the railing, where she let her cold gaze survey the floor beneath her as she looked for the one who'd made the shout. |
