The realm of Kanto, with its grass plains, was actually relatively a peaceful nation despite being a part of the multiverse and more importantly despite the vast amount of creatures running around with the ability to shoot fire, lighting and other elemental based attacks. Of course, relatively peaceful did not mean entirely peaceful and as of late there had been murmuring among the locals of a small Kanto town. Signs of a vast creature simply running rampage had been reported and finally, after months of living in worry of this apparently immensely violent creature the residents of Kanto (well the residents of a single town anyway) decided to do something about it. They had no idea what they were dealing with, other than the fact it was destructive, and so had put out a call for someone competent. In her desire to find and fight strong opponents endlessly Artoria had answered the call which is what brought her to the wind swept plains of Kanto. Sitting upon Llamrei the knight gazed towards the horizon before gently nudging her mount. Obeying Llamrei began to walk at a gentle trot heading towards a small patch of farm land that was the only significant landmark. Why Artoria had focused her investigation on this farm land was simple: outside of the town which her employer's resided in this farm was the only place inhabited by humans; at least Artoria assumed humans inhabited it. She figured the resident's of the farm, given their proximity to the locations were the damage had been recorded, would know something more or have some sort of information. You may not think it but she was pretty good at getting information out of people.....at least she had been in the past; however that may have been due to her position as king of England and the general authority that came with the crown. She trotted towards the farm house and climbed down from Llamrei resting her lance upon her shoulder to carry it easier. Walking confidently towards the door the armored figured would reach forth with a gauntlet knocking loudly upon the door. Standing stoically she waited at the front door neither patiently or impatiently. She would simply wait staring intensely from beneath her pitch black helmet. |

It was a slow day. Resting from recent "exercise", Yarne and Nah just chilled at their solitary home while planning out what crops they're going to sow. All in all, their plans bore little fruit, since they had no intention on carrying out any agricultular work on this clear day. But they didn't expect a guest today. Yarne carefully stood up from the floor, since he was awake, while Nah was already fast asleep. He didn't want to disturb her dragon nap. Moving through the small house, he reached the front door and peeked through a nearby window. The sight of a knight clad in black armor shook him, but if they were a threat, they wouldn't politely knock on the door. Hopefully, they just wanted to talk... even if Yarne almost knew what they wanted to talk about. He meekly opened the door, now facing the knight of Wild Hunt. A gorgeous woman, if not menacing, stood before him. Yarne cleared his throat, dispelling any shades of fear in his voice, before speaking up, "Hello. What have brought you here?" He didn't want them to feel unwelcome, but, on the other hand, he had no choice but to doubt their amicability. |

Artoria's gaze focused upon the strange figure that answered the door. Beneath her helmet her expression was neutral and passive but eventually, she would speak up. The tension in the air was palpable especially given the knight's disposition. More importantly; there was a certain edge to this male's voice but that would not be enough to deter the knight. "I have been tasked with investigating the presence of a large creature that has been reported to engage in rampages in this area. Do you have anything to report?" Without missing a beat the knight's steely persona took charge of the situation. She impassively stated her reasoning for being here and then asked the question which brought her here. Of course, despite Artoria's question technically being well, a question the manner in which she delivered it made it sound more like an order. She rested the top of her lance upon the ground clutching it firmly. In the back Llamrei neighed softly before returning to munching upon a patch of grass; at least it looked like grass but neither the horse nor his rider could know otherwise. |

Was it a request, or an order? Yarne couldn't help, but feel the imminent threat from that imposing warrior. But he couldn't back down now. Nah was at most vulnerable right now, having tired out completely. And the taguel knew that the honest answer won't keep them safe. But he also felt like he'd not be able to directly lie to that warrior, who had the air of someone looking for an excuse to fight someone she'd call a challenge. Not bloodthirst, no. He couldn't feel that. There was this dispassionate air of someone seeking only one thing from life... On a battlefield, you'd sometimes find opponents like this. Fear didn't take him, and he answered the knight, "I do. The large creature specifically avoided heavily inhabitated areas, restricted itself to a small area of a forest and let the native animals scatter without giving chase. From my point of view, taking action against the beast is unnecessary." |

She remained silent. Stoic and impassive waiting with a intensity only further augmented by her armour; not to mention the giant lance resting upon her shoulder. It was fortunate that Yarne gave a direct answer but it invited certain questions. The main one was why this male had chosen to verbally insist taking further action against the creature was unnecessary. Yarne's deliberate making of that point merely invited suspicion as it implied he had some vested interest in the situation which in turn he may know more than he was letting on; unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, Artoria had no real interest in any knowledge that was not required in tracking down this creature. "Where does the creature make lair?" The knight's only goal in this instance was to lay the fears of her employer to rest. "My objective is to lay the concerns of my employer at rest." What the knight did not mention was what those concerns were nor how she planed to lay them to rest; filling Yarne in on that detail was ultimately a waste of resources. |

He was afraid that question would be asked, and such an impersonal statement would be made. From what Yarne knew, is that the knight already has in mind the way they're going to alleviate their employer's concerns. The taguel needed to divert the knight's attention, but, at the same time, the moment his doubt would be made clear, he'd be the one facing the knight... And he will, since if he fails to stand his ground here, the mercenary would come for resting Nah. He'd not let this come to be. He gathered his confidence, and answered, "Lair is far too much crude of a word. This is our home, and we haven't hurt anyone here, nor do we want to. But... you don't care, do you, woman in black armor?" Yarne said as he clutched his beaststone. He knew he had to be ready in case she indeed attack, but he won't let himself be the one to initiate hostilities. Edited by Yarne & Nah, May 3 2018, 11:32 AM.

Artoria's eyes hardened beneath her helmet. She glared at the boy before her having put two and two together. The way his body clenched, the words he chose and of course the accusation that she didn't care all confirmed that he was hiding something. As to the nature of what this person was hiding? Why, it was woefully obvious. "The creature is here." The fact this was the home of Nah and the creature meant very little to Artoria. Her task was to ensure the creature ceased causing destruction; it would bring the people that had employed Artoria the peace they craved. "You are right. I do not care if this is your home. What I do care for is preventing the creature from disturbing the peace and destroying the livelihood of the village. You have a connection to this creature." The way Artoria saw it this man had a choice. A very simple choice to make with equally simple options to understand. "Cease this creature's destructive rampages or I will do it for you." It actually showed a certain restraint that she had not merely killed this fool and barged in already. She was merciless but not cruel. |

She seemed forward, but there's a meager hope for compromise... maybe... The taguel decided to take the chance to explain, "That's the best we can do to control her destructive urges. Her draconic heritage is imperfect and causes her to have an itch for destruction," Yarne took a breath in, "If it gets too bad, she will be lost to madness. Possibly, forever. That's why, regularly, once in twenty days, we get out, to the furthest reaches of the furthest forest, she lets loose on trees and stuff, I ward the area so no one is actually hurt." He remembers one detail, "These small creatures, pokemon, they call them, are actually quite nice to be around. They're durable and can be, hmm, her sparring partners. Helps in tiring her out and satisfying the itch." "I hope you understand." The taguel finished his explanation. |

Artoria listened intensely paying close attention to each and every single word. It was really was a complex situation but for once in Artoria's half-life she felt an odd bond with the individual Yarne was talking about; the knight may not be that bloody thirsty but they knew how compelling the desire to commit violence could be. She did consider it her only purpose. There was irritation to the knight's body language, a palapable aura of a simmering temper, as she barged past, or tried to, Yarne forcing her way into the house. Once inside she rested her eyes on Nah before...dropping her lance onto the ground and turning to face Yarne. Reaching up to remove her helmet Artoria shook her hair free. "You have my sympathy but that does not change the fact these violent rampages need to come to an end. The villagers are afraid. You will both come with me. You will speak to these villagers and the issue will be resolved one way or another." Despite the fact she had given Yarne a chance Artoria did not fail to remind him why she was here nor what she had no qualms doing. Even though Artoria was no longer king, and generally considered it a mistake, a weak part of her still believed she should at least try and resolve this fairly. She had been a good king once upon a time. |

Yarne tentatively, but firmly, followed her into the house, "Well. We should let her wake up properly. I don't want her to be scared." Taguel didn't want to remind that she, still, was a dragon who can get dangerous when in panic as an alternative to a typical human reaction, "How about we wait outside?" Meanwhile, out in the yet untilled fields, a gaudily dressed man walked closer to the house. He noticed Yarne standing in the doorway, which prompted the guy to shout, "Oi, what's taking so long? The dragon's sleeping, just take its ugly head and be done with it!" Apparently, he couldn't yet see that the man he's trying to talk to is the dragon's lover. Yarne bided his time, because if he just got confrontational with this human, the other human... would not be inclined to join his side in the confrontation. So he just played deaf, hoping that the female knight would overhear the shout, and question it. |

Waiting outside was....fine. With a disinterested and apathetic shrug Artoria went along with the suggestion of Yarne following him back outside standing impassively by the front door. At that exact moment a gaudily dressed, and highly familiar, figure walked out and began to shout demanding that Artoria should just take the head of the sleeping dragon. It was rather odd that this man knew the dragon was inside, knew they were asleep and also knew this house was where he could find Artoria. " My objective is to ensure the continued peace and stability of the village. While slaying the dragon is a possible solution it is not the only one. To my knowledge this dragon has done nothing beyond disturb the peace. A measured response equal to the act shall be metered out." Artoria calmly and stoically disagreed with the gaudy man's demands denying him what he wanted. By all accounts yes, simply slaying the dragon would be the most effective solution but that conflicted with Artoria's knightly virtuous. King she no longer was but she was a knight still. "How do you know the dragon resides inside?" There was one problem with the gaudy man's presence or more accurately, his presence was the problem. Artoria had not discovered the dragon made its lair here until after her arrival and so there was no way she could have informed this man. The possibility he was simply jumping to conclusions did also exist but it was far more likely he had prior knowledge. "I have no need to fight this dragon. A fair solution is attainable." The passionless nature in which she articulated spoke of a stern will one that refused to simply bow down to this gaudy man. He may have been Artoria's employer, one of them anyway, but she had no pledged herself to him beyond "solving the dragon issue." Those were the words she was bound by and no knight worth their salt would break their vows nor would they enact injustices. From beneath her blackened helm the knight stared intensely at this man distrusting and paranoid of his true motivations; he did seem to know a little bit too much for a victim after all. Yarne eyed the person. He was a guy that desperately tried to get permission to settle on this piece of land from the mayor before they came around to get the same permission. After explaining what they would do with the land, as well as documenting a certain medical condition to clear up any possible misunderstandings, they were granted permission to settle here and grow crops as long as the taguel and manakete didn't disturb local wildlife too much. They received no complaints so far, meaning this man must have been acting on his own, trying to get people to condemn them as someone to get rid of. Of course, the gaudy person scoffed when he saw that mate of the "dragon" was standing before him, and removed a pokeball from his wrist, "I know, because this is MY land! And since this is MY land, I may choose to evict them however I want! Onyx, come out!" A beam of light shot out from the pokeball held by the pretender, "Your fur will make for a fine rug in my mansion!" Yarne kept his eyes peeled on the enemy and their Onyx, while speaking to the knight, "The man-spawn's name is Bethor. He was trying to get this land to build his huge mansion here, but the mayor wouldn't approve of this plan and refused to release it to him. He must have been plotting all this time to somehow get rid of us. Until he decided to take it into his own hands, it seems." Bethor grinned, and issued his first command, "Onyx, sandstorm!" At his command, the boulder pokemon began swiftly rotating, whipping up sand until it covered the sky. |

Suddenly the entire situation went out of control. The man began to yell and shout drawing a red and white sphere from his belt and throwing it forwards, releasing a large stone serpent from it. Artoria stood impassive and rapidly clambering upon her horse just as the stone snake began to rotate its segments, whipping up a sand storm out of thin air. "Then he is a fool. I will not tolerate this injustice." She gripped her lance and suddenly, it also began to rotate crimson energy swelling up within before erupting outwards in a vortex of condensed mana that surrounded the entirety of the lance. "This is not your land. I will give you one chance to leave peacefully." As pointless as Artoria felt it was to say that, she would still do it anyway as the most efficient way for this situation to be resolved would be if this man just willingly gave up but it was highly unlikely he'd willingly do that. Artoria's doubt was proven to be well founded as this gaudy fool barked, spitting spittle with his vile words. "Onyx use rock throw!" the serpentine rock monster swung its tail scraping it along the surface of the ground launching a rock towards the three people. Artoria remained calm and raised her lance thrusting it forwards into the rock then releasing some of the energy within. It was enough to break the rock apart into a series of much smaller pieces that were of no threat to herself, Yarne or the house behind her. Artoria trotted forth and charged directly at the giant stone snake using the might of her lance to smash aside the tail and keep charging forth. She rapidly descended upon the man Llamrei snorting angrily as he attempted to turn and free. "H-h-hey! You can't attack trainers in a Pokemon battle! That did not stop Artoria as Llamrei kicked with his front feet, the metal horseshoes colliding with the man's head knocking him out or possibly killing him given just how fragile humans could be. Of course knocking out the man was one thing but there was still an overgrown stone snake to deal with. Artoria turned back towards the creature that was apparently...immobilised? It was strange but since the Onix wasn't receiving orders from their trainer anymore the creature had decided to just stop. "Explain why this creature is not bothering to avenge their master." She made her demand of Yarne known, commanding instead of requesting that he explain things. Artoria's knowledge of Pokemon was pretty much non-existent and so she saw them as nothing else except a phantasmal creature such as a dragon. It would have been an easy matter for Artoria to have killed the Onix and his trainer...but she felt no real desire to do such a thing; as ruthless and merciless as she was the fallen king was not THAT cruel a person. Hopefully now that she had taken out Bethor the entire situation could be resolved. |

Yarne wordlessly observed at how the scene was unfolding. As sandstorm with Onyx's sudden halt, only now he could properly smell the air... "Be on your toes! Something's wrong about the smell of those two!" As if on cue, a bunch of lit dynamite sticks popped out of thin air nearby the black knight from a flash of blue matter - the same blue matter the pokemon and their master disintegrated into. Knowing that he can't close the distance and then make it out, he could only warn the former king, "Take cover!" Regardless of outcome, the same annoyed voice would resound through the farmland, "Cut, cut, cut! No-nonsense knights are out of fashion! I need a blockbuster, not a one-shot! Knight disarming the evil mastermind of his minions and reconciling with her former victims-to-be, while the mastermind got away to get them for real, but no!" The man, now in less gaudy, but still very bright outfit, descended on a floating folding chair, still rambling, "The setup, the culmination, the ending, all ruined!" He didn't bother to descend all the way down, instead staying just of reach of both the mounted knight and the taguel. Speaking of the taguel, he couldn't make sense of the situation. This Bethor has a normal smell, but the fake Bethor, fake explosives and fake pokemon, they all had two things in common. They were made of some weird blue matter... and they had a weird, almost alien, smell. His current theory is that he can create very convincing fakes... and whatever "blockbusters" were, it appeared he loves special effects in his theatrical enactments. "Before we resume the shooting, a proper introduction is in order," he stood up in his chair, "Bethor Zelazny, Bethor Industries, Director of Explosives!" With the final world, he materialized a clapper in his hands and clapped it to disappear in explosion... and re-appear much higher, "And now, you will fight a real dragon!" He said, but this materialization was taking quite some time, which caused him to spit, "Shit! Ether is far from abundant in here, is it!? FINE! Rabbit-boy, knight-girl, you will have to make do with some extras for now!" After Bethor clapped the clapper once again, nearly a dozen of bears has materialized upon the farmland, along with a couple of scaled-down T-rexes. All the summoned beasts had some ghostly paleness to them, despite their convincing realness. As Yarne transformed and kicked one of the bears squarely on the jaw, he still struggled to comprehend just what was going on. Edited by Yarne & Nah, Jun 2 2018, 02:55 AM.

Was that it?...Artoria looked around observing the area but she saw nothing. Did that mean she had won? Possibly..but then Yarne yelled a warning just as a series of blue dynamite, whatever dynamite was, and while Artoria did turn to ride away she was unfortunately not given enough time. The dynamite exploded and sent both her and Llamrei flying through the air crashing into, and then breaking through, the fence surrounding the garden. Llamrei whined in pain his legs kicking wildly as a piece of fencing was visibly stuck inside his leg. Artoria immediately jumped to the aid of her steed and pulled the piece of wooden fencing free from his leg; it was fortunate Llamrei was imbued with a portion of the magical energy Artoria herself contained as such an injury would have forced any other horse to be put down. Artoria's armour had defended her from the majority of the explosion's force but it didn't make her any less MURDEROUSLY ANGRY on account of her gallant steed being harmed. She gently caressed Llamrei's neck to calm him. "Stay here. Rest." She then rose to her feet and scowled at the man in the floating chair. "I'm going to kill you." The gravitas to Artoria's voice It was rare she really felt any emotion nowadays but the injury dealt to Llamrei? That she would not forgive. She picked her lance up from the ground and gripped it tightly a huge vortex of energy erupting from it suddenly. The lance's segments began to spin breaking the red crystals that grew from its surface. His floating chair may have been out of race of Artoria's lance physically....but it would not be out of range of the giant magical vortex her lance was capable of producing. The man vanished and reappeared even higher in the air bragging about a dragon only for him to summon bears and shrunken dinosaurs instead while rambling on about something called ether; whatever that was. The only thing Artoria really cared about were the minions in front of her....but even then she didn't really need to deal with them. She could easily just destroy him from here and indeed she would. "Pierce, devour! Thirteen fangs! Rhongomyniad!" The energy exploded from her lance and she swung it along side ways dragging it across the bears and dinosaurs gathered trying to eradicate them in a single blow, while purposefully avoiding Yarne's location as she had no real desire to injury him, before moving the lance upwards causing the vortex tyo end up flying directly towards the man on the chair. Normally Artoria tended to only remove half the restraints but she was IMMENSELY angry with this man (he had injured Llamrei) which was why instead of six restraints being unleashed, Artoria had unleashed ten of them. It would be enough, provided nothing unexpected happened, to hopefully eradicate Belthor's minions and the man himself. Unless this gaudy peasant had a fancy trick up his sleeve the sheer potent power of Rhon would obliterate him which would be good; she was not a naive girl that refused to accept killing people was an effective solution to a problem. |
