The story of how Gorgon had ended up in the middle of this field of grass face to face with a simply gigantic snake was a long fuzzy tail but it was a secondary factor! The snake that called this area home for some reason (it was within the shadow of an active volcano) demanded the former servant's attention. Gorgon's tendrils hissed as the Avenger sat upon her tail, raised above the ground, locking her gaze intensely upon this very strange looking serpent. The serpent returned the gaze and hissed in return rearing upwards. The Seviper exposed it's maw to reveal the sharpened fangs it sported easily looking down on Gorgon thanks to its sheer length; A two meter long snake was unheard of in any "normal" world and might seem intimidating but not to Gorgon. She may not have had any real reason to fight this snake...but as it lunged at her she was forced to fight back. The Seviper's lunge was fast and strong which, sadly, forced Gorgon into a contest of strength. She grabbed the serpent's mouth and attempted to fight it off stopping the snake from biting her by grabbing both of its jaws and holding them open.

Of course....that was when, with a screech, a shadow descended over Gorgon and from above came a silver bird. It swooped down and lashed out at the Seviper aggressively pecking at it. Immediately the force behind the snake's bite lessened and Gorgon broke away from the tussle. The snake would soon counter attack against the Skarmory attempting to coil around the metallic bird. Fortunately, the Skarmory was smarter than that (as one would expect from a bird) and so flew up into the air avoiding the Seviper's attempt at binding them. "Hmp....red in tooth and claw I suppose..." deciding to take advantage of this distraction Gorgon decided she would observe the conflict unfolding before her. The Skarmory seemed to have the advantage with its ability to fly allowing it to under take hit and run strategies. However....the snake was not utterly beaten. Its size and the fact it had repeatedly spit a glob of purple sludge through thew air did allow it to fight back. Since a certain adventure in a castle of memories Gorgon had generally felt.....more at peace? It was why she was not adverse to watching these strange lifeforms battle...but did that mean she was actually enjoying herself? The curiosity that bade her stay and observe was a new emotion for Gorgon; one she still struggled to understand.

Jeanne only had one thought concerning the location in which she had wound up: screw this place.

She was already inconvenienced by having to change her manner of dressing, finding out extremely quick that running around in armor and brandishing weapons was so out-of-the-ordinary in this world that it would benefit her to blend in, even if she did not want to. She had, begrudgingly, opted for a short zipper dress, boots, and a fur-lined, hooded jacket. She had been so sure that this way, she'd be able to survey this place in peace. However, as with all things, she had underestimated the ability to be irritated by everything.

She had already covered a vast distance since her arrival, having traversed a rather hot path close to a desert, where she was mobbed by a large group of... what she could barely call "dragons", as they shared more qualities with insects than any of the beasts she had set upon France in the past. Still, the swarming was not hostile-- they seemed to sense that she was kin, and seemed to form a friendly cloud around her as she passed through. Though they were not ferocious by any standard, she did not hate them. It was merely a mobile inconvenience. As she had moved east, however, through the ashen town of Fallarbor and and south from that path, she began to see large flocks of blue bird-like creatures with clouds for wings. Small and large, they perched around the path she moved along, curiously filling the area in ways that made passing people gape. The other creatures in this world seemed to ignore her... so why the birds? There was no way, not one, that these things could possibly be dragons. Nothing so disgustingly adorable could possibly be.

Grumbling, deciding that she may have had enough of this cartoonishly peculiar world, Jeanne made her way into a clearing where... the oddest thing she'd ever seen was unfurling. Jeanne was a woman used to time travel, watching servants take over places they ought not, and ancient evils flooding peaceful places. But something in this scene was so ridiculously out of place, even she was stunned for a moment.

Two creatures native to the world were duking it out-- a large, silver bird that appeared to be made of some sort of metal, and a black, serpentine creature with long fangs. This did not appear out of the ordinary, However, that was not her concern. It was the energy that filled the air. This was nothing ordinary-- this was mana. This was another servant. Observing the natural tussle was a gigantic woman with the lower half of a serpent. The tendrils atop her head were in the same color spectrum as three other servants Jeanne loved to hate-- and that could only mean one line of relation. She squinted, opting to ignore the creatures for a moment, to lean against a sign post, some distance away. She did not possess presence concealment as a skill, but she was well-disguised. Sort of. She wondered how long the other servant would take to notice her.

As if sensing her unease, the swarm of Swablu and Altaria perched around her in a protective semi-circle. They did not interfere, but their presence, even if their goofy appearance wasn't what Jeanne was used to, was almost calming. She preferred creatures to people. Perhaps this place was not all that bad. Perhaps.

A girlish sqeeing sounded from a nearby path. "Look, Aunt Iji," the speaker was a youngster in a blue sundress, with a purple sash around her waist and a matching ribbon holding back her wavy brown hair. She was bouncing excitedly, pointing at the fluffy swarm surrounding Jeanne. "There's so many of them! Hey! Hey, lady!" she called to Jeanne, waving furiously. "How'd you get so many Altaria!?"

Next to her, a tall woman in a green, lace-trimmed uniform winced slightly. Despite the differences in their ages there was a clear resemblance between the two in the shape of their faces and the long cascades of thick brown hair. "Mia," she admonished, "if you shout like that you're going to scare off the pokemon."

The little girl seemed abashed momentarily, but the rebuke didn't seem to dampen her enthusiasm in the slightest.

The two Pokemon continued to clash exchanging blows but it seemed the fight was at a stalemate; a true shame...Gorgon had been hoping that the overgrown serpentine creature would win. It was no surprise that Gorgon, of all people, would have felt a certain bias towards the snake. However...more interestingly was the arrival of a women with a foul expression surrounded by....a horde of flying clouds? No they were not clouds but in fact immensely strange looking birds or at least that was what they looked like. God knows how the animals of this world actually worked. Gorgon's gaze honed in on the woman surrounded by the birds and at first she assumed her to be just another human but, with a few sniffs of the air courtesy of Gorgon's hair, it turned out this flag girl was anything but. God that was even worse...humans sucked but humans turned into servants were even more annoying. They were little more than jumped up worms that dared assume they had any worth! Humans were only good to serve as a source of mana! Or that was the belief Gorgon buried her heart in.

Rising above the ground the Avenger slithered towards Jeanne having apparently lost interest, but admiring the snake none the less, in the fight between the strange creatures. Keeping a distance of a foot or two Gorgon sat upon her tail employing one of her tendrils as an arm rest. With an arm propping up the Avenger's head one could tell that, even though Gorgon's face was mostly covered by a mask, her expression was one of irritation. If the half-expression was not enough of an indicator Gorgon's mood would be further betrayed by her snake tendrils; they hissed aggressively making mock lunges at both Jeanne and her entourage of winged rodents. The awkwardness in the air was palpable as Gorgon's tendrils merely continued to hiss at Jeanne and her backup dancers; the serpentine women had no real idea of how to start this conversation her immense lack of social skills biting her in the tail yet again. One might think this situation between two servants, of the same class as that not that either knew, would easily spark a full on fight....but that was when an even worse nuisance arrived! An actual human!

God this was annoying....but you know.....oddly enough Gorgon could not bring herself to hate he small child's boundless enthusiasm. God this was annoying....With an exasperated sigh Gorgon pulled her mask free from her face and groaned exhaustively. "Tch....fine. I suppose the presence of this child forces me to speak." A knowing look aimed towards Jeanne made it very clear that Gorgon was well aware of who she was but more importantly what she was. "I have no real desire to hide my identity and there is no war I am partaking in. As I am a monster either way....my name is Gorgon." Her voice had abandoned the irritated tone from before and was merely one of exasperation already exhausted by the fact she had to bother engaging with conversation with a human and a human turned servant. Gorgon turned her gaze to the parent of the human child and stared. "The serpent and the metallic bird. What are they human?" Her curiosity was abound as for once in a very long time Gorgon could actually express emotions beyond unrelenting hatred; of course that did not alter the aggressive undertones to Gorgon's voice whenever she mentioned the word human as her experiences with them did still arouse certain.....emotions shall we say.

Far too much was happening.

Jeanne had little desire to deal with children, especially ones that would be so forward to a complete stranger. She had not wanted to remove her watchful gaze from the other, but when addressed by the young child, Jeanne squinted down at her and gave a wicked smile. Her only interest lied with the snake woman, but if she got to inspire something akin to dread in a human in the process, then she would consider the interaction a win. Vermin, the lot of them.

"Because I asked them too, little one," she murmured, looming over the child. "They recognize their best option for victory when they see it."

She actually hadn't the faintest idea why so many of these creampuff creatures had decided to cast their lot in with her, but she wasn't going to complain. With the way the humans spoke, it was easy to deduce that this behavior was abnormal, even for such odd little monsters. Had she heard their name correctly? Pokemon? What... a stupid thing to call them. Turning her attentions back to the giant serpentess, Jeanne tossed her hair, seeming satisfied with her willingness to be forward.

"So you do know, then" she remarked. "I did not think there was a war. If there was, I would have already won it."

She examined the joints of her gauntlets lazily, like a woman examining a new manicure. She had immediately dismissed anything in the present vicinity as a direct threat, as all these creatures and people seemed so horrendously docile. If the lamia had no war, she had no quarrel, and Jeanne didn't have to care about her getting in the way of her army-amassing endeavors. Such an outocme was favorable, as this woman did not strike Jeanne as someone who would so willingly help her. Not like the Berserker, who sat beneath the shade of a tree many yards away.

"I was simply drawn in by your mana.... Gorgon," she added, her smile taut. "You may, normally, call me Avenger. ... but, since you so curteously extended your name, mine is... Jeanne."

Little Mia had been so obsessed with the impressive cloud of floof surrounding Jeanne, that she didn’t really notice Gorgon until she spoke. Wide-eyed, mouth agape, the child looked up at the unearthly woman. Trembling, the the little girl asked "You’re a monster? Like a Pokemon? That’s SO COOL!" the child gushed. Only by snatching the collar of the girl’s shirt was Iji able to keep her from dashing forward for a closer look. "You’re like one of those special, talking Pokemon! Except they’re Pocket Monsters and you don’t look like you’d fit in anyone’s pockets!"

For her part, Iji kept her squirming niece pressed firmly against her leg while gripping a slender strap slung over her shoulder with her other hand. Both Jeanne and Gorgon would be able to see the long, blocky device that hung from the strap, but the anomaly’s body obscured most of the details.

In response to Gorgon’s command, Iji eyed the being cautiously, but her niece had no such reservations. "The bird is a Skarmory! The metal feathers on their wings grow back every year so they can stay super-sharp. The snake is a Ser... no Scep... wait, Seviper! That’s the one! They have a blade on their tail that’s like an extra fang, with poison and everything!"

At the rather overt display of hostility from Jeanne, Iji glared and shifted slightly to put more of her body between that avenger and her young charge, exposing more of her bulky weapon in the process. Completely oblivious to this interplay, Mia leaned out and said “Wow! If all you had to do was ask, you must be one of the best trainers ever! How do you deal with Ice types? I bet you have to take them out quick so they don’t have a chance to do extra damage!"

Iji listened intently as the two introduced themselves, Especially at Jeanne's insistent use of the term Avenger. The anomaly had recently met a handful of people who went by a strange title to obscure their names, and one in particular - called Assassin - had managed to get on her nerves. Clearly these names were important, and she made a mental note to remember them, along with the faces they belonged to. Of course, with everyone else introduced, it was only polite that she do the same. With a sigh that in no way lessened the intensity of her gaze she said "Well, my name is Iji, and this little rascal here," she gave a gentle tug on the little girl's clothing, "is my niece Mia."

Gorgon sighed and merely made a mental note to keep an eye on this girl. Her arrogance was stifling and it was quite simply aggravating. Arrogance was a human sin one that a servant would be better off leaving behind....of course a lot of servants had once been human so perhaps Gorgon was asking too much. A faint hissing escaped Gorgon's tendrils as she listened to further arrogance from the part of this "Jeanne." "Even if there was a war I would not be eligible to compete. I am not a servant anymore. My saint graph was shattered by my own will." Which meant that Gorgon was in fact not a servant at all but instead of a true reincarnation which sadly, well sadly for Jeanne anyway, rendered her far more "complete" than the dragon witch. The goddess's gaze casually rolled towards the figure resting under a tree. "And who is your pet over there I wonder?" A stench of death emanated from that red servant resting under the tree which obviously put Gorgon at edge but not only for her own sake. She may not have liked humans....but she felt a certain sense of empathy towards their children; perhaps it was a fact that they reminded the former goddess of a happier past.

On the subject of children Gorgon's gaze casually rolled down to look at Mia and she found herself more than a little taken aback by her babbling. Normally when people, humans especially, called Gorgon a monster it was with terror and fear but this child seemed oddly....excited? It was a little embarrassing as evidenced by the startled manner in which Gorgon blinked. "I...yes I am a monster..." A heavy sigh escaped her lips as her once startled expression turned into one which could only be described as tormented. "But no...I am not like these Pokemon you refer to....I'm something far far worse....wait you think I am....cool?...That....I am unsure how to feel about that...." Of course even though being called what she was still stung (it was a very deep wound) even Gorgon was a little stunned about being called cool. The nervous blush from before had returned a few shades darker than before but what really gave Gorgon's true feelings away were one of her tendrils acting rebelliously; they were often a little bit uncontrollable given how prone their were to acting on the base emotions or thoughts of Gorgon. It was a rather embarrassing soft spot actually.

One of Gorgon's tendrils extended forwards and thet next thing Mia would discover would be the tendril inches away from her face staring at her. It was not an angry stance this solitary tendril had adopted merely a curious one. Gorgon on the other hand shared Iji's feelings that this Jeanne women was dangerous. Yes Gorgon hated humans but...as she was free of her saint graph she was no longer compelled to only hate them. It had been an odd experience exploring emotions she had long since forgot one of which just so happened to be empathy. That empathy was why she decided to do Iji one small kindness."Be careful of this woman. Me and her may both detest humanity....but I have no reason to visit my anger upon you...or the child." Yes especially the child that had so positively responded to Gorgon's monstrous nature. If the worst came to worst and this Jeanne woman did in fact attempt to do anything violent....well..Gorgon would intervene partially out of concern for the child but also because she didn't want to spit upon the sacrifice her now deceased sisters had made. It was a painful memory to say the list one Gorgon truly did not wish to revisit.

In the background the large snake like creature, known as a Seviper apparently, managed to finally claim victory over the Skarmory. With a lighting fast move the Skarmory found itself bitten and injected with a rather healthy dosage of venom painful enough to convince the silver coloured bird to beat a hasty retreat. "Child...Mia was it?...How does one traditionally tame one of these....Pokemon?" She smiled slightly, very very slightly, at Mia expressing her curiosity in just how one tamed these Pokemon traditionally. While Gorgon's attention, coupled with one of her tendril's, was focused on the child her remaining three kept a close watch on Jeanne and her cronies. None of them could be trusted at this stage especially given Jeanne's undisclosed motivation for being here. Lured in by mana was one thing but that did not necessitate a conversation; she could have merely observed from a distance which implied she had certain alternative motivations. "Why are you here Jeanne?" The distrust was palpable as Gorgon moved her body between Mia and Jeanne while the tendril from before? It had decided to nuzzle, or try to, Mia's chin.

Jeanne straightened her form, squinting at this odd little gathering with a measure of distaste across her features. How long was she going to have to be amicable among strangers, especially ones she had no judge of power from? Tip-toeing was not her specialty, and having to do so did not sit well with her general sense of personality. Still, reading the situation, knowing when to relent to more proper manners, Jeanne withdrew into herself and made a short attempt to be mindful of the tendrils of hatred that emanated from her. As she turned to address the young one's question first, it became plain o her face that Jeanne had not a clue what Mia was talking about. What did ice have anything to do with it? Clicking her tongue, she controlled her temper and asked the child a question, rather plainly.

"Do these creatures have some arbitrary correlation to elemental weakness? You must tell me, I wish to know," she remarked, oddly serious about the matter.

As she waited for the child to formulate a response, she turned back to Gorgon, her eyebrows raised in muted shock.

"You.... shattered your own Saint Graph? How can such a thing be?" she asked flatly. "I have never known such a feat to be possible. This means you have loosed the restrictive chains on your anchor to existence."

She regarded the lamia for a long time, her jaw set in a determined manner. She may not be very adept at dealing with other people, and while the woman before her would be correct in assuming there was no need to approach her if mana was her only concern, Jeanne found she could not help it. Since her time within Chaldea, she found the lack of other servants around to be irritating, even if she had a 'pet', or so to speak. What was it that she felt? She dismissed it as loneliness, she would hear none of that. No matter what, the one goal she would be forthcoming about was the one that brought her purpose. However, she understood tact, and did not touch upon it again.

"This is simply where I was first... brought, if you will. I am naturally inclined to hear the speaking of dragons, and a place with such high density of them... of course it would call to me. It is much less malicious than you seem to think it is, Gorgon," she murmured, tucking a stray hair behind her ear.

The little girl giggled at Gorgon's blush, then gasped as the woman's hair snaked toward her. Iji's free hand instinctively released her young charge and curled protectively over the girl's head. The tiniest of sparks danced across her fingertips as she readied herself to react to any mischief the tendril might enact. The silvery laugh of her niece held her back from any immediate action, however. "You have really nice hair, miss," she said, hesitantly half-reaching for the extended lock. She glanced at her guardian. "I like her, Aunt Iji, She's funny."

Iji, for her part, was still wary. She didn't have a clue about Servants and Glyphs, and she didn't much care, but she couldn't think of a way to extricate herself politely - especially not with Mia so fascinated by this strange pair. She pondered the snake-haired woman's warning for a moment. "I'll keep that in mind," she said evenly, eyes flicking warily back and forth between the two nearly-hostile women. Detest humanity? Hopefully she meant that metaphorically or hyperbolically rather than literally, but either way it wasn't something she wanted to be dealing with in front of her niece. If a fight broke out, then politeness be damned, she was grabbing Mia and hauling out as fast as she could.

Mia frowned at the Lancer's question. She hmmed a bit before she worked her way to an answer. "Well, dragons are scaly, y'know? The cold sinks through their scales. It makes them super-sensitive to Ice moves. And then Altaria, they have great big fluffy wings that ice can gather on so they're doubly-sensitive to Ice types." She bit her lip and squirmed a bit, then asked. "If you can talk to dragons, do you think you could, maybe... I guess, ask if they'd let me pet them?"

Then the humanoid snake-woman made a terrible, horrible mistake. She asked about catching Pokemon. In front of Mia. The child's eyes lit up like emerald stars, and words could barely pour from her mouth fast enough. "You're gonna be a trainer too? That's super cool!" She practically danced in place as she spoke. "Well, first thing is you've got to weaken them. Most people have their own pokemon for that. Do you have your starter yet? And then you use a pokeball to catch it. Do you have any pokeballs on you?" She'd gotten so excited that she'd forgotten about the tendril of hair, and when it nuzzled her she gasped, then giggled. The girl reached up and tentatively patted the curious lock and said, "Miss, your hair is really soft."

Gorgon kept to herself for the most part keeping on eye on her fellow Avenger and the pet servant she dragged around with her. Still, whichever class Jeanne's pet servant was, he did seem to be rather calm..so the likelihood of a berserker was rather low which was a good thing. For the time being Gorgon remained silent merely trying not to reveal just how uncomfortable she was. However the serpent's lack of comfort was not due to disliking being in this situation, in fact she had a rather soft spot for children, but being complimented was something she was just....not used to. "Yes I am well aware of what it means. I've felt....different since. The murderous hatred I feel towards humans has been...lessened considerably since then. I'm....honestly unsure what to really do with my freedom of emotion." Beyond that Gorgon didn't really want to speak more on the subject. It was a highly personal thing but since then, as she had said, Gorgon's feelings towards humans had gone from murderous hatred to apathy/irritation. Of course she still had no real issue murdering them, violently, if the situation warranted such a thing.

"My what? No you. What?!" God damn it!...Here was Gorgon trying to play this cool but her inner soft side was bring drawn out by the compliments. God damn it this was annoying! She needed a change of subject! Anything would do! No matter what it was it had to be a lot better than the current one! Gorgon was not funny! Her hair was not pretty! And she was most definitely not cool! Damn stupid humans....Luckily enough the change of subject did come around as Mia's eye lit up and she began to ramble on and on about these Pokemon creatures. Perhaps this was a case of one needing to be careful of what they wish for but oh well! The change of subject was what Gorgon had asked for and so she would simply have to begrudgingly tolerate it; still perhaps this sudden burst of excitement from Mia would prove to be for the best...she was answering Gorgon's questions after all. Of course it did come at the cost of Mia apparently forgetting all about Gorgon's hair..but perhaps that was for the very best!

"A...trainer? I am unsure. I merely have a preference for serpents but..." Gorgon looked down at her body before twisting her head to look over her shoulders at her hair. "Perhaps that is down to my unique....features but what is a trainer? One who commands these creatures?....and no I do not have one of these starters. I'm not even sure what they are." It seemed like one required a Pokemon to in fact weaken other Pokemon and then capture them with something called a Pokeball....but was it really required to use a Pokemon? Gorgon was pretty, well relatively in truth, powerful herself and so could probably "weaken" the snake like Pokemon through her own efforts that is if weaken meant to exhaust their stamina. Of course that was when Mia just had to stroke the extended tendril and she just HAD to say Gorgon's hair was soft. "Soft?....I suppose that is true....I am not used to people saying my hair is soft. More often than not they're too preoccupied running in terror from it..." The serpentine female sighed heavily as the Seviper began to slither away back into the tall grass. It seemed Gorgon's chance at capturing a Pokemon for herself was about to be lost but oh well...she had no Pokeballs whatever on earth they were.
