The interviews Kondraki managed to gather about the Multiverse and its anomalies were certainly not a waste of time, but Kondraki could only go so far with them. If he wanted to prove to the Foundation that he hadn’t just finally snapped and gone insane, he needed to either bring back a live specimen or as many detailed pictures as he possibly could. Bringing a specimen could prove to be much more trouble than it was worth, and in all honesty Kondraki was in the mood for some picture-taking, so he ultimately decided to take the latter option. And so, Kondraki now found himself in the region of Alola, more specifically Ula’Ula Island. As it stood, Kondraki felt like he was in heaven, for somehow Alola had managed to combine two of his basest desires: Hawaii and thousands upon thousands of opportunities for easy Foundation money. Kondraki had spent the last three or so days sneaking around the island, taking pictures of Pokémon left and right, whether they be wild or caught. Eventually though, word of mouth was bound to spread of a creepy man in need of a shower sneakily taking photos of Pokémon, trainers’ Pokémon. Considering this region’s previous experiences with people eyeing other people’s Pokémon, this didn’t bode too well for the good Doctor. At the present, Kondraki was marauding Malie Garden, hoping to get clear shots of some of the rarer Pokémon rumored to roam the area. Though his intentions were neutral in morality, the sight of a man with his appearance eerily hiding inside a bush and occasionally peeking his head out did not help his case. The Aether Foundation's Beautiful President

It honestly wasn't too big of a deal to patrol Malie City as a whole. It was small and peaceful, and though Ula'ula Island was still the home of Team Skull their presence around the city had diminished with the opening of the Pokemon League atop Lanakila. It didn't really make much sense for them to exert their influence too close or even past the League Officials' watchful eye, after all. So naturally the two Aether Foundation Employees walking along the Malie Garden were bored out of their minds. "Hey, Bruce, don't you think things have been a little weird at the Paradise lately?" A female Enforcer with long dyed blue hair tied into two ponytails walked along the path. "I haven't really been paying too much attention." Her partner was a bespectacled man wearing what looked like a lab coat, though open at the bottom and flaring back outwards otherwise. The man was strangely well built for a scientist, though, with a tall frame and buzz cut black hair beneath the traditional hat all Aether employees wore. Of course, his uniform retained the usual slacks and boots all other positions wore, as well as the golden emblem on his breast. "Though with Manager Faba's disappearance we've had our hands full downstairs for a while. Have you had any news on Team Skull, Jenny?" "None at all." She sighed and shrugged. "It's like they just stopped acting up when the President came back. Haven't seen hide nor hair of their new leader either. Oh, but I did get some information for you guys to use. The Ultra Energy readings have flared up lately in other parts of the Multiverse. Other Scientists have set up a station near the Observatory to survey nearby planets. They haven't had the time to go back to the Paradise, though, so I was hoping you could take their reports with you." "Sounds good." Bruce reached up to adjust his glasses, though he noticed an odd man around the Garden, also wearing a lab coat and acting suspiciously. Truthfully, he had heard about rumors of some odd shady-looking guy harassing trainers in various parts of Alola through other coworkers. Jenny didn't happen to notice immediately, but her partner's sudden silence clued her into noticing the man as well. "Let's go see." The Enforcer was the first to step towards him with purpose, the hand beneath her cape already silently grasping a Great Ball. She stopped a few feet before the bush and cleared her throat. "Sir." Her tone changed from her previous casual one to a trained authoritative voice reminiscent of a police officer. "Could we ask you a few questions? It'll just take a moment of your time." |

The urge to light a cigarette was strong, but it would’ve more than likely shooed nearby Pokémon away (plus, lighting anything while inside a bush wasn’t exactly a genius idea). His camera was set and ready to take non-lethal pictures of anything that moved, and within a few minutes of waiting he spotted an unusual-looking creature within the edge of the tall grass. He wasn’t sure how exactly to describe it, but… if he had to, he’d call it a floating ball of cotton with eyes and leaf stubs for arms. He steadied his position, triggered the zoom on 515-ARC and… Suddenly, Kondraki’s attention was caught by relatively loud fluttering and a forceful tickling on his shoulder. Upon swiveling his neck to look at the source, the scientist found a couple of SCP-408 butterflies in the shape of an arrow pointing behind him. Hesitantly and begrudgingly, Kondraki stood up and faced whatever 408 thought worrisome enough to warrant warning him of it. Damn, of course the local authorities had to butt in. If they started asking questions about his photos, he’d probably have to either make some bullshit up or most likely get taken in for further questioning; not to mention that 515-ARC’s current roll had more than just Multiverse photos on it, and he couldn’t afford to let them check through it. Truth be told, Kondraki hadn’t planned this far ahead. Then, in a rush of adrenaline, an idea struck him. Aside from the couple butterflies that had manifested to warn Kondraki of these two, 408 remained invisible, though Kondraki knew it was there. He lightly tapped the wings of a 408 butterfly he could feel perched under his palm before pointing at the officers’ feet with his thumb. Hopefully it got the gist. “…Sure.” Kondraki replied, drawing out his speech to buy 408 time. “What do you need to know, officers?” He waited a bit further and allowed the two Aether employees to ask their first set of questions, all the while off-handedly cranking up the flash dial on 515-ARC to a temporarily blinding though not permanently damaging level. After they’d asked away and Kondraki felt sure 408 had had enough time to do as he asked, he raised the anomalous camera to eye level. “Sorry, I’m not allowed to say.” *FLASH* With the press of a button, the two employees would have their sights overloaded for a good five or so seconds. If after this they tried to chase Kondraki down, they’d find that their feet were bound together by two sets of cuffs connected to each other and binding them together that weren’t there a few seconds ago. “Fuck. This wasn’t supposed to cause major complications!” Kondraki muttered to himself as he ran away, the rest of 408’s body materializing beside him out of stress. |

Meanwhile, above the skies of Alola... "Flying implement stable." The clouds parted as a flying android zipped through the skies, propelled by a bulky pair of rockets that resembled the wings of a certain pair of Legendary Pokemon, though these were in a bright shiny silver with the gold logo of the Aether Foundation burned onto their sides. "Speed control..." The jets flared up harder than before. "Online. Steering..." The whole ensemble turned upwards and did a couple of twirls and flips, drawing loops and performing u-turns at the blink of an eye. "Perfectly functional. Project Lati testing successful." 2E stared down at the distant landmasses as she flew over the island of Ula'ula. It was quite a distance away from the Aether Paradise, but that just proved the durability of the new project the Foundation was working on. The armored plating prevented the wind from damaging her artificial skin, while her android body was perfect for withstanding the massive amounts of G-Forces that came from piloting the one-man glorified jetpack. "Returning to ba-" A beeping sound disrupted her report. "Distress signal received. Moving to land in T-Minus one minute..." With a lack of hesitation, the Enforcer unit twisted the jets down and aimed for the entrance of the Malie Garden... --- "Oh, wonderful!" Jenny was glad the man happened to be cooperative, and just sighed in relief. "Honestly, we've just been hearing some rumors of someone disturbing passersby by photographing them and their Pokemon without their consent." The Enforcer's right hand, hidden by the cape draped over her side, slid a hand over a Great Ball on her belt. "So, we'd like to see the photos in your camera, if you wouldn't mind." Bruce jumped to the point, and though he held his hand out with a sharp look in his eyes, it didn't take long before he had to pull it back to shield them from the coming blast. "GAH! What the?!" The two jumped at the sudden flash, with Jenny as a trained Enforcer tossing her Great Ball up in the air as a reflex. "Dammit! Gabite, come out!" The Great Ball cracked open with a flash of energy, which quickly shot towards the ground and reformed into what looked like a purple bipedal land shark. The Gabite roared at the running man, who by now had a sizeable lead over it, before it started to run at a speed befitting the kind of animal it was. Bruce, however. "Tch..." He tried to move, but found himself falling to the floor with just a small movement. His hand dug into his labcoat to retrieve a small transceiver. "Calling the nearest Enforcer unit, we need reinforcements to chase down a fleeing suspect, currently heading towards the entrance of the Malie Garden!" Not a second after he finished, a green light showing confirmation lit up in his transceiver... ...and of course, that could only mean one thing. Just as the entrance was in sight, Kondraki would hear the ever-closer sounds of a jet engine approaching right from above. The Project Lati wings decoupled from 2E's body as she twisted in the air, using her legs as makeshift landing gear as she crashed into the tiled floor just in front of the Garden. The android's impact lifted a sizeable cloud of dust into the air that would presumably block proper visibility and therefore assurance of safety beyond the garden's entrance. Though, that was no issue given her scanner. "Halt." The android spoke concisely but harshly, the large blade hovering on her back gradually forming as the dust cloud cleared away. Though it was hidden by her visor, 2E stared at the fleeing man with a passive look, simply drawing a curved-bladed sword from her hip. "...only one target." Project Lati finally hovered down, staying around 2E's back while a single eye opened on each of the wings. "No, multiple. Two hostiles, several bodies." The scanners on the wings analyzed the surroundings around the man. "Pincer strategy recommended... Enforcer unit, moving out." Just as she finished speaking, Gabite had managed to catch up and quickly block the way back inside the Garden, directly opposite 2E's position. In the meantime, Jenny had managed to draw a combat knife and cut the binding butterflies apart to free herself and Bruce, who were currently running to provide aid to the Enforcer unit. "I suggest surrendering, as damaging your device does not warrant us replacing it or repairing it." 2E bent her knees and pulled a foot back, ready to leap forward and engage at a moment's notice. |

Kondraki – understandably – took a few steps back when the kinetic rod of a woman landed in front of him. “…Christ, who the fuck am I dealing with here?” Once the cloud of dust had cleared and his enemy was clearly visible, Kondraki couldn’t help but sigh. The rapidly approaching purple dragon-raptor thingamafuck didn’t go unnoticed either, and it was cutting down on Kondraki’s options faster than he’d be cutting down on his body if he didn’t do something immediately. “So, this is how it’s gonna be, eh?” The swarm of 408 stood by, awaiting instructions. “Alright, I surrender.” He said as he raised both of his hands. One hand, however, touched one of the butterflies gently and communicated something through Morse code. In lightning-fast, unanimous agreement, the butterflies that surrounded Kondraki split into two groups: One of them flocked around Kondraki’s right hand and assumed the shape of a cautionary fencing gauntlet while his left hand reached into a compartment in his shorts, from which he pulled SCP-108-2 and carried it over to his gauntleted hand. The other group of butterflies gathered behind Kondraki and took the form of… Kondraki, wielding the same supernatural saber he was. “You take the pokemon, I’ll take the lady.” “Don’t test me, woman. This ain’t gonna end well for either of us.” |
