Hi there,

I'm new here, I've been thinking retrospectively lately, must be getting to that stage in life lol.

Apologies if this has been brought up before but like I say I'm new so please forgive me. I've often thought, how cool would it be if Sky had a "retro channel". A channel that would show all those classic cartoons and programmes from the '80s, they could even have it split over 2 channels "retro Uk" and "retro Us". One channel you could have programmes like Grange Hill and on the other channel you would have Degrassi High. In between programmes they could have retro adverts too, like the Milk Tray advert, and those magic public information films, I notice that some classic t.v. adverts seem to be making a re-appearance lately so those channels would be perfect for them.

Anyway, that's my thoughts, I think it would be t.v. heaven and I'm sure it would be extremely popular with us of the 30+ age group

you should look up how the Cartoon Network started, like all new channels the easiest programmes to get are the older ones, so at the start of the cartoon channels era they would show nothing but the old school cartoons and shows, then as they got more established and had more money eventually they got all the new stuff and the older shows got replaced.

We have "Teletoon Retro" here in Canada. It seems to show stuff before the 80s though...and you have to pay extra to get it...but it's a start.
