Hi people,
i was browsing the net for an answer to this question when i found this neat little website, so i thought maybe i'd ask here :D

I'm not 100% sure whether this is a strictly a 80s cartoon, or an early 90s cartoon, but anyway...

The show revolved around a group of Humans battling a group of skeletons on 'Star Wars'-style hover bikes in some kind of post-apocolyptic setting. I 'think' the leader of the humans had some kind of special sword or weapon of some sort. A key feature of the skeletons was that they were changed into these strange creatures by a crystal that was inserted into their ribcage, and could change back if the crystal was removed....

I used to really enjoy this show as it was one of the few shows i remember where they actually had a concluding episode( i remember this episode included a large river of lava at some point...), i just can't for the life of me, remember it's name!

I hope my description wasnt too vague

Thanks in advance!

- Tristan

Kinda sounds like Skeleton Warriors, the leader of the humans did have a sword in this and i remember the crystals. I think a big one was split in two which each side had a part of.

From SideReel

The story takes place on the distant planet of Lumimaire. The conflict of the plot revolves around the near to control the Lightstar Crystal. This powerful crystal powers the great city of Luminicity. Baron Dark, the show's main villain, tried to steal the crystal in order to gain control over its incredible power. He only succeeded in obtaining half of the crystal, with the other half being obtained by Prince Lightstar.

The half of the crystal that the Baron Dark managed to obtain turned him into a living skeleton. It also gave him the power to turn those with evil hearts into living skeletons for his army. Each episode involves both Prince Lightstar and the Baron Dark attempting to obtain the other half of their respective crystals in order to gain control over the planet.

Prince Lightstar forms part of the Legion of Light. It consists of Justin Lightstar a.k.a. Prince Lightstar, Joshua Lightstar a.k.a. Grimskull, and Jennifer Lightstar a.k.a. Talyn. They also have been endowed with great powers through their half of the Crystal. They team together with their uncle Ursak to battle the evil Baron Dark. While Baron Dark is transformed into an undead skeleton and given the ability to transform other living beings into his Skeleton Warriors, the Legion of Light gains other fantastic abilities. Lightstar gains the ability to channel energy through his hands, Talyn gains the power of flight, and Grimskull is transformed into an undead creature similar to the Baron, but also has the power to travel through shadows.

The Skeleton Warrior action figures were great and I'm surprised too about how short the series was, I dont know about the series but I remember the toys were very popular.

Nah TCC showed it JM, around the 3ish mark if memory serves. It wasnt my favourite toon but it was on around the same time as Cadillacs and Dinosaurs so i usually watched it. TCC had a habit of playing the same show over and over, no matter how many times we'd seen em. Dunno how many times i saw the Saved by the Bell summer special where they all went to work in a summer hotel type beach thing
