Hey guys,

Just wondering if anybody might know the names of these incredibly obscure and short-lived cartoons from the 80s and early 90s.

One of them I only have half an episode recorded at home. It's a traditional 2D animation programme. I remember their voices were (unintentionally) creepy, almost 70s-ish. There was this girl/witch? who was on this train with this man/wizard? I remember they were talking about which came first, the chicken or the egg. The train was going backwards in time, and all sorts of things were going on to indicate the chicken and the egg thing, like a roast chicken turning into a chicken and then growing younger and turning into an egg...that sort of thing. Other than that there's very little I can remember.

Another show is some sort of stop-motion thing...not sure if it was puppetry or claymation. It was about a purple? pirate or monkey pirate or something on an island, and there were loads of coconuts around. Sort of like a Charlie Chalk kind of show 'cept with stop-motion. The look and feel of it was very stylised and brightly-coloured.

There was a traditional 2D animation show whose main character was, if I remember correctly, a large white dog or polar bear. Other than that I can't remember anything at all.

I think this one may have been a feature-length movie. I remember dogs, I think. Or similar sort of creatures, maybe even cats were involved. Except that they were humans but wore these lockets or something that turned them into animals. I vaguely remember there was a love-interest / romance theme. They may have had super powers. Traditional 2D, but I think it was in an anime/manga style instead of Western cartoon.

The last one is a show about a magic baby, or he had a magic bottle or a magic sandpit or something. I remember each episode he would make something new...he once turned his bottle into a giant spaceship that collected rubbish or something like that. He had some sort of sidekick too, but I really can't remember more than that.

Anybody got any ideas?

Just found out that the one with the train was called The Secret Railroad.

There are three more cartoons I've just thought of, also incredibly obscure.

One was of some sort of black or grey bird of some sort...maybe an adolescent penguin...I think he lived alone, but had a friend or something. I remember one episode he fell down a well or something and couldn't get out. If I remember correctly it was done in a rather cheap 2D animation style.

The second was stop-motion puppetry of items that lived under a boy's bed. A vacuum cleaner, hot water bottle, and some other things I can't remember. NOT Bump in the Night.

The other one is so vague it could almost be a figment of my imagination. I remember the main character was a small dog. 2D traditional. Must have been late 80s early 90s. I only ever saw one episode. I think they dog may have been blue, can't remember if it could talk or not. I seem to remember it belonged to a human family. I remember them going to the zoo.

There's alot of anime out there in which
characters turn into cats, (it's practically an entire genre)
but not many of them turn into dogs

Wowser was a Japanese co Dutch production.Cubitus or Wowser is based on a Dutch comic strip.

The Galatic Railroad was the influence for Galaxy Express 999 which is a Anime by Leiji Matsumoto.
