I used to have something simular, but it was a school and it was like the same figures. It had chalk boards and tables. It even had a bell to ring when you pretend it was break time or even home time.

The dreaded carboot sales!!

Mind you, I go to a few and spot so many wicked items!

I once went and ended up with the whole collection of the classic VHS board game Atmosfear. So sometimes I like carboot slaes but other times going back in the past, I didn't like them.

THE FOLLOWING IS AN ABSOLUTE TRUE STORY!!!!!......lol....rly it is....

When I was about 7 or 8, around 1982, I was on holiday with my parents in Norfolk (UK), and they took me to a beach side market.

There was a guy selling allsorts from the back of a lorry, saying things like 'For these saucepans you would pay £20 on the high street, but I don't want £20, I don't want £10, I just want £5!!', and everyone would go crazy for the stuff.

I loved the energy and spectacle of these guys and was even more pleased when they produced a 'Star Trek Communicator', as seen here -

Star Trek Communicator

I didn't have enough money to get a boxed one (£1.50), but the guy took pity on me and sold me his unboxed display model for £1...YAY!

Excitedly I took it back to the holiday park place and fired it up. This thing was meant to run with two other radios, so effectively on it's own it was useless, but it did look cool and the lights flashed so I was happy.

I continued to play with it, pressing buttons and saying hello etc, when suddenly I heard a voice!!!..some guy was talking to me!!!...crazy!!!

It turned out that this toy radio was set for the CB radio frequency, which would make sense i guess. This guy was at the same holiday place as us and I went to see him and his kids and he showed me round his CB radio...it was cool......

I think the next year i got a CB radio for my birthday, probably after watching the film Convoy....lol

Skip forward a few years and I come home from school at 12 or 13 and my mum has some bin bags full of things for the jumble sale.....I thought nothing of it until years later when I went to look for my Star Trek Communicator........NOOOOO!..it had gone to the jumble sale!!!.....a very harsh deal.....i really wish i still had that radio!!

: )
