Everyone will laugh at me, but...

I had a dark green battered old teddy, a bit like Mr Bean's teddy if anyone can remember that. It was a scabby old thing, but I loved it. It even had a name - Oggly Poggly!!!

Anyway, I remember my parents just threw it away without asking me, and I was devastated. Especially when I found out that the bin bags went to the incinerator. :(

Several of mine are on a shelf in my room  Nobodies touching 'em :P

I think I'd have been psycologically scarred if anyone had binned them.

Suddenly, out of the blue, your parents would decide that you were now "too old" to play with those kind of toys, and out they went. To be replaced by something crappy and educational. <_<

The loss of many of our (my brothers and I) old toys is not so much what our parents gave away (mostly soft animals), but what we failed to keep in decent condition—cars missing wheels, action figures w/o heads, board games w/ no pieces left, etc.—so we had to dispose of them simply to avoid clutter in our room.

By the time I was 11, I learned my lesson. The oldest and best-kept thing I got for Xmas from my childhood years is my 50th Anniversary Edition Monopoly board game—a replica of the original 1935 set.
