vivid memory of a kids programme

erm..is not a cartoon and it has been bugging me that i can recall many things but not a name! (i recently tracked down swat cats :D but i need help with this)

the programme i remember featured teams of a pair of kids who were taken up a high rise building in a lift (the lift talked to them)..at various floors they had to complete tasks to help them move up in the lift. one of these tasks was making it from one side of a black room to another moving a square at a time trying to avoid bumping into a v.sinister darth vader type.

another task (may be the final one) was to swin in a bowl of alphabet soup. the children were in a mock up of a very large kitchen and 1 child had to pass letters from the soup to the other child who would attempt to use them to spell words on the fridge.

this is my explanation..if anyone can help i'd be muchly happy :D

I remember it!! Definately wasnt Fun House...it was a whole lot o' fun and had prizes to be won. Could it be Double Dare?? I dont think I *ever* caught the beginning of it - if it wasn't a cartoon, I generally wasn't interested.

i'm not sure if it were doubledare or not, i remember the "bowl of alphabet soup" bit, i'm sure it was a bbc 1 show, with a black presenter who was quite excitable when going through the challenges... names are't my greatest memory, so could't say who he was

there was a darth vader type dude behind them too
and i think the presenter was black

but i dont remember any gunge

and it was only on less than a year ago

i also remember a kids gameshow called eat your words
but it was presented by a blond white fella and was on itv real early in the morning

on the show the kids had to eat wierd stuff like spuds and jam

it was a bit crap
