During a drunken conversation in the pub, me and friends were trying to work out what Master Yoda from Star Wars was. :questions:

I remembered there was this programme on around 1989 say about this wee dude who lived in a sand pit and kids would come up to hinm and ask him for stuff. Everyone else remembered it but couldn't remember what he was or what the programme was called?

:thanku:

It was called the psamead a childrens BBC programme about mid 90's I think, involving these 3 victorian children who would go to the sand pit where he lived and he would grant them 3 wishes. Is that the one?

Yes, but have you ever noticed how much Yoda resembles the original Doctor Who, William Hartnell? I was beeing geeky at a Doctor Who convention over the weekend (a William Hartnell centenary, no less) and they showed The War Machines. He even does that "humph" noise Yoda makes - and the tips of his ears are bent at a funny angle.
