Hi there. I am trying to remember the name of the dog in a Warner Brothers cartoon (I think). He had squinty eyes, talked rather slow, and with a nasal tone. He wore a straw hat and, if I recall properly, traveled, as I remember him carrying a brief case. Any clues?

Did he have really long droopy ears and looked miserable all the time? |

Yes! He seemed rather melancholy. Never really much excited him. He was also very resourceful, as he was able to get out of any kind of trouble. |

No, it's not droopy. This dog was rather short. I think he always wore his straw hat. |

No, I am not sure it was Warner Brothers. Perhaps Hanna Barbera? I was born in 1966, so it was a character created in the early 70s or before. definitely not Deputy Dog. The reason I ask is that I found a cookie jar that reminded me of him. Here is the picture of the cookie jar. Perhaps it will jog some memories. |

Not a real big chatter. Just trying to do some research and jog the aging brain of mine. Thanks for the invitation, however

Sounds very much like Huckleberry Hound to me, perhaps an earlier incarnation of him. |
