that was comedic though. tom and jerry would get smashed into weird shapes and we knew that couldn`t happen. this cartoon had more 'realistic' violence. My nephew laughs at tom and jerry as being funny, he`s never tried to copy them. |

Yeah but you could argue that it was teaching kids that violence is funny.

That reminds me. I also think that Pokemon was really stupid. I mean whats the point of trying to catch every single one. If you do then you are seen as a Pokemon Master. LAME-O. I mean come on, a PokeMon Master? That's all that happens if every Pokemon is caught? I also thought that Monster Rancher and Digimon was also very stupid. One cartoon that I know is good is called Yu-Yu- Hakusho. :skip:

yes they are different and cramp twins is rubbish anyways (ones evil  ) trouble is there's no morality anymore, thats the biggest difference between 80s cartoons and current ones, but as violence goes, its always around, the level of it in british soaps is rising all the time and come on - how can so many people suffer so much in such a small space  kids watch these programs too, and its bound to affect some

im 20 years old and i watch plenty of cartoons, ive been off work 4 6 months after an operation so all ive done is watch cartoons 4 6 months, toonami and fox kids. these days there are plenty of cool cartoons, on toonami there is teen titans which is ace, justice league is ok, ultimate muscle is comedy genious, i bought an import game 4 my gamecube its class. not 2 mention the original pokemon series, x-men evolution has brought a whoile new dimension 2 the x-men legacy + there are plenty of others. you just have 2 look at it this way, no matter what the decade or wotever, theres always gonna be crap cartoons, in the 80s there were crap cartoons like wuzzles and m.a.s.k. (i apologise to any mask fans out there thats just my personal opinion) just like there are crap cartoons now like, well pretty much anything on cartoon network. 1 more thing, dont be knocking tweenies and *beep* like that, kids love the stuff, my little bro watches *beep* like that all the time a well as real cartoons, i even got him watching my transformers dvd's! yeh anyway, thats my view. peace |

sorry if this offends but it is direct truth "they are designed for a dumber and more stupid generation" but then to comment on the teletubbies are they not just a modern equiv of bill and ben? The tweenies, well that level of programming is designed for really small kids but all i can compare to is 'tots tv' Aside from cartoons, it's reality tv shows and soaps that have the attention of the younger teenage audience as apposed to watching classic shows right the way through until they outgrew them, in which i could imagine a 5 year old could outgrow the rubbish we have today. |

I agree new cartoons are not good these days. However I'm enjoying th latest Batman cartoon and Justice League at the moment on Cartoon Network (or Toonami) However I do prefer the Batman cartoon from early 90's, I think thats the best superhero cartoon made, along with X-men and Spiderman cartoons |

Cartoons seem rubbish these days because you are still watching kids cartoons. Watch some adult cartoons. |

I do prefer the hand-coloured cartoons over the computerised ones which dominate now and often look very flat in comparison but the content of kids shows I think is just as good and sometimes better. Spongebob and Fairly Odd Parents are as good as any of the best shows I was watching on Nick and Cartoon Network 10 years ago. Still I would like to see a more traditional style of cartoon animation come back as the computer based stuff isnt the same! Cryotek |
