Anyone else remember this? It was based at an American high school, and centred around about 8 characters. Most of them were way older than high school age. The main character Zak was always getting into trouble, and constantly upsetting his girlfriend Kelly. The 'geek' was a little bloke called 'Screech'. Elizabeth Berkley was in it, with a terrible 80's poodle hairstyle! :D

I watched it every day in the summer holidays and always wanted to be Tiffani-Amber Thiessen (that was her real name, can't recall the character name). Some of the clothes e.g. flourescent cycling shorts with huge shirts over were quite vile. I agree with you that they seemed a lot older than they should have been, especially Zak Morris, the 'cool' blonde one.

My sister loved the show. Since I'm from America it still gets played as a rerun everyday from the very beginning. To be perfectly honest, seeing these reruns is making me sick. What kind of T.V. shows do you have in your country. I'll bet that they are much better then what I've got over here.

Well we have Friends, Will & Grace, The OC, Sex & The City, Everybody Loves Raymond... oh wait....

Of the ones actually made here there are:

Some crappy sitcoms, with the worst lines in history that you can hear clanking towards you an hour beforehand.
Some good soaps - I expect you've heard of Eastenders at least - miserable East Londoners but totally addictive or Coronation Street which is more cheerful Northerners.
Some excellently tacky dramas like Bad Girls- hilarious stuff in a woman's prison - last night someone had their fake nails ripped off and they are currently brewing hooch from rubarb in the kitchens. Also Cutting It - hairdressing drama where currently a girl and her mother have kids by the mother's ex but the mother's husband has made her believe it's his even though he and a geeky mate know that he's had the snip.
Some good documentaries - usually either currently about obese kids, plastic surgery or debt.
There is usually an adaptation of a classic book by someone like Jane Austen but I can't comment because despite my best intentions I never watch them!

Anyway that's probably way more info than you wanted and is v biased towards what I watch myself! I'm sure others can and will correct me.

It's not a British programme, but it's on Challenge TV at the moment and I totally love it! It's called Takeshi's Castle and is a Japanese it's a knockout style gameshow with voice-over by Craig Charles calling them all "Wassock's" every 5 seconds.

It is soooo funny, but would only work if the people taking part were Japanese. Westeners not too funny. I think it is big Japanese corporations that take 100 employees on a bonding day out, but they all end up falling over and geting covered in mud and stuff.

You have to see it to see what I mean.

not seen but have seen clips on tarant of tv, of the japanese game (torture) shows, they are certainly strange things they do to win, doubt those sort of programs would work over here, people would complain it degrading :D

And yet we all love to watch them when we get the chance! It's a bit like that show called Distraction where they have to put their hands in mouse traps or talk while on the loo or whatever. I have to watch from behind a cushion.

Takeshi's Castle is not like the Japanese torture things on Tarrant on TV. They are men and women who take part in silly games and if you suceen you get through to the next round. Alot of the games involve falling over, but it's all in good fun.

Example games:

Stepping stones - contender has to cross a pond at they have a choice of three stones to step on for each step they take, 1 of them is not reall and they sink as soon as they stand on it. They all usauuly totally charge across thinking that the momentum will carry them over if they choose a wrong sotne. It usually works unless the next stone the use is also a dud. Makes fro some fantastic dives into the water.

Human Skittles - 10 pin bowling with a Huge ball. The 10 contestants pick numbers from 1-10 and they have to be zipped into a huge padded bowlong pin. Their feet are tied together and they have to try and remain standing when the ball hits. No-one gets hurt, but very funny.

they all look like they are having a total laugh.

I loved Crystal Maze, but it wasn't the same when Richard O'Brien left.

They were: Zak, Screech, Slater, Kelly, Lisa and Jessie. The re-runs are on all the time but they're so tragically unfunny! Lisa was supposed to be the fashionable one but when you watch it now it's cringeworthy! The guy that played Slater (Mario Lopez) recently got married (can't remember the girls name tho) and was anulled a few days later. My favourite was Mr Belding - I always wanted my head teacher to be like him coz he let everyone away with murder!
Me and my friends used to play a game where we were like news reporters (funnily enough, I now wnna be a journalist!) and whenever we were "reporting" on something we'd call ourselves Kelly Kapowski! Argh!!! :D

Kelly was name of the one I always wanted to be! And I thought Slater was the coolest one (forgot about him until now). It all went downhill when they did the college series and I've never seen the new version with different actors.

At least some of the shows in your country seem a bit more interseting then what I've got over here. Some of the shows that have been listed are shown in America too. Everything else is not. By the way, is membership to this sight free?
