Guess your roleplay's done if ya so bored bub. Brett vs. Shawn Iron man is one of my favorites all time as well as some of the Ric vs. Sting matches from the 80's. Kurt vs. AJ is up there as well but I can't think of, right now, my favorite all time. |

Flair vs Sting was always a great match. I have to say for pay per view I did enjoy War Games and such. I have to say that my favorite main event will probably surprise people. The First Barely Legal- The three way between Sandman, Steven Richards, and Terry Funk with Funk taking on Raven immediately after that match and winning. I loved it because it was to me, perfect story telling, for that federation. You had a old legend, Funk, with a icon of that federation, Sandman, along with the unexpected underdog, Richards. Then you have argueably one of the most psychological wrestlers in the ring at the time as the final opponent. As far as WWF main events I have to say I enjoyed any match with Micheals but I have to say that his first one back against Triple H was also a great one to see. Since he had been gone for so long it was the one with the most anticipation to it cause no one knew if he could do it anymore. Also I'm a mark for any Casket Match. WCW I have to say I loved any PPV match with Foley in it just because I enjoyed Cactus Jack even though they were never main events. Main events sadly rarely paid off in the nWo era but I did watch the mid card feuds a lot. |

Tax, I'm soooo glad you mentioned the Barely Legal main event, as I absolutely loved that match, and always will - I think it's one of the most underrated matches, if not for quality, then for the reasons that you gave before. As for my favourite PPV main events, I'll have the following, in no particular order: HHH vs HBK - Hell in a Cell, Bad Blood 2004 I know it wasn't everyone's cup of tea and I can sort of understand the detractors, but for me, this match held so much intrigue and seemed of such importance, that it deserves to be up there. The feud had built up for years, and it felt to me as if this match would finally be the end of any sort of Triple H/Shawn Michaels dealing. Of course, it wasn't, but at the time... Add to that the fact that I think the match more than lived up to the hype, and was probably the second best HIAC match behind Foley/Taker at KOTR (again, only my opinion), and you've got a pretty damn good match.Ric Flair vs Randy Savage - WWE Championship match, Wrestlemania 8 Again, I just think it's a perfect blend of what makes a great, great match. Real emotion, excellent storytelling, brilliant in-ring action and a really hot crowd. Not to mention the most blatant blade ever by Ric Flair :P. Yes, I know it didn't end the show, but it was billed as a main event, and it was a travesty that we had to sit through Sid vs Hulk after this epic. I loved it. Three Way Dance (Terry Funk vs Sandman vs Stevie Richards) - Winner to face Raven immediately following the match, Barely Legal 1997 Tax has already mentioned this one, so I'm not gonna dwell on it for too long. But for me, any match that can raise the amount of goosebumps so many times during one match deserves to be a top, top match. Call me naive, but I didn't have a clue who was going to win - all three men had viable stories/feuds with Raven going into the match, and everything was just brilliantly done, if not from a technical standpoint then from an emotion standpoint. The ending was perfect. If you've not seen it, watch it! Mick Foley vs Randy Orton - Falls Count Anywhere for the IC Title, Backlash 2004 OK, so Storm cheated and picked a match that wasn't a main event, so why can't I? This match was excellent, a wild and creative hardcore brawl that more than made up for Foley's 'disappointment' at WM (although I don't know what his problem was, I enjoyed the WM tag match too...). Foley kept up with a fitter, better conditioned, younger athlete every step of the way, and legitimately looked to have the beating of Orton on more than one occasion. The match was spot city, but also served it's purpose in getting Orton over even further in his Legend Killer guise. Sure, Orton botched the RKO at the end. But if it's good enough to replace Mankind vs Shawn Michaels at Mind Games (another superb match) as Foley's personal favourite match, it's good enough for me! ![]() There are probably more, but they're the ones that spring instantly to mind, for me anyway. What do you guys think? |

If AJ loses, he wears the turkey suit match. Really summed up TNA at the time.

Bret Hart vs The British Bulldog @ Summerslam 92. I was there at Wembley Stadium along with the other 80k+ people and this match was absolutely electric. When Davey got the pin at the end the entire stadium erupted, ive never heard a cheer like it before or since. Emotional, compelling and a technically fantastic match. |
