Well, I just want to start off by saying that I'm NOT leaving CWF. I enjoy this place too damn much, and if one bad match happened... you know what, it happened.

I don't know whether or not I'm in "the clique", so to speak, but I'm just going to say that for the most part, CWF is pretty damn fair. Justin's a hell of a fedhead, and while things may be in discord at the moment, that's probably because we have a bunch of people stirring things up.

I feel that I should clarify something. Patrick, when you made your offer to me, you made it sound like I was THE crucial part you needed to make the whole thing work. And I was flattered that someone would think so damn highly of my work... then I found out that you made basically the same offer to like six other people!

Yes, I was interested. And just to clarify, no, Justin didn't "straight up counter-offer" me out of your team. He just gave me some information I was missing. And I didn't want to be straight up about THAT, because frankly I don't like politics in my hobby. Yes, I know they happen anyway sometimes, and hell, they've probably gone in my favour more often than not.

I feel I should address the "clique" argument. See, there seems to be some perspective that I've been held down as a writer. Aside from that fact that my writing has improved out of sight JUST AS A RESULT OF BEING HERE, I don't think that's true. Yeah, I've had a couple of not-so-good matches the last couple of weeks, but that's really nothing when taking the whole of the last year into account.

Yes, I talk to Justin on MSN. Yes, I talk to other people (Jonny, John, Ross, Jazz, Dallas and Danni being the most prominent examples). You know why these guys are at the top? Because they talk to each other, they come up with good ideas for storylines, and THAT's what gets them to the top. That, and the fact that all of them are phenomenal writers.

Contrary to what people might think, there isn't a "clique" here. I got my title shot not through "politics" (that is, smarming up to Justin), but through talking to Danni on MSN for sometimes hours at a time, discussing how to write a kickass story. Then she became champion, in a hard-fought match against Jarvis. No politics. Just good writing.

Now, you're probably wondering what I mean by "Scorched Earth". What I mean is that this fed has been, metaphorically of course, burning. The fire really started tonight, but it's been clear for a while that the tinder's been being stacked up (not naming names here). And yeah, we've been done some damage; lost some people, and a lot of the OOC banter has died down. But as has been eloquently stated, "we just lost our cancer, our genital warts, and our acne". So, with that in mind, I think it's time to move forward, and bring CWF back to the glory days.

I'm sure I'm going to get some flames for this, and frankly I don't care. Nothing can be said to me that hasn't been said to others throughout the day. And to those who worry about "politics"... there are no politics here, save what you bring with you.

You know...it would be better if more people would reach out and actually talk to each other instead of throwing out a few blurbs on the critique thread.

The whole "clique" thing comes from the old heads seemingly not wanting to work with some of us new cats, or at least the ones who's style they're not comfortable with. From the outside, what I just quoted looks like you helped someone get to the title, and you got a shot as appreciation of that help....quid pro quo, so to speak.

It shouldn't be always up to those coming in to endear themselves to the OOC community, those that are mainstays should be trying to make new people feel welcome. We should be able to be cool with each other and still be honest when we need to be, and I think some of that is lacking. If you can't take honest criticism, then why stick around, ya know?

A lot of you already feel a certain way about me...I'm probably the scatterbrained complainer, and I doubt I'll get an unbiased look for a bit. I can live with that, as long as my work isn't judged under those eyes as well...and I feel that some of yall do look at my work like that. I haven't felt welcome all the time, and so I stayed away some, just posted my rps and left it at that. I'd like to be welcome, but that's on you guys...all I can do is try to join in as best I can

dan, i agree with you on every single account.

I too was promised the idea of a fundinental role within said group, hell i was supposed to be the leader! Justin did not warn me away, just told me that i was not the only one being offered such a prominent role.

I also want to apologize whole heartedly to you, alex, and anyone else affected by the gauntlet match outcome. I wrote the match, and therefore take responsibility for its result. I will say that out of the four, yours was the best. However i decided to have the events play out as they did to further the impact championship story. This is my mistake and i hope you can accept my humble apologies.

And yes i agree, there has been a consistency in the upper card, but that is because of the quality of writing these guys produce, but justin could easily still put guys like jarvis and sexay in the main event, but he hasnt.

I respect justin immensly for what he does around here. Yet i can say that myself and jace are rarely able to hold proper conversations on messenger due to our day to day lives. Yet we are the top contenders to a title held by a newcomer.wheres the politics in that.

for one i am thankful you did not take the same route as king and go down with these two and i hope you, as well as anyone else affected by this has a prosperous future here from now on.

As i said before, time to cut our losses and move forward.

Just to clear this up, I have been one of those CWF members from the begining. Back then I never EVER had a World Title shot, because back when i started i just wasnt ready. I knew it and Justin knew it.

When Dan and I would talk on MSN it wasnt a way to give me or him a title shot, i dont talk to people and think "Hmmm i wonder if i am nice to (insert name here) i might get a title shot. It was to help each other further our stories. I like other people were given a match against Jarvis as part of the storyline when I left and joined GCWA. (It was a match given that made Angelica come back to CWF) When you have that match its what you do with it that matters. I won that match and it was my first shot at being the Champion and i worked my arse of for it. Dan wasnt then handed a match because we used to chat on MSN, he had earned it. Then between us we worked together to create what I think was one hell of a feud.

Just wanted to clear that up.

Angelica's made the basic point I meant to, but I'm going to clarify something I said earlier. By

I meant the two of us working towards a feud, not necessarily giving each other tips on how to win the title. Angelica won the title, as she said, through working her arse off. What I'm saying, essentially, is that Danni didn't need my help to win the belt.

As for me getting a shot against her; the match between us was part of a planned storyline and would have taken place even if she hadn't won the belt. The seeds for our feud were planted almost three weeks before Angelica even won the title, with a backstage segment (check the archives if you want, it was around March).

That sounded more defensive than I hoped, but it's just a point I want to get across. It is possible to earn a title match, and to make it a really good one, by just having fun and collaborating. As strange as it is, given that this is by and large a competitive sport, you really need to play co-operatively to have the best competition for all concerned.

Now that that point's been made, I'd like to go back to moving forward.

...

P.S: Ripper, it's cool about the match :P I know how annoying matchwriting can be. Apology accepted.
