Resident Hell Raiser
|
7th October 2005 It was amazing how months had passed so quickly, things had been smooth for many a month, well, until now- Amber had come to me in tears today, regrettably informing me that the police had just come to see her- they’d told her there’d been a prison riot, her father had been involved and consequently killed... Apparently someone shanked him, but Amber wasn’t so sure... She couldn’t prove anything but she suspected a bit more foul play seeing as she’d read that all the people involved in the riot were completely unarmed except their bare knuckles so to speak. She knew she’d have to organize funeral proceedings, considering her mother had become an absolute emotional wreck- another excuse to dose up on the drugs one might assume. All of a sudden- this burden had been placed on a 17 year old girls back, she seemed relatively unfazed by that respect- more worried about how the hell she could organize a funeral for such a bastard, a vile human being. I assured her everything would work out fine, there wasn’t much else I could say in that situation – no amount of degrees in the world can help you in moments like these. She knew she wasn’t alone, she told me that McQuade was going to help her and she knew I’d try to help as much as possible- which was true... Even so there was only so much I could do- I said I’d be there for it, she smiled- god, even that smile must have hurt, who knew a smile behind tears could tear at ones heartstrings so much. I opened my arms and she hugged me- not being able to muster the words I held her, like her father should have but would never have the chance to again. |
