Another great show is in the books! Thank you to everyone who wrote a segment or a match this week, this one may have been a bit segment-heavy since we had the big battle royale and only five matches on the card, but I am really impressed with it myself. So please give a review after reading the show, doesn't matter if it's long form or short, let your writers know how much you appreciate their work! Please remember next Evolution is an extended RP window (from 3/19 to wednesday 3/28 at 11:59pm EST) and then right to Unhinged. Okay, get reviewing! https://cwflives.wixsite.com/cwfwrestling/ep-25-evolution-16 Overall Rating (1-10, 10=best, 1=Worst): Best Match: Best Commentary Line: Best Segment: Honorable Mention: Best Surprise: Best Feud/Storyline: MVP of the Week: Ending Thoughts/Predictions for the next show: |

Overall Rating (1-10, 10=best, 1=Worst): 8 - Segment heavy, but with just 5 matches and a lot of things being set up towards the PPV and one show less, it was kind of a necessity, but while we didn't have a lot of matches, I think the ones we had were pretty damn good! Best Match: Battle Royale. Some might think it arrogant that I pick my own, but there was just too much happening and I just loved all the Ataxia antics. Best Commentary Line: Same thing as usual, too many, especially this time Best Segment: On the Top of Everyone's Tongue Honorable Mention: Breaking Point / A "Reasonable" Explanation Best Surprise: Jace is back! Best Feud/Storyline: Rolash vs. his stomach MVP of the Week: Ataxia Ending Thoughts/Predictions for the next show: Hope Is a Futile State of Mind: Nice opening, not sure how many will remember Mapother and Vegas, though, they are kind of thrown in without any explanation, which hampers the efficiency a little. A "Reasonable" Explanation: A scathing promo that brings a very nice background to Donovan's vendetta against King, hits really hard and serves its purpose very well! Valuable Information: Mapother is a rat! Knew you couldn't trust him, but Vegas is gone, leaves us hanging nicely and shows that Sunset's plans are not all working out. Namaste: Since the proper introduction last time had such positive feedback I went with it and added a little more setting, as requested, hope it works well ![]() Battle Royale: I wrote. While some people may think that the outcome was angled towards Ataxia, it was not. With one exception for the furthering of one story, where the elimination happened one spot earlier than it should have been, you have the ranking by rp quality. I tried to have some fun with Rolash's medical emergencies and hope it is well received and even though Ataxia is featuring quite heavily, he is just an incredibly fun character to write and the setting just lent itself to plenty of mischief On the Tip of Everyone's Tongue: Logical first segment after D.C.'s exit and a great heel promo to build heat, love it! Standing at a Crossroad: A twist I did not see coming at all, first of all to see both Sunset and Elisha in the same room without trying to bash each other's heads in, but Cali and the offer, I really liked how the refs explain the situation, great seg! I Am Fine: Continuation of Rolash, just felt he deserved this one. A Champion's Decree: Another great promo of Starr cementing his position, he is a bit our Miz, great mic skills and on the path to be hated by everyone as a cocky SOB. Paramount Title match: Very interesting match, some great spots and I liked how the size and weight difference was used well, Payne's involvement shows that Azrael was probably as close as never before, I would have hoped for a retention through DQ because of it, still good match You: I wrote. Nothing like a little suspense, no? Hey Champ: Nice, fairly light segment, just two ass-kicking girls chatting and stretching. No deep and dramatic developments, but a nice change of pace. The Talk: The Jace is back! And he still doesn't listen... The revelation of Sunset and Sahn, though, is pretty hard hitting and sets the stage nicely. Without Words: Hah! I knew it was him all along! Well, actually I really did, but that's besides the point. Even though this is a segment that would work best as video, since there are no words, it is very well executed and you know exactly what to picture. Elisha vs. Sunset: A lot happening in this match, kudos to Dan for managing to keep all of that together and not lose track, also thank you for continuing the Rolash saga Loved the spot after the table broke, lol. Also great handling of The Shadow!A Forsaken Future: I wrote. Continuation of "Without Words". Interesting times ahead! Taking Tyler Down: The most character development of the Andersons we have seen so far, but still left me wanting. An Owed Question: Another very good Silas segment, who plays the evil mastermind role very well, I like the continuity by picking up the ending of the last show and continuing and referencing it here. Duce vs. Nerezza: Looks like Duce has come out of this match the best out of the three opponents so far, even though that final throw into the crowd was pretty wild, maybe the spot of the night! Great match writing, good flow, again thanks for the Rolash references ![]() Second Sight: I know it is to build up for the future, but this is showing some serious security issues in the Sunset world, I work at an airport, this stuff cannot happen people whoever is in charge of security better have a look at this guy there! Final Preparations: I am a little lost as to what the gloves mean, especially since it is the only time they actually are referenced, I just don't get this one... Sending a Statement: Mora really plays the mega heel to the "t" here, great heat generator for the match! Main event: Short, but definitely great to show the different directions most of these characters are going into, the Lost Boys and Silas furthering their disagreements, Mora being a dick (at least he didnt attack MJ), MJ as the professional trying to win it for the team, so a good setup where the future will lead for these characters. Breaking Point: Great final segment, builds on the outcome of the match and the confrontation between Dean and Silas was awesome, felt like true, deep anger and disagreement, this is drama, done the right way! Great ending to the show! |

Hope Is A Futile State of Mind The first of a few Mapother/Vegas/Sunset/Jace segments. I loved the kiss-ass, turncoat John Mapother here who is willing to suck back up to Ryan Sunset just to get ahead. Vegas Phillips on the other hand, not so willing to do so. Well written segment here. A "Reasonable" Explanation It's time for explanations, isn't it? This was an interesting piece where we finally get to see the King(s) vs. Shane Donovan feud in the eyes of Donovan/Solstice himself. He is a jealous, bitter man who is angry that when CWF closed he was forgotten about and practically left for dead while Jarvis King continued to flourish. I am very happy that this feud didn't end at Confliction, and I can't wait to see the final piece of the puzzle be put into place at Unhinged. Valuable Information And we get a swerve here that John Mapother is actually setting up Vegas Phillips, bringing her to the arena just to set Sunset after her. But when they go to find old Veggy Veg, she's nowhere to be found! Uh oh, what's next!? Great intrigue here, makes you want to continue reading this saga and see what happens next to Phillips/ Namaste Once again another great show "opening" done by Alex. We get to see some of the Indian tradition, Blake & Church being their normal entertaining selves, and it is time for our first match of the evening! Battle Royale for 5th spot in Unhinged Triple Cage Briefcase Match A clusterfuck of a match, so it's expected to be uhh...clustery...but I still think this one was a pretty damn good read. Ataxia's singing was funny and very Ataxia-esque, a lot of the eliminations were very entertaining, and I think quite a few of the competitors got in some "shine time" here. In the end several storylines were either progressed or begun, and we see a very deserving Messiah Pariah move onto Unhinged. On The Tip of Everyone's Tongue DC playing off the fact that he walked out on the battle royale earlier was classic cocky cowardly heel, I loved this segment. We also get some possible heat with DC against Dorian and/or DC against Christian Starr, either one could be one hell of a feud. Standing At A Crossroad One of the most interesting segments of the night, for me. Who would have thought you would be able to see Caledonia, Ryan Sunset and Elisha all in one room and not tearing each other's heads off immediately? Great idea with the referees not wanting to ref such a match, and all the dialogue was written well enough that it actually seemed believable. Nice. I Am Fine! Boy, Mike Rolash is a gluttonous son of a bitch, isn't he? Lol this segment may have not necessarily have been "needed", but I think funny random things like this actually make the show seem more realistic and although not pushing an actual storyline, become a break-away from the normal seriousness. I hope Rolash's belly settles, poor Jimmy may be wearing that Indian food soon. A Champion's Decree Once again we get a Christian Starr who claims he is the best but feels completely disrespected, he wants to be known as THE man around CWF. He wants the Paramount championship to be THE title in CWF. I really get a Miz-ish feeling with this character at this point, and there is nothing wrong with that. The segments that you have written for Starr not only "say" you're going to elevate the Paramount Title to new heights, they subsequently do just that. Two thumbs up. Christian Starr (c) vs. Azrael (Paramount Title) So not to put anything against the competitors that Starr has faced since winning the title, but this one was the closest match other than his actual win over Marksman for the title. This one could have went either way and was a clear step-up from Azrael rp wise, so I was hoping the actual match would showcase both men. And that's exactly what we got here! Damn, several near falls that you really thought could have been it, both men hit damn near their entire arsenal of moves, and in the end Mr. Champion still holds that damn gold. Great try from Azrael, you have to take your hats off to him for nearly becoming champ. The SSES Oh lord, the Soul Search has commenced!? The Dead Boys may have just seen their names become literal. Shit. ![]() Hey Champ I immediately enjoy the short but sweet dialogue with Caledonia and MJF, I don't know why but I could see these two being either friends and/or having one hell of a great rivalry down the line. There is just chemistry there, as if when reading through this I can truly picture what's going on in my head. Ryan Sunset, over PA: Caledonia Highlander, report to the Principal’s Office immediately. <-- That line was a little strange, but funny lol. The Talk Wow this was really an emotional one. Jace Valentine absolutely spilling his heart out to Vegas for all that he has done wrong, asking for her forgiveness, but he won't listen to her as she tries to do the same thing. Finally we get the truth on the Tormented Soul at the end, and the little line with the "The world depends on it." Always pop for apocalypse lines like that one. Without Words This one was creepy, romantic, freaky, everything you wanted in a storyline building segment in a small frame. I can't wait to see where the future takes these two love birds! Elisha vs. Sunset This one was busy with Caledonia being the special guest referee, the Shadow on commentary, and one hell of a battle between the two sides of the Institute. Very well written match with all that in mind here. Another really close call in judging, I really wanted to see this one end up as a DQ or a draw but I didn't want to disservice the writers because they asked for a straight up match. Sometimes when there is so much going on in a match it distracts from the match going on but in this case with a PPV coming up and a big multi-person match between all these people looking likely, I think pushing that storyline as well as having the great match that this was was necessary and done well. A Forsaken Future Oh my, a possible continuation on the Mia-Ataxia love story...and an invitation to the Forsaken!? This could only mean good, or bad, things for CWF, whichever way you look at it. A Forsaken Future, indeed. Taking Tyler Down This one had a few spelling and grammar mistakes that I fixed when editing the segments onto the show, but after that I didn't really feel this one was too bad honestly. While I don't think it's necessarily the best idea to feud two of your own characters, the hatred between Billy and Tyler is becoming more and more interesting and I definitely can see these two having a Career Match at Unhinged. One man stayed, one man goes. CWF is only big enough for one Anderson. An Owed Question This was refreshing to see a "heel" (although I picture Silas more on the line of a neutral at this point?) to be a gentleman to Tara after so many are so rude and abrupt towards her. The dialogue with Silas going on about his disappointment in not being able to make it to the Unhinged briefcase match in his birth-country was heartbreaking, but yet we still see a rather confident Silas Artoria. He is ready to main event Evolution and put the rest of the roster in their place, with the Coalition clearly in his control. ..Or so he thinks so, at this point. Duce Jones vs. Nerezza I like how Duce comes in hot and heavy right from the start here attacking Nerezza before he can even fully get in the ring, if I was facing a scary son of a bitch freak like Nerezza, that's exactly what I would try to do. Well maybe not, I'd probably run, but that's besides the point lol. Great action here, and very interesting that we end with a count out victory. Definitely a refreshing change to the usual pinfall victories, and keeps the heat that both men have going heading into the Unhinged briefcase match. Second Sight The introduction of Adrian Evans was certainly an interesting one. I felt for him at first when the security member thought he was a little boy, but when we get a coy, conniving and intelligent man instead, even the security guard is taken aback. Not sure if Adrian really is there at Ms. Flurstein's request, but I have a feeling we're going to find out eventually. Final Preparations A little segment to show that the Coalition is swinging for the fences and ready to go for tonight's main event. Was a little bit strange with the gloves thing, but I enjoyed this because it looks like we're going to see a united front with the stable here. Sending A Statement Marksman getting a rubdown as a warmup to his match? Boy I wish I was in the wrestling business now more than ever, LOL :P. I really liked this segment because through the dialogue going on here we see more of the characteristics of Marksman; we see that because nothing is "at stake" in this match that Marksman apparently really doesn't give a shit about it. All that matters to him is the CWF World Heavyweight Title, and the only statement he is looking to make is taking that title away from MJF. Makes me hot for their match this coming Evolution! Main Event 8-Person Tag Match I wrote the match so I can't say much about it other than I hope you all enjoyed it. Sometimes matches like these with this many competitors are hard to do because you want to give each of them (or at least the ones who rped, which in this case was all) enough of a spotlight. I tried to do that, and hopefully succeeded. I wanted to tell the story of the continuation of Marksman turning his back on his team, and the Coalition dissolving even further. We see a big pin for Freddie Styles in the end, a much needed win for him and his team after a couple of heartbreaking close losses for Styles. Breaking Point Silas Artoria is absolutely not happy with the team coming up short once again. Once Dean Coulter gets into his face and begins spouting off to Silas, it's over, and when they are in each other's faces...oh my god...I can just picture this break up and I think the live crowd would be going absolutely NUTS at this point! What a great, well written segment here. I think the Tag Team Title Match at Unhinged is now honestly one of the matches to look out for, wow. Great show guys, all around pats on the back for another fantastic Evolution! One more (with an extended RP window) and then we're Unhinged! |

Overall Rating (1-10, 10=best, 1=Worst): 7 - I think the show was ordered a little weird with some the the segments, almost like there were a few mix ups as where things were supposed to be placed but otherwise everything was written well. Best Match: Battle Royale. I know from experience how hard these are to write and Alex did a hell of a job, so while some of the other matches had a better flow I appreciate this match much more because of the difficulty. Best Commentary Line: I enjoyed the back and forth at the beginning of the show with Rolash being sick, brings a bit of light heartedness into a otherwise pretty serious show. Best Segment: On the Top of Everyone's Tongue Honorable Mention: Breaking Point / A "Reasonable" Explanation Best Surprise: D.C. eliminates himself!? Best Feud/Storyline: I've been enjoying seeing where this MJ/Marksman thing is going. MVP of the Week: Alex for having to write that battle royal. Ending Thoughts/Predictions for the next show: With one less show before the PPV I expect one hell of a showing and there are lot of storylines that I'm excited to see progress. Hope Is a Futile State of Mind: Alex makes a good point, I don't know these characters too well. I've seen some mention of Vegas before but the other guy is new to me. I liked it for what it was though. A "Reasonable" Explanation: Loved it. It brought some insight to the history of the King/Donavon fued without dwelling in too deep leaving some intrigue. Perfect promo to bring us closer to the rematch. Valuable Information: I liked it, again don't know Mapother very well it this was good touch on his character work throughout the show. Namaste: It works very well Alex, it's a nice little touch to the shows. Almost like a pre-show panel but actually good. Would be nice to see us going back to Church and State throughout the PPV for their thoughts on the show. Maybe for the PPV? Battle Royale: Good lord. I hate Battle Royal as a writer but Alex did a terrific job in getting everyone's spots in and making it feel like an actual battle royal. Liked the antics of Ataxia and as a whole it was an excellent match. Only gripe is that I would have had a little bit of back and forth with Impact at the end before throwing him out but that's writer's choice. On the Tip of Everyone's Tongue: BOOOO! YOU SUCK, excellent progression from the battle royal and him eliminating himself and it sets up D.C. vs Dorian with a lot of heat going into their title match for the next show Standing at a Crossroad: At this point I was beginning to feel as though we were getting a little too much Institute/SSRI for one show but thats probably just because of the short burst of segments in between the matches. It was good, but I still might be too far removed from the storyline appreciated it I Am Fine: Again, nice little touch to bring a bit of comedic relief to the show. A Champion's Decree: Not going to say much because I wrote it, just hope everyone enjoyed it. Paramount Title match: Very well written, I liked the use of the size difference and the dirty underhanded way that Starr is going to keep the belt adds a bit of depth to my own ongoing story. The SSES: Short, sweet, to the point. Not much to say about this one. Hey Champ: It was good but I feel like it would've been a bit better in an RP and given time to develop a little more naturally and into a nice little promo. The principle'office line was a little weird as well The Talk: The story is developing nicely, I enjoy Jace's character work of late and this is another bit on top of that. Without Words: Creepy, eerie. Perfect for both of these characters. That's all I can say, look forward to seeing where this goes. Elisha vs. Sunset: A lot happening in this match, for sure. But it grows organically and continues a lot of storylines at the same time. A Forsaken Future: Nice continuation of the story! Taking Tyler Down: Why? What's the point of bringing in the Andersons just to break them up in a matter of weeks, if the plan was for a Billy singles run I feel like it could've been done better. Looking forward to hopefully getting a little more out of this character now. ------ I have to run now but I will finish my review later on today |

Overall Rating (1-10, 10=best, 1=Worst): 7. Couple of things; May have just been my browser but there were some serious spaces in between some sections, just completely blank. Could be because of the mutli-competitor matches made this a smaller event, but it just felt lesser. know people take time off and we can't always be sure of reliability, but there shouldn't be a desperate need to make sure everyone is involved in matches each week, that's what segs are for and it's probably better if cards aren't changed just to include new arrivals, probably best to just encourage segs or promos to build them up and ten have their debut the next show. Just my opinion. Felt very much like a transitional event. Best Match: Sunset v Elisha/Battle Royale Best Commentary Line: Nothing really stood out for me/Not as keenly engaged so hard to pick. Best Segment: On the top of Everyone's Tongue Honorable Mention: Hey Champ - I like the continuity where Caledonia refers to something Dean said in an rp from an earlier show, shows consistency. Best Surprise: DC's self elimination, Caledonia's return and involvement as special ref. Best Feud/Storyline: Are the seeds of a DC/STARR feud being sown? MJ and Mora building nicely MVP of the Week: Ataxia, well done Ending Thoughts/Predictions for the next show: Alot of story lines beginning/developing and with a PPV now closer should prove an interesting affair (though wit the new set up only now being organised the transition into PPV mode did feel a bit abrupt) Edited by TheLostBoys, Mar 23 2018, 08:32 PM.

Overall Rating (1-10, 10=best, 1=Worst): 8 Best Match: Battle Royal Best Commentary Line: Jim Gunt: The boss sent right through our table! The Shadow: Where is Mike? Mike Rolash (smothered): Under Elisha’s ass. Jim Gunt: Words I never thought I’d hear. Best Segment: the Vegas/Mapother/Sunset series Honorable Mention: Namaste Best Surprise: DC's self elimination Best Feud/Storyline: enjoying the build to Unhinged all round ![]() MVP of the Week: Jaceypoos Ending Thoughts/Predictions for the next show: one show to go before Unhinged - looking forward to it. |

Hope Is a Futile State of Mind Prophecies and cults are silly things. But Mapother is a little of kilter. Jace lost the title and abandoned them. Sunset got his ass kicked. Elisha is not as fearsome anymore. He wants to be on the right side, but he's apparently going to be on the losing side, by himself. A "Reasonable" Explanation It certainly was reasonable. Valuable Information Decent seg, but weirdly placed - with just Donovan's seg in between them, that's some epic incompetence by Mapother. Namaste Poor Mike isn't feeling well. Good intro from Church and State though. Battle Royal Dug the DC self - eliminate, the Ataxians, and Mike's continued tummy trouble. Congratulations to Ataxia for winning and getting into the Unhinged match. On the Tip of Everyone's Tongue More detail in DC's history with STARR. Good thing. Standing at a Crossroad Interesting twist. Misplaced, would work better switched with Hey Champ. I Am Fine No he isn't. I also question the likelihood of ANY restaurant in India having steak (beef - cows) on the menu. A Champion's Decree Little weird having the announcers talk about the DC/Starr segment after they've dealt with Rolash's issues. Should've been some sort of transition added. Starr vs Azrael Good defense for Starr. He's got some good momentum heading into the PPV. The SSES Made me laugh. Love the service. Hey Champ Daniel and I wrote. Would work better switched with the crossroad. The Talk In two weeks, Jace went from walking out on the company to find himself, to being the same confident insufferable prick he was before? The wink, the "I will stop them" swagger. Too much too soon. Without Words "The sound of their laughter is still said to be heard in the darkest corners of the collective mind of everyone who heard it that day." is the line of the show. Elisha vs Ryan Sunset I always like when characters add commentary. Gives a unique voice. So, Caledonia gets the unenviable task of refereeing this one. Poor kid. Rolash gets taken out by Sunset hitting the table, that's also a poor kid. Elisha wins, to the surprise of nobody. This should've been Jace Valentine's first appearance of the night - shock and awe. Showing up in a segment ruins the moment, I think. A Forsaken Future Innnnteresting. I wonder who it could be? (intrigue) Taking Tyler Down Exactly what it says on the tin. Really hard to read, though. First line - since he lost to the battle royale, Billy wasn't happy. Next line, though - He ignored the loss with an angry snort. Which is it? I also think it would've worked better to have had the segment from Tyler's point of view, because the attack is a surprise moment that had the surprise blown. An Owed Question Finally, some respect for Tara. Hype for the Main, good deal. Duce vs Nerezza Both guys are in the Unhinged match, so this is to whet the appetite. Countout makes the most sense to me, you don't want to put one over the other fully when they have a big match on the horizon. Second Sight I wrote Final Preparations The Coalition is ready. Sending a Statement I think Mora is the only person who didn't hype this main event on the opposing-the-Coalition team. Makes sense, the rest of us didn't want to be in the same room. ![]() Main Event Clusterfuck, as it needed to be. Moved some stories along, MJF vs Mora, and the Coalition dissolution in particular, with Freddie Styles getting the win for his team, hopefully turning himself around. Dug it. Breaking Point Well, who didn't see that coming? Great show, everyone. |

Overall Rating: 7. It was fine, but it felt like a filler show. Best Match: Going to be very predicable and say the battle royal. Had nice pacing and christ it must've been a pain in the arse to assemble. Best Commentary Line: Nothing standing out. Nothing against commentary, I normally forget a lot of commentary after reading the RP. Best Segment: On the Tip of Everyone's Tongue Best Surprise: Caledonia is back! Neat! Best Feud/Storyline: MJ and Mora. Heating up nicely. MVP of the Week: J Rish for putting up with our crap :3 Ending Thoughts/Predictions for the next show: There was a lot of filler personally due to a less matches this week, but next week should push things into overdrive. Time to go home! |
