Our House - Nice kick-off before the show and a tall order to defend her title against anybody. Big gesture to thank all three of her opponents, including Jaceinho, liked the segment!

Cold Open - Figured to give the show a proper start up instead of just going in abruptly.

Jobbing Out - I received a request from HQ to give some local talent a chance while we are on the road...

Billy Anderson vs. El Paino - Whoa, did not see that coming!

Mia Rayne vs. Tyler Anderson - If you so openly declare that you don't care, then I might not care as much about your match either, but I think we managed to establish Mia quite nicely, no?

Clever Titles are Hard to Come By - Nice continuation of Starr's cockiness, Jin must be the Korean Tara, she gets about the same amount of respect out there...

Ataxia/Dorian vs. Dead Boys - Unfortunately got hampered by the Dead Boys playing dead, but whenever Ataxia is involved, you know it will be entertaining :) I liked the little "almost spat" between Dorixia!

Beneath the Mask - Nice introduction for Impakt, FINALLY someone shows respect to Tara! But his character overall is portrayed well and sets the stage for him.

This is Not the End - Well, it isn't...

Christian Starr vs. Metrosupp - The match went predictable, BUT it was very nicely written with Metrosupp getting some really nice spots and the size difference is very well implemented.

Working Together or Bitter Enemies - Ever since D.C. appeared in CWF, I've been wondering how these two were related and...we still don't quite know, lol. But I want to know more :)

Fatal Fourway - Very nice match, lots of action, great spots for everybody, that's the way a match like this should be!

The Longest Day - Part One - Looks like this Evo is a Coalition show, three matches, now a segment that hints at another one... Looks like Silas is the chief here and in charge. Coach, cheering squad, all rolled into one.

Lost Boys vs. Danger Boiz - LOVED the inclusion of the Aussie fans singing and belching and also the fan with the sign, I have to make a mental note to do more stuff like that, same for Silas as guest commentator, it's fun! The match itself was great as well, very high octane and great to and fro, loved it!

Commercial - Hey, someone has to build the hype, no?

Autumn vs. Amber - Great Gunt vs. Rolash, I could read a whole match between them, lol. And how come that Gunt has Ataxia's cell number...? But back to the match, nice action, cool to see the barbwire bat being thrown out again by Amber, I think she's had her fair share of torture instruments while she was in Elisha's care...

Accepting Fate - Are we going to have to initiate a suicide watch for the Fredster? You really feel for him :(

Azrael vs. The Shadow - I liked it, I won! Beyond that nice change-up with the technical start, also nice use of the druids, even using some of their names, makes it so much more personable :) Cool spots, intense, happy!

The Longest Day - Part Two - Silas knows fear??? Very well written, really showing Artoria's cockiness dissipate in a flash and explore his feelings there.

Nerezza vs. Silas - Very well flowing match (even though a bit long for an Evo show), really highlighting Nerezza's joy in handing out pain, speaking of pain - proofreading was a bee-atch, Mr. Hudson! Only odd thing was that the rest of the Coalition had ice packs with them at the ring, that seemed a little weird, especially since it wasn't mentioned at first that they came prepared. Cool idea in itself, though. Surprised he survived, though.

Love Note Session - LOVE it! Has the right level of creepiness and awkwardness and really wants me to know more about this! Well, I already do, but you get the point!

Jones vs. Styles - Really tight match, just like the roleplays, nice to see the opening sportsmanship, and the constant back and forth had me rooting for both of them, which is great match writing!

The Longest Day - Part Three - Let's just say...things did not go quite as planned... As mentioned before, a LOT of Coalition this week, three matches, three segments...

Flair vs. Sunset - Overall predictable ending, but Sunset changing the rules twice was a very nice touch. Flair dominating, but Sunset just won't stay down!

Overall Rating (1-10, 10=best, 1=Worst): 8.25

Best Match: Nerezza vs. Artoria

Best Commentary Line: The whole back and forth in the Amber vs. Autumn match :)

And while it may be frowned upon, I loved writing this one:
Mike Rolash: But...but...that's...how...he's...!
Jim Gunt: It's ok, Mike, you can relax now, it's all under control...
Mike Rolash: But...Starr...Payne...Anderson...Mia...
Jim Gunt: Yes, Mike, it's ok… Now since the first try failed, now Tyler Anderson will work on restoring the Anderson family honour, when he goes up against Mia Rayne next!
Mike Rolash: Mia...Billy...Tyler...Payne...
Jim Gunt: Good Lord, he's stuck.
He whacks him over the back of Rolash's head.
Mike Rolash: Yes, he complained at Confliction that he didn't know who to fight and Mia Rayne came to the rescue.
Jim Gunt just looks at Rolash with an incredulous look, then at his hand as we cut to Ray Douglas.

Best Segment: The Longest Day - Part 2
Honorable Mention: Love Note Session

Best Surprise: El Paino!

Best Feud/Storyline: I actually am not sure in this one... Maybe Nerezza and Artoria.

MVP of the Week: Silas

Our House

I wrote.

Cold Open

I feel like this could've benefitted from a better "setting of the scene" - but Church and State doing the intros was a good way to offset the Far East tour from the usual shows back home. I hope this continues.

Jobbing Out

"A local talent? Must be a jobber" - Inside jargon, doesn't really help. It might work better to say something like "A local talent? If he was any good, he'd be in the CWF already," or something of the sort. Dunno, just my opinion.

Billy Anderson vs El Paino

Minor thing - when abroad, maybe we should announce the country? "Hailing from Rincon, Georgia, USA" - because remember, there is a country called Georgia that used to be part of the Soviet Union. This is not a knock on this match because I didn't think to do that in mine - I just thought of it now. Incredibly short match. I really don't think matches should be that much of a squash unless they serve a storyline purpose, and I could be wrong but I don't see one at the moment.

Mia Rayne vs Tyler Anderson

Some sort of transition might've helped, maybe play off the fact that it's Billy Anderson immediately followed by Tyler Anderson? Also, because the match starts with Mia in the corner, rocking back and forth, I feel like we missed something. Match doesn't really get started because Payne comes back out - he should be like the MVP of the tour and I would love for this to continue because of his imposing form. Good win for Mia but I feel like it should've been more directly due to her and not another moment for Payne to look good. Give him a moment later to look good. :)

Clever Titles are Hard to Come By

Dig the double entendre with the segment title and the segment STARR (see what I did there?). Christian Starr is an egotistical asshole, and it's a perfect person to be the Paramount Champion. Starr is clearly a future World Champion here but I love the way he is looking at his Paramount Title as the top belt in the CWF because it's what he's holding. That's the perfect way for his character to look at it.

Ataxia and Dorian Hawkhurst vs The Dead Boys

Bit of a break for the Impact Champion aflowers
s he doesn't have to defend the belt tonight, but he's tagging with his rival, Ataxia - so he needs to be on point. Standard "Rivals have to team up" match - and it pays off for Dorian and Ataxia. Enjoyable and moves the story along, can't ask for much else.

Beneath the Mask

Finally, some respect for Tara Robinson. Looking forward to seeing what Impakt gives us, good writing so far, I hope it keeps up.

This Is Not The End

No, it's not. Transitional segment for Eddy and Choronzon. No worry, they have time to build to the next thing.

Christian Starr vs Metrosupp

Loved Mike calling Choronzon 'Chlorophyll.' Perfect depiction. This was the first longer, 'quality' match of the night - it was a good transition to the more main event type matches, and it has the dual advantage of giving Starr a decisive win on his first night as defending Champ. He's the guy to look at for the next big things, no doubt.

Working Together or Bitter Enemies?

"HAIL! - what was that? Foreshadowing with DC; if everyone does their job this could be the Paramount Title match at Unhinged, or even slow-burning it to Paradise.

Choronzon vs DC vs Impakt vs Mora

I think the opening should have mentioned that DC was already in the ring. Small thing, tho. For me, I was really looking at Mora during this one, to see if he could follow up on his statement of purpose at Confliction. Unfortunately for Mora, he didn't factor into the finish as DC makes an impressive debut. Post match, Eddy's comment about the Chosen should give all of us pause. Why are they flying to South Korea to be part of the show? :)

The Longest Day part 1

Two for two on Tara getting the respects! This was possibly the best on-card segment I've read in the CWF so far in the entire history of my time here; it gave us information, moved a story along, and whetted the appetite for the next thing. Aces upon aces, gents and ladies.

The boys of Lost vs The boys of Danger

Lots of boys in the fed. Definitely dig the Australian contingent causing a ruckus; that's what the Aussies do at sporting events. :) Nice addition as well with Silas on commentary: that's not something that's done often enough and is an easy way to build a story outside of a match (so to speak) or a segment. I think I see a path to the tag team title match at Unhinged starting to form. :)

Commercial

Hype for the next PPV gimmick is always good.

And now we're up to the Unhinged qualifying matches.

Autumn Raven vs Amber Ryan

The opening was a little weird - it read like Autumn got half an entrance and Amber got one and a half entrances, if that makes sense. I really don't know how to explain it any better.

Related aside: How come in the qualifying rounds, the only two girls are against each other? DISSSSSSSSSCRIMINATION! And again, I felt too much of the commentary was directed at the fact that it was a girlfight. Would have loved to see more of a knock down drag out, but that can be held for another time. Good on Amber Ryan for getting the win.

Accepting Fate

Good point by Tara - Freddie and Duce are both on a bit of a cold streak, but as two of the top wrestlers in the CWF it's gonna have to end sometime.

Azrael vs The Shadow

Not a fan of Gunt's comment of "two of the strangest gimmicks" in the early going - the implication is that he's winking that none of this is real. "Two of the strangest athletes" would have been a better term. I don't think lampshading it was a positive, either. Small nitpick, though - the match itself was a great back and forth, with the obligatory entourage brawl. Nice win for The Shadow, too.

The Longest Day II

The Coalition weathers a setback and moves to either a return to form or a continued setback. Good character build.

Nerezza vs Silas Artoria

This was a good example of how to write a lopsided match. Silas is smaller and quicker and can do more damage with hit-and-run attacks, but one shot from Nerezza can stop his momentum. In this case, brute force won out, but there's always tomorrow. Sort of ended on a tease, though - what happened to Silas after Nerezza had him alone? And what does it mean for the Coalition that they didn't make the save? Even taking Silas out of the equation, a three on one would be a bit more even.

Love Note Session

I think she's a little out there.

Duce Jones vs Freddie Styles

This was the real main event for me, the formality of a World Title defense was just a formality. Jace going out to get his head on straight, that really leaves the 100% bonafide main eventers as MJ, Duce, and Freddie (as neither of them 'officially' lost at the PPV). But only one can qualify for the Unhinged match, tragically.

Great back and forth as well, no less than I'd expect. I don't see either of them falling out of contention from this one, either - sometimes a loss can set up something even better, ya know?

The Longest Day III

Yeah... it really was.

MJF vs Yente

I wrote. It is what it is.

Overall, great show. I think we've come together as a fed awesomely.

Our House
This is a perfect way to open up the show; bring the brand new world champion out for some face time. Not only that, build on that hardened babyface edge that MJF has, and then add an exclamation at the end of it by building some program heat between MJF and Mora. [Stars: 5 out of 5]

Cold Open
This is what I'm talking about - nice, realistic flow from that MJF segment to a big welcome from State, Church with the broken Korean, and then - of course - our delightful Rolash. Excellent word across the board here and, once again, perfect transition into the next bit with Marcus. It's the little things that truly count in the long run, for me. [Stars: 5 out of 5]

Jobbing Out
A follow up to Mia Rayne's attack on Tyler Anderson, this one left something to desire. I love concise segments - if there's a true point - but this one didn't do much to reinforce the feud between his brother and Rayne. It wouildn't make sense to reinforce, being that this is Billy, but honestly - what else is Billy doing at this point to where he wouldn't have time to back up his brother more effectively? Marcus states that his return hasn't been very successful, Billy tells him not to rub it in, and then we find out that a local talent has challenged him. Not enough here for me to really feel any certain way - nor enough for me to get hyped up for this match. For the sake of nitpicking a bit, please make sure that you are proofing your segments before you send them through. Are they being proofed anyways? Sure, but that doesn't mean to just send it off and assume that your dirty work is going to get picked up by someone else. In this segment, there's a narrative bit that's mixed in with dialogue. Though this seems small - and it is - these are the little loose screws that we want to tighten in order to make sure that the show's structure and conformity stays as fluid as possible. [Stars: 2 out of 5]

Billy Anderson vs. El Paino
Not a bad match - some good spots here and there though, I'll admit, I have no idea who Payne is or what connection there was between the Andersons, Mia, and Starr - this may just come down to not being completely well-versed on some, if not most, of the comes and goes of CWF's roster. I believe this was an angle match? Which would explain why Billy lost to a gimmick character?

Mia Rayne vs. Tyler Anderson
Back to back matches seems a tad unrealistic, but makes sense if it was due to a lack of segments.

I really love the beginning of this match - Tyler's aggro mentality versus Mia's subtle, restrained apparoach. She's a strange one, isn't she? I love the heel move of Tyler leaving the ring and throwing in the towel - definitely adds some heat to the character. Then, here comes that Payne character again - forces Tyler to get his ass back into the ring and now we have Mia going into full blown mental anime meltdown mode. I love the fact that she talks trash while in the midst of her dominance.

I feel like there should have been a segment wedged in between these two matches, but you have to give it up for the quality of the match in general. It was on point! [Stars: 4 out of 5]

Clever Titles are Hard to Come By
I've come to realize, during this segment, that Payne is part of Christian Starr's entourage. It all makes sense now. I love the Christian character, because I despise him so much. This means that the heel effect is working superbly well. He reminds me of The Miz - especially when he gets super petty, and starts to complain about the little things; not being featured on the poster, not feeling like people believe in the Paramount title - and then goes FULL heel Jericho, assuming the role of taking the Paramount title to greater heights, and bringing it back to the level it's most deserving of, paying homage to the likes of Adam Davis [nostalgia like HELL here] and Jarvis King. Very admirable, being that he's such a full-of-himself dick. Great job selling the heat with Christian Starr. Enjoyed this one quite a bit. [Stars: 5 out of 5]

Ataxia/Doris Hawkhurst vs. The Dead Boys
Woo wee, what a great match. Tons of one-upping across the board, excellent false finishes, and great job making everyone in this match look strong. Whoever wrote this match truly understands how each of these characters operate. I'm not sure what slithering up the ramp actually looks like but for some reason, it works with a guy like Ataxia. I also loved him pointing to his "brain" - declaring that this match was all about the mindplay in the end. [Stars - 5 out of 5]

Beneath the Mask
At first, I was hoping we were going to get a super dopey style character out of Impakt. That's what I got out of him correcting Tara after she greeted him as "Mr. Impakt" - but it seems like this is younger, free-spirited, Patriot-esque character with a belly full of go-getter in him. Nothing wrong with that either. Honestly, you don't see a lot of neutralized characters like this, and Impakt - thus far - appears to be moving down this direction. Tara's approach was a little weird - especially at the end - where she took a dig at the upcoming superstar. It seemed a tad out of place, a tad out of character, and probably something that wouldn't show on air. Honestly, the only real reason why this would even be here is if Tara is going to play some sort of additional role here - which I doubt.

I digress, I look forward to learning about Impakt's past, and also hope that we see him divulge a little bit deeper into his backyard wrestling history. I think that's a fascinating aspect of this character - rags to riches, in a way.

This is Not The End
Good follow up on what transpired at Confliction between these two. I love the druid concept - and really enjoy both of these characters at this point. The line, "No, it is not, you are still alive" was DEEP and really speaks volumes to how Choronzon feels about Eddy in the grand scheme of things. Lots of tension built up here in this concise segment with a lot of restraint as well. Restraint is good, however, as it's obvious that we're building to a major shitstorm. [Stars - 4 out of 5]

Christian Starr vs. Metrosupp
Another great match. Starr seems to be involved in true epics. Metrosupp is amazing, too. Both of these characters have incredible levels of charisma, and the writer of this match really brought that to the forefront perfectly. Lots of good spots here, too. For instance, I loved when Christian had the clear 1,2,3 and got up from the pin, simply to flex his ego a bit - and then karma got the best of him. The commentary here was excellent as well. Great false finishes and though Metrosupp lost here, he looked VERY game against Starr. [Stars - 5 out 5]

Working Together or Bitter Enemies
As the title states, I have no fucking idea which side Christian and this DC guy stand - unified, or opposite sides of the spectrum? I like DC - and am looking forward to seeing what he and Cali bring to CWF. At the same time, what is the connection here? Why is Starr clapping and nodding his head? Is this Starr simply approving of DC and showing interest in trying to get him to join his clique? Good stuff, for what it is. A guessing game, at this stage, though. [Stars - 3 out of 5]

Fatal Fourway - Choronzon vs. DC vs. Impakt vs. Mora
Well, there ya' go - DC picks up a HUGE win, if you ask me, and really establishes his footing in CWF. Great match - a scattering of action across the board, and ultimately well-written in general for a fatal fourway, which tends to be one of the most difficult pieces of writing to do in eW. [Stars - 4 out of 5]

The Longest Day - Part One
I gotta say - I love The Lost Boys and Silas. When put all three of these men together, you have something super special. Silas as the spokesperson for the tag champs is golden in this segment, as he flips Tara's script and ultimately becomes the interviewer. I could totally see Dean and Sam eventually going their seperate ways and becoming big names, in their own right, in the singles division. As far as this "group" is concerned, I would love to see it continue past this match. It jives well indeed. [Stars - 5 out of 5]

Tag Title Match - TLB vs. TDB
This match did not disappoint. Lots of high flying tactics - great strengths shown from both tag teams here as well. The Danger Boiz - Chris and Dan - were great too. It just wasn't their night. I like the nailbiter ending too - with Dean and Silas arguing about Silas' gameplan and the interference in general. Obviously, bringing Silas in between Sam and Dean could cause some serious fireworks. [Stars - 5 out of 5]

- I loved the commercial break. Great PPV hyping!

Autumn Raven vs. Amber Ryan
Loved the diving double stop off the top rope, onto Raven's back - such a huge move, and one that I could totally see painted before my eyes. Then, that awesome staredown, followed by Ryan flipping Raven off? Great tension, and great way to show how much distaste there is between these two.

And then - here comes 24/7 Silas, the man of the hour, with Autumn's barbed-wire bat. Silas' attempt fails, and then he's told to beat it. All of these distractions land Autumn a healthy serving of steep steps, straight to the spine meat. This is what breaks everything down for Amber to take the win. One can only imagine where Silas stands at this point - having helped Autumn essentially fail and nearly caused a meltdown between The Lost Boys. Aligning with this man seems to be comparable to that of biting into the forbidden fruit. [Stars - 5 out of 5]

Accepting Fate
No idea what's going on here. A revelation? What is the revelation; that Freddie is fighting for his life? If we're talking about supernatural entities, who ISN'T fighting for their life? This segment didn't do much for me, other than building a littke bit of hype for the upcoming match between him and Duce. Not much else going on here. [Stars - 2 out of 5]

Azrael vs. The Shadow
Another major impressive win for The Shadow, who is slowly but surely rising up the ranks - with a little help from his friends. Well written match across the board here. Perfect length, tons of balanced action. [Stars - 5 out of 5]

The Longest Day - Part 2
Decent reaction segment - this one also hyped up the Silas/Nerezza match, as well as hinted at some sort of plan that's going to take place during the match. Nothing much to see here, but was fine for what it was. [Stars - 3 out of 5]

Nerezza vs. Silas
Great match - and thanks for the opportunity, Silas, it was fun to write against you. I loved both characters here, and really enjoy the fact that we're making the "slung over the shoulder" thing that Nerezza does a trend. I was going to bring this up, but obviously didn't need to. Great writing - great action, suspense, and believable bumps/falls. I loved the interference attempt, as well as Nerezza being surrounded by everyone in the end. No need for there to be major fireworks, just yet, but it's quite obvious that they're coming. [Stars - 5 out of 5]

Love Note Session
What in the fuck is going on here? Segment of the night for me, by far. GREAT job writing this one, Peyton. So much emotion, so much feel, so much - weirdness. The cutting made me squeam, but it's life. It's real. This shit happens all of the time, but you made it seem far different than what reality presents it to be. Mia seems to be a butter knife away from a whole set - and seems to be a tad psychologically fractured. My cup of tea in every way whatsoever. Who the hell is the admirer? [Stars - 5 out of 5]

Duce vs. Styles
The technicians were out and about during this match - TONS of great reversal and spot-on technical diversity throughout the whole match. This one, for me, could have gone either way. The writing kept it unpredictable. Great job. [Stars - 5 out of 5]

The Longest Day - Part Three
Probably not COMPLETELY necessary of a segment, as there was quite a bit of oversaturation of Silas on this show. I don't know if we needed to see Silas being carted off, or Tara's failed interview attempt either here. What was done and what's done - and it was quite apparent what happened while in the ring. This felt like filler, somewhat, and could have been omitted honestly. [Stars - 2 out of 5]

MJF vs. Sunset
MJF retains - and in a great way with the Morningstar. Sunset proved that he can bring it, and this match was much more unpredictable than I initially thought it would be. I have to hand it to the writer for keeping everything fair and balanced. I also love the fact that the night ends on a good note. You don't technically see that very often, but I think it makes sense - showing MJF ride off into the sunset, so to speak, with her title firmly in hand.

Had to do short form this week, sorry. Time is really getting away from me this week with everything going on with me in real life (new job and soon to be new residence), but I feel like we all should be reviewing these shows each and every week. There is no excuse not to. The writers put out incredible work each and every week for you all to read here in CWF, and it surely is a disjustice to all of them by not showing a little love to their work and posting a review of what you liked and what maybe needed work for Evolution/PPVs. Let's get on the ball people, review!

Overall Rating (1-10, 10=best, 1=Worst): I'd say around 7 or 8. Could have been a little hotter for a post PPV show (segment wise especially), but with all the Unhinged qualifying matches on the show, I still think it turned out to be pretty decent.

Best Match: All of the Unhinged matches were written well, and showcased all eight of the people who were vying to qualify for the triple cage briefcase match at the PPV. Out of the four from last week (remember we still have a battle royale this week for that fifth and final spot!), I would say that I enjoyed reading Nerezza vs. Silas Artoria the most. The interactions in this match separated it from your usual match, and the near countout on Nerezza just for him to come back and kill Silas with that jumping Piledriver, awesome stuff.

Best Commentary Line: [From Angel vs. Autumn]- Jim Gunt: What's she mad about...

Mike Rolash: Well...

Jim Gunt: If you say something sexist, rude, or just plain stupid I will text that phone number right now.

Mike Rolash: Fine.

Best Segment: Our House- I thought this segment really set the tone nicely for the show, when we have a new champion the obvious choice is for them to start out the next show, and this one didn't disappoint that expectation. We see MJF paying respect to all three of her Confliction opponents, surprisingly even to Jace a little- but she can not, will not give Marksman even a horse hair's amount of respect after attacking her from behind. Good one.

Honorable Mention: The Longest Day trio of segments. I felt a bit like maybe this could have been converted to two segments instead of three, BUT that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy each of them. To start we get the very confident Silas Artoria, ready to showcase his group who have three separate matches throughout the night. While the Lost Boys did retain their Tag Titles versus the Danger Boiz, Silas and Autumn both failed, and you could really sense the change in the atmosphere as these segments went along. Gotta give it up for stuff that both pushes character development and storyline development at the same time.

Best Surprise: That Ryan Sunset didn't cheat his way into becoming your new WHC? No just kidding, I don't think there really were that many surprises this show.

Best Feud/Storyline: The Unhinged Briefcase matches, the Chosen vs. Druids continuing, MJF vs. the Authority, and lots more! This block is looking good right off the bat!

MVP of the Week: Gotta go Duce Jones. Duce and Freddie have had a sort of friendly rivalry after facing each other in both the Modern Warfare tournament, the Confliction fatal fourway World Title Match, and now this. Duce has come out on top of the feud by just a touch, but I know I'm probably not the only one who would like to see these two either team up sometime and/or have a full-blown heated rivalry.

Ending Thoughts/Predictions for the next show: Battle Royale for the fifth spot in the Unhinged co-main event is sure to bring the heat! We have debuting stars, veterans, and main eventers alike in this match and the outcome is sure to be unpredictable!
