Blake Church: A new chapter in CWF history is being written - Evolution goes Korea! Charles State: Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the Bucheon Stadium and this location has the potential to make this show even more memorable, since we are going open air! Blake Church: This is “Church vs. State”! ![]() Charles State: I’m Charles State and this is Blake Church, and as you can see behind us, Mother Nature is letting us know that she is in charge, since it is raining cats and dogs right now. The forecast for Monday is for an overcast evening, but they do not rule out a chance of showers, so we hope that things are put in place to prevent this from turning into a wet affair Blake Church: Thankfully this week we do not have any dramatic emergency situations to deal with, but there are obvious repercussions still, so the main question we have been asked was how the Bright Young Things are doing. Charles State: Caledonia indeed has a broken arm, while the extent of Eris’ injuries has not been revealed so far, but they are alive, which is a great start. So far no word, though, from Dan Highlander, who is presumed missing, but due to it being an ongoing investigation we are not privy to any further details at this point. Blake Church: Confliction was all the rage it was expected to be and then some, with some truly epic matches that will go down in the CWF history books, Starr beating Mora, Ataxia succumbing to Dorian in an absolutely epic match-up, The Shadow edging out Elisha in this intense Moon vs. Shadow match and in the end the insane main event seeing MJ Flair walking out as the youngest champion in CWF history. Charles State: Now we are facing the aftermath as well as some big matches going forward, but let’s start at the beginning. Tyler Anderson is kicking off the show against Mia Rayne, who introduced herself to him at Evolution in a rather, hm, extroverted way, and so far the build-up could not have gone more different. Whereas Mia seems to be excited to leave her mark on CWF, Mr. Anderson seems to be impressively unimpressed by her plight and to be honest, given the very underwhelming performances of the Unstoppable Force since their return, this does not bode well for this match either. Blake Church: No, definitely not. Next up we see the frienemies Ataxia and Dorian Hawkhurst once more teamed up after their epic bout at Confliction, testing their uneasy alliance for a second time against two brand new faces in the federation, Marcus Collins and Colby Noble, adding to our Boys Club in CWF, as the Dead Boys. Charles State: While Noble is a bit of an unknown, Collins comes with quite some accolades from the indie scene, which should make for an interesting match-up and potentially a new contender in the tag team scene. As little as we know about them, though, the big question will be how Ataxia and Dorian will be able to work together despite their animosities throughout the last few weeks. Blake Church: The Paramount Championship will be up for grabs next, with our new champ Christian Starr going into his first title defense against Captain France, Metrosupp. Starr is coming off a grandiose win against Jay “Marksman” Mora, a fight that makes you wish that we could see a rematch between the two, but in CWF tradition of making this belt available to new talent, CEO Ryan Sunset has decreed that the Frenchmen get an opportunity to further his American Dream. Charles State: It will most definitely be an uphill battle for him, though, with Starr still being undefeated in his CWF run and on top of it running on an adrenaline high after his intense battle, but maybe Metrosupp can take advantage of exactly that, by flying under the radar and taking the champion by surprise. But we caught up with the champion for a few questions: Blake Church: You definitely have made a splash since arriving in the CWF, now holding the Paramount title, how does it feel to have risen to fame this quickly? Christian Starr: I guess the answer you’re looking for is that it feels good isn't it? That's the cliche answer to the cliche question, right? The right answer is that Christian STARR was a big fucking deal since day one, the question shouldn't be how it feels for me to rise to fame, but why it took so long for the CWF to catch up. Blake Church: Many see this title as an entrance title, how are your longer term plans towards Impact and World title? Christian Starr: I see thing things very differently, it's not the belt that makes the man. It's the man that makes the Championship. So while I applaud Dorian Hawkhurst and MJ Flair for their efforts, I need to make one thing very clear to everyone in this company. As long as I am the Paramount Champion, this Championship is THE Championship. There isn't a person in that locker room that can touch me in the ring or on the microphone. You know and I know it, Christian STARR is the main event and that means so is my Paramount Championship. Blake Church: One of our latest additions to the roster, D.C., shares the same agent as you in Eli Silver, what is the connection between the two of you, since you seem to know each other fairly well? Christian Starr: Me and D? We go way back, but that's all you need to know for now, hombre. Charles State: He definitely has made the Paramount title his very own already, so this could be an interesting title reign. Blake Church: Three new faces are going to be taking on a former champion in our next Fatal Fourway battle, with Marksman Mora being the only known force and after his eruption after his loss to Starr and subsequent attack on MJ Flair at the end, so this can basically go two ways: Either he is going to absolutely devastate his opposition or be too distracted by his new target. Charles State: One of the other three participants has made at least some mark on the CWF in the recent past, the mysterious Choronzon, part of Elisha’s Chosen, he seems to have taken on some sort of a leading role among that group of late, despite being the latest institution into Elisha’s entourage, we have not heard anything about his wrestling abilities, even though in last week’s match he showed quite some battle prowess against The Shadow and his druids. Blake Church: D.C. is next and while he is new as well, he seems to have some sort of past with Christian Starr, not only sharing the same manager in Eli Silver, but they definitely have had a run-in or two before and I quite frankly do not see Starr, or Silver, associate with greenhorns, so I think we can expect quite a bit from him. Charles State: And finally we have the enigmatic Impakt, whose tie-in with the Academy was an interesting surprise, but with the Academy in ruins we can only speculate how that is going to work out for him. Either way, he is one of the masked crusaders out there, trying to make a, well, impact with the CWF. Blake Church: Then the second title of the evening is on the line, with the next episode of the Boys Club, the Lost ones against the Dangerous ones, when the reigning champions from Australia meet up with the old guard of Dangerous Dan and Crazy Chris. These two teams have quite the history by now with the Danger Boiz having been on the receiving end of the Coalition’s aspiring plans. Charles State: And the premise could not really be much different between the two teams as well, the Lost Boys riding on a high after finally getting their hands on the belts - legitimately - while the Danger Boiz have not really been blessed with much success of late, so this could also be a decisive factor in this match. And the Coalition is out in full force tomorrow night, because Autumn Raven will be part of the first of four Unhinged qualifying matches, teeing off against the returned Amber Ryan. Blake Church: It’s a tall order for the Ravenous one, because who manages to enter the House of Will and survive to tell the tale is more than just a tough cookie! Add to this that she also went through the battle of the Academy, then put Cain into the hospital and this cookie suddenly turns into solid granite! As much of a roll as the Coalition has been on, I think Autumn is going to have to see a dentist after this one. Charles State: I wonder, if Dr. Yankem is still practicing... Blake Church: I don’t think so… But on with the qualifiers and mystery vs. enigma should be the sub-title for the next one, Azrael vs. The Shadow. Charles State: Azrael definitely has been the biggest mystery in CWF these days, sometimes I can’t help but feel that he doesn’t even want to be here or is trying to be a motivational speaker on behalf of his opponents... Blake Church: That is true, but at the same time he has shown in the ring that he definitely has what it takes, maybe all it will take is one shot of success, but if he can get that against The Shadow is a completely different story. Charles State: The Shadow’s match against Elisha at Coalition is one for the history books, that is for sure, and he is one of the few people that can claim to have beat the Moonchild. On the other hand that match definitely took a toll, Elisha is not even on the card for Evolution and it looked as if The Shadow actually took a fair amount more hurt, so we will have to see how well the dark man heals. Blake Church: The next qualifier also is a heavy hitter with the monster Nerezza facing off against our resident aristocrat Silas Artoria. One has laid devastation to everything in his path so far, while the other has pulled strings all over the place and managed to establish his Coalition as a true force in CWF. Charles State: To go with sub-titles as you did before, this one would be sledgehammer vs. scalpel. Blake Church: Yes, that actually comes pretty close. We are not exactly sure what to make of Nerezza so far and his actions so far are more than just a bit disturbing, especially when Big Sexay is concerned, but will be be able to overcome the cunning of Artoria? This match has all the potential to become a future classic as well and let’s just hope that they won’t kick us out of Korea for this... Charles State: Finally we have Styles vs. Jones, the last qualifier, pitting two kind-of allies against each other and coincidentally also two main event players that have had a hard time of late. Blake Church: It surely is difficult when competing on such a high level and also with all the hubbub we’ve seen of late, Duce will seek redemption for the title he technically never lost, while Styles will try to prove that he has a lot more to offer than what the Eternals allowed him to do. Given how much is on the line, including breaking their respective downward spiral, this is going to be an intense battle. Charles State: What is left? MJ Flair defending her title against… Well, there is another story actually. She was supposed to put her belt on the line against Jace Valentine, but the Jace Saga definitely has not seen its last chapter written with yet another surprising swerve has broken all ties with Ryan Sunset and consorts! Blake Church: It looks as if he has seen the light, so to say, maybe the fact that he lost his title to MJ this quickly could have had something to do with it, because his deal with the devil only brought him very short-lived success after all. Charles State: So now we have the boss himself lacing up his boots and stepping into the ring with MJF and pretty much everybody but himself is looking forward to a a nice old-fashioned whooping. And it is not as if he has anybody really left to come to his aid after Elisha disassociated himself from him, taken the Chosen with him as well, Jace left him, Styles is gone, Cain is gone, Sahn is still MIA, I guess it is what they always say, it’s lonely at the top... Blake Church: All of this and probably more, this Monday only on CWF’s Evolution coming live from Bucheon in South Korea and we hope that the weather is going to be better than this, otherwise the matches could look a whole lot different, but here’s to hoping! Charles State: We hope to be able to welcome you again next week, I am Blake Church and this was CWF’s Church vs. State. Good evening. Brought to you by: ![]() |
