Blake Church: Welcome to our fourth episode, looking forward to Evolution #13! Charles State: Will it be a lucky number for some or bad luck? We will have a look at every match that is coming up! Blake Church: This is “Church vs. State”! ![]() Charles State: I’m Charles State and this is Blake Church and there are a lot of things happening this week that we do not always get on a regular show! Blake Church: Let’s go down the card chronologically and the first match is definitely something that is not your everyday opening match, seven wrestlers, old and new, battling it all out in a Last Chance Battle Royale, with the winner receiving a shot at the Paramount title and among the losers, well, there is more on the line than just a strike in the loss column! Charles State: Yes, CEO Ryan Sunset has decreed that some losers could not just lose their match, but actually their place in CWF, with some established names, some returning blasts from the past and also a new face, so this has the potential for a lot of drama! Blake Church: Former Impact champion Lance LaRusso is headlining the match, so to say, with Stalker Knight and Justice also being current members of the roster. All of them have had their issues in the recent past, with the Pansexual Playboy potentially feeling the effects of his addictions. Charles State: Then there are a few familiar faces that had announced they were trying to compete for a new contract with the federation, with Kaylan El, Kendo and Damian Kirkson and one brand new name in Jedediah Mathis, whose only sign of life so far has been a brief appearance on the CWF tron during last week’s show, introducing the “Blackwater Gospel”. Blake Church: It will be interesting to see, how they will fare and also what criteria Sunset is applying to see, who will still be with CWF (or again) once the dust settles, but there is a lot at stake, which should make for an interesting opening match up Charles State: Also much publicized returnees The Unstoppable Force are going to take on a new name on the scene with Christian STARR and his sidekick Payne and given the happenings last week and during the week, this new man seems to be very determined to prove that this force indeed is stoppable. Blake Church: While they seem to be in good shape despite their long break, the Anderson brothers have a lot to prove given their lofty claims to be the best tag team of the federation and Payne alone looks like he could take on any tag team around on his own, so this could be an explosive entrance or a glorious return, but we will also have to see, if we are going to get any outside interference again that could completely alter the course. Charles State: The Paramount title will be on the line next and it really is a working man’s title, seeing continuous belt defenses, with Jay “Marksman” Mora being pitted against the man he wrested the belt from last week, Crazy Chris and throwing mysterious newcomer Azrael into the mix for good measure. Blake Church: Mora has proven that his determination can compete with the best of them out there, while Chris also seems hellbent on reclaiming the gold and Azrael, well, nobody is quite sure what his intentions are other than wanting the belt right now, so he could be the big unknown in this bout. Charles State: Next up is a deconstructed tag team match, in which the Bright Young Things take on the Lost Boys, but individually, Eris against Sam Braxton and Caledonia Highlander facing Dean Coulter. Blake Church: It is not a culmination, but another chapter in one of the more convoluted stories that keep CWF on their toes right now, both in and outside of the ring. The Coalition , the Lost Boys’ association with Silas Artoria and Autumn Raven and their personal rebellion against the establishment in CWF, has definitely left its mark on the federation and have definitely added a lot of unpredictability to a lot of proceedings right now. Charles State: Speaking of the Coalition, Artoria and Raven are taking on Stranger Danger this week as well, and they are continuing their targeting of the old guard, which so far has had rather inconsistent success, plus just like above, there has been plenty of interference and turmoil between these teams already. Blake Church: And if that was not enough already, Silas Artoria himself is pretty much synonymous with several of the adjectives we have used of late, turmoil, interference, unpredictability, with his clear struggle to work with or against his Passenger adding another layer of weirdness to the whole concoction. Charles State: Two more matches and one more title defense, with The Shadow squaring off with Dorian Hawkhurst for the Impact Championship, but what makes this one so special is the fact that The Shadow’s partner in darkness, Ataxia, has been appointed guest referee. A decision that is kind of dicy for more than one reason. Blake Church: For one he is The Shadow’s associate in The Forsaken and for the other he seems to have singled out The Demon of Sobriety as his personal target, trying to actively pushing him off the wagon with putting plenty of alcoholic temptation thrown his way. Most people would consider this either a handicap match for Hawkhurst, but with the Masked Menace being Ataxia, you never know what goes through his head, he might be extremely biased or get carried away or do the unthinkable and actually be a referee... Charles State: And finally Jace Valentine and his co-Eternal Freddie Styles are facing MJ Flair and Duce Jones, with the four main competitors for the World title coming together and especially Flair and Jones seem to be really coming together as a team these days. Blake Church: Absolutely, the fact that their fathers actually know each other probably helped, but they seem to be taking the threat of the Eternals very seriously, while on the other side of the ring, things are not quite as harmonic. Charles State: Obviously Valentine’s turn towards the Eternals has been a huge momentum shift in the CWF, but it just reinforced Freddie Styles position as the proverbial fifth wheel, seeing his stock sink even further, so will he continue to be a good soldier or is he being pushed towards his breaking point? Blake Church: So as you can see, it’s a somewhat unusual week, even by CWF standards and we are only two Evolutions away from our next PPV “Confliction”, so plenty of happenings leading up to the next big event. Charles State: This is all we have time for today, but make sure to tune in to Evolution 13 tomorrow, live from the Alltel Arena in Little Rock, Arkansas! Blake Church: We hope to be able to welcome you again next week, I am Blake Church and this was CWF’s Church vs. State. Good evening. Brought to you by: ![]() |
