Blake Church: Welcome to the aftermath of “Modern Warfare” and the outlook on the next Evolution! Charles State: The first big event of the year is over, but its repercussions will be felt for quite a while with more twists and turns than the Mississippi River. Blake Church: This is “Church vs. State”! ![]() Charles State: I’m Charles State and this is Blake Church and we have a lot of ground to cover today! Blake Church: Yes, of course the big final for the CWF Championship title between Duce Jones and Jace Valentine is still the big talk of the CWF, not necessarily the outcome, but how they got there! Charles State: When CEO Ryan Sunset decided to place himself into the match as guest referee, most were sure that it spelled doom for Valentine, but then it all turned out to be completely different, here’s a look at what happened last week at Evolution: Duce shows enough wherewithal to get his arms up, preventing the collision. Duce turns his back to Sunset, squaring his focus on Jace when he is stuck with a vicious lowblow from behind, courtesy of the CWF CEO. The crowd lets out an audible gasp, clearly shocked. The announce team goes quiet. Sunset flashes the crowd a wide smile as he is greeted with thunderous boos. He reaches his hand down to Jace and helps the Host with the Most back to his feet. Ryan points down at Duce, as he is on the canvas writhing in pain. Jace acknowledges, and flashes a smile as wide as Sunset's. Jace hits the mat, quickly grabbing Duce's head and neck and reapplying the Cupid's Chokehold as the crowd is defiant in their disapproval of how the match has turned out. Duce still continues to try to fight out of the patented submission hold, but he is draining fast. His body goes limp but you can still see some struggle left in the champ. Sunset inexplicably calls for the bell. Blake Church: Despite the months of animosities between the head honcho and the Jace, they seem to have found a, well, an agreement of some sorts that would give them both what they wanted, a symbiosis made in the darkest pits of hell. And it seems as if Sunset’s involvement is not over... Charles State: No, in a surprise move Ryan Sunset will be actually stepping into the ring with his Eternal Elisha and The Forsaken, after The Shadow called out Elisha at Modern Warfare after a monumental clash between the Chosen and the druids, leaving mayhem in its wake. Have a look here: Blake Church: It will be interesting to see, how someone who is not exactly known for his in-ring abilities will fare against two of the darkest characters CWF has on offer right now, especially with The Shadow coming in off a grueling victory over Lance LaRusso to capture the Impact Championship belt AND after having carried off Harley Hodge after his match with Ataxia. But we received word that originally Alex Cain was supposed to be representing the Eternals in this match, but he seems to have sustained an un specified injury in his steel cage victory over Jarvis King that is preventing him from wreaking more havoc this week. Charles State: As for Harley Hodge, so far there have been no reports, no news, no statements about the whereabouts of the Accelerator, so his fate is unknown, but usually if you have druids carry someone off, it is not a good sign. Blake Church: But to come back to the champion, he will be in action this week as well, in a non-title match, and one of the less obvious matchups, facing Stalker Knight and The Lost Soul in a triple threat match, some more cynic voices in the CWF Universe have likened it to “an easy night out”, but especially when dealing with someone like Stalker and his anger issues, anything can happen, especially since these two men have already almost had a clash in the first round of Modern Warfare. Charles State: But there also is some title action, when Crazy Chris will be defending his newest bounty, the revived Paramount title against Jay “Marksman” Mora, let’s have a look at the conclusion of the big six-man match: Blake Church: It was Chris’ big chance to step out of his brother’s shadow and he most definitely took it, but in CWF there is no time to rest on your laurels, because the Marksman has set his sights on his second shot to claim the belt, just in a bit of a more orderly fashion. Charles State: Another tight match will be for the number one contender spot for the big title beween Duce Jones and MJ Flair, with Flair edging out Freddie Styles last week in the epic clash between the runners up of the Alpha and Beta Block of the tournament. Will Flair continue her momentum and be in the Race for Jace sooner than everybody would have thought or will Jones manage to rebound and get another shot for the big gold? Blake Church: Speaking of Freddie Styles, he will be in a rebound match, so to say, meeting up with the Pansexual Playboy Lance LaRusso who lost his gold to The Shadow and has been on a somewhat rough and tumble ride in the past few weeks and will definitely be looking for some redemption. And maybe we will also catch a glimpse of how he liked his time at Indulgence, haha. Charles State: Well, I am not sure we really would want to catch a glimpse of that, to be honest, but we caught up with Freddie Styles earlier this week with a few questions about this match and also his involvement with the Eternals: Blake Church: Your next opponent Lance LaRusso has had a few, let's call it, issues of late. How do you intend to capitalize on his rather rocky recent past? Freddie Styles: He was a champion...so there’s talent there, and you gotta respect that. That being said, if he wants to stay in his white horse haze, then I have an easy night. Either way, high or sober, Lance Larusso is gonna catch these knees! Blake Church: You are part of the Eternals and have been for a while. Now you have voiced your dissatisfaction with your status within the group before and now with the inclusion of Jace Valentine, how have the dynamics changed for you? Freddie Styles: My dynamics haven’t changed. I’m at the bottom of priority list. Sunset and Elisha are off doing whatever it is they’re doing, Cain is old and doing old man things, and Jace is the golden child. I don’t have a real place in the Eternals other than to be a hired hand. They pay me well above what CWF pays me on contract, and I would have gotten to this point anyway with or without them. Jace being added just means that’s one more person that will be forced to open their eyes to the truth. I am the future of CWF! Blake Church: The CWF has been in an uproar in the last few weeks, where do you see your path leading you right now? Freddie Styles: Uproars are what I thrive in. Let it all burn, and I’ll be there when the ashes settle and the victors are standing amongst it all. My path is what it’s always been...towards the gold. And whoever gets between me and that goal will catch these knees. Charles State: Moving on there are still more matches for this coming stacked Evolution card, with Silas Artoria taking on Caledonia. Now these two (and by extension Autumn Raven and Eris respectively) have had their spats of late, so I think especially Caledonia will try to see to give Silas a more decisive piece of her mind. Blake Church: Well, Caledonia might have to be looking out for more people around the ring with the Lost Boys apparently having entered into some sort of coalition with Artoria and Autumn, something I still haven’t quite figured out, because they are a match made in, well, not quite sure where they make matches like that, but a roundhouse with padded walls might be a good starting point... Charles State: Which brings us to Mr. Artoria’s partner in crime, Autumn Raven, the Beautiful Psychopath is facing Dorian Hawkhurst, who has been leaving a very promising impression since he joined and he might become a force to be reckoned with rather sooner than later, if he can continue with his trajectory. Blake Church: But the Lost Boys might be busy on their own, facing off with the big returnees, the Anderson brothers, The Unstoppable Force, and it is going to be an interesting match up with the brothers being pretty much exactly what the Aussies have had their sights on since the beginning. Charles State: Anti-establishment, anti-American self-centeredness in this business, so a country-influenced hall of famer duo seems like the perfect target for them to prove a point against. But will they be able to fully focus with everything that has been going on around them of late with Artoria and Autumn on the one side, the Bright New Things on the other and themselves somewhere in the middle? Blake Church: And the card is being rounded off with the opener, featuring two of our latest superstars to join our ranks and who had been on the losing side of the Paramount battle, Azrael and Justice. Charles State: Both men have been off to a somewhat rocky start in CWF and at least one of them is going to see a change of their fortunes and prove that they are destined for higher things than what they have been able to show so far. Blake Church: One match that I would have loved to have seen this week would have been Big Sexay, another one of the big surprises we saw at Modern Warfare, squaring off against Harley Hodge, but since the Accelerator is somewhat indisposed this week, Sexay at least has a bit more time to get himself back in shape, because let’s face it, Hodge is a slightly different calibre than the Facetious One last week Charles State: So as you can see, we have a stacked card here again for our first post-”Modern Warfare” Evolution and plenty of dust to settle, or stir up, depending on where you are coming from. Blake Church: This is all we have time for today, even though the PPV is behind us, it does not mean that we have seen all of the repercussions come to pass, so make sure to tune in to Evolution 12 tomorrow, live from the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana! Charles State: We hope to be able to welcome you again next week, I am Charles State and this was CWF’s Church vs. State. Good evening.
