![]() Blake Church: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the first edition of "CWF Church & State", I'm Blake Church and this is my colleague Charles State. Charles State: Good evening and welcome to the CWF's new place to be for everything that has happened, is happening and will happen! Blake Church: Last week's Evolution has been an action-packed affair with the Modern Warfare quarter finals and the big match between reigning CWF champion Harley Hodge and Academy title holder Duce Jones. Charles State: It was a true clash of the champions and the main event kept any promises made in an epic clash that ended up with one of the biggest upsets in recent CWF history! Blake Church: The young challenger Duce Jones managed to overcome The Accelerator and now is holding both belts, but he is right back at it this week in a bout that has all the potential to be at least as glorious as the last one. Charles State: Yes. Freddie Styles, member of the Eternals will be stepping into the ring with him and you can be sure that he will not come alone, if recent developments are any indications. Blake Church: Oh yes, the Eternals have been showing up everywhere, backed by the new CEO of the CWF, Ryan Sunset, and they made it pretty clear that they will not stop at anything to achieve what they have set out to do, including brute force. Charles State: Here is some footage from the last show, where we could witness an epic battle between the Eternals, the Chosen, the mysterious druids, Jace Valentine and Amber Ryan in something that has been brewing for a while and is now coming to the surface. As soon as the match is over, the members of the Chosen at ringside jump the ramp. The scene dissolves into a huge brawl with the Chosen crash into the druids that are creating a barricade between them and the ring! Punches go flying, elbows and kicks fly with venomous hatred as the Chosen begin to overwhelm the druids. Amber Ryan and Eris roll into the ring to cover Jace and Caledonia, who have just competed in a hellacious Modern Warfare match. The ominous words of "Sunrise, Sunset" by Bright Eyes echo over the sound system as the crowd erupts with boos and jeers! Elisha, Freddie Styles, and a somewhat abnormal looking Alex Cain along with Stalker and Zara Knight all race towards the ring and towards a singular goal: Eliminate those in the ring. Quelch the opposition. Jim Gunt: I thought Sunset wanted fair competition! This is sickening! A knife edge chop from Alex Cain grounds Eris. Stalker and Zara Knight are on Jace like jackals. Freddie Styles works to quickly incapacitate Caledonia as the Eternals lay waste to their adversaries. Mike Rolash: It doesn't matter how many people you got out here! If Sunset wants you taken out, you'll be taken out! I love it! Amber Ryan comes face to face with Elisha. She swings wildly at him with a clothesline but the numbers game quickly overwhelm her as Styles tackles her to the ground. Caledonia and Eris are on their feet as they deliver dual standing drop kicks to Alex Cain, knocking him out of the ring where the Druids and the Chosen are still at each other's throats. Blake Church: It is going to be interesting to see, how the different factions are going to be playing out in the weeks go to come. Speaking of Jace Valentine, the Jace that runs the Place is meeting Mariella Jade Flair in his semi-final and she is not to be taken lightly, even though she is a newcomer to the scene. Charles State: Whoever manages to end the streak of the Eastern European monster named Elisha is an opponent to be reckoned with, let's have a look at what transpired at the last Evolution. Jim Gunt: Elisha with a running start! MJ MOVES OUT OF THE CORNER! It was far more damaging than it sounds. Elisha expects MJ to try to reverse his run like she did before, so he goes low. Unfortunately, MJ ducks out of the corner completely and Elisha runs shoulder first into the ringpost. Jim Gunt: MARIELLA JADE FLAIR HOOKS HIM FROM BEHIND! MORNINGSTAR! Mike Rolash: He won’t submit. I’m not that lucky. Jim Gunt: She drops him on his head and hooks a leg! ONE! TWO! THREE! Kickout! Jim Gunt: Is it… DING DING DING! Mike Rolash: I don’t believe it! Jim Gunt: Your winner and moving onto the semi finals of Modern Warfare….MJ FLAIR!! MJ FLAIR JUST ENDED ELISHA’S UNDEFEATED STREAK! Elisha kicked out at the last second, but it was a fraction of a second too late! The referee raises MJ’s hand in victory, while Elisha is sitting on the mat, shocked in disbelief! Blake Church: We have been able to catch up with Ms. Flair a little earlier. MJ, you did the unthinkable, you slayed the beast Elisha, how does it feel to come in and just tear through the establishment? Also when looking at your next opponent, Jace Valentine, the self proclaimed "New Age of Arrogance", the "Jace that Runs the Place", going with your past, someone like him should probably have a very special place in your heart? MJ Flair: The fact is that nobody's untouchable. Nobody's unbeatable. I look at it like this: I'm inexperienced. I'm young. I'm a woman, which means I'm shorter and lighter than the majority of the athletes I'm likely to face. To top it off, I'm completely new to the CWF. I have no business being in the finals of the Beta Block, but here I am. Elisha may be 'the beast' but he was just another opponent. Jace Valentine may run the place, but he's just another opponent. Victor Hugo once said, "He who is a legend in his own time is ruled by that legend." Elisha had no choice but to beat me - and he didn't. Jace has no choice but to beat me. Maybe he will, maybe he won't - but he has to. That's the difference between us. A name that means something can sometimes be more of a burden than a name that means nothing. As far as Jace 'having a special place in my heart'? Not sure what you mean. He seems like a nice enough guy and in another life we might be allies. For now, he's an opponent and I'm going to treat him like an opponent. Blake Church: And lastly, what is your impression of CWF so far? MJ Flair: With all of the factions, plotting, scheming, and betrayals, this feels less like a professional wrestling promotion at times, and more like Game of Rings. I'm just hoping not to be Ned Stark. Charles State: She will definitely be able to give Jace a run for his money, who would have thought she would make such an impact after just arriving at CWF a few weeks ago! Blake Church: And given what happened last week, as mentioned before, the Eternals are going to make their presence felt here as well, since Valentine dispatched their star player Chaolin Shan at Frozen Over, so there might be more going on than everybody bargained for. Charles State: Valentine vs. Caledonia was definitely one of the most contested matches of the show with the big favourite reeling more than once, she definitely had the fans on her side. Blake Church: The English Rose definitely showed her thorns and displayed a feisty side that we have not seen from her, she would definitely have deserved the win here. Charles State: Against Jace? No, he almost had her three times before he finally put her away! Blake Church: But how many people did not manage to get up from these moves in the past and given their height and weight difference, that was no mean feat! Charles State: Anyways… Also on the line was the Impact title between Highwaymen allies Lance LaRusso and Harvey Danger and the champion retained after a far more serious battle than we would have expected, given their long-standing alliance. Blake Church: Sunset Productions also had the antidote to one of the biggest threats in the CWF right now, the Almighty Purse of Mrs. Danger! Charles State chuckling: Yes, some bookies actually are taking bets on her being in the CWF title race pretty soon! But there was more action in that match than that with a special friend of Mr. LaRusso paying a little visit… The druid extends a hand and places an object in front of LaRusso, as Harvey is staying back, not sure of what is happening. The camera man comes over and shows that it is an immaculate black rose that is on the apron of the ring, when the druid pulls back his hood, Lance’s eyes growing wide. Jim Gunt: The Shadow! It is The Shadow! Where is security? Blake Church: Yes and that also brings us to the Antidote, The Forsaken, who are going to take on the Highwaymen of Harvey Danger, Lance LaRusso and The Lost Soul at the next Evolution, which could be a very interesting pairing! Charles State: The Highwaymen have been together for quite a while, so they know each other inside and out, even if The Lost Soul has not been as active of late, but this is definitely going to be an advantage for them! Blake Church: I disagree, they have been fighting each other twice now and the last match has shown some cracks in their relationship, plus The Lost Soul’s reliability is a big question mark. Charles State: Yes, because the Mannequin has proven to be such a reliable companion, my wager is that he will cost The Forsaken the match! Blake Church: More on next week’s show will come right after these messages from our newest official CWF sponsor… ![]() Charles State: Welcome back to Church vs. State, we are continuing our preview of Evolution 11, coming live from the Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah. Blake Church: The opening match could get a few people mormonal... Charles State: Blake, really? I thought you were above that... Blake Church: Well, excited then, because five tag teams are battling it out for a shot at the tag team championship title that the Bright Young Things Caledonia and Eris have been defending so bravely. Charles State: Yes, it seems like Ryan Sunset is trying to throw some of the lower card teams a bone to see, if any of them will rise to the occasion and so far it seems to be a troubled story. The Knights have yet to find their groove, the Moxleys are one step away from breaking apart, Demi and The Robot literally just met, the Danger Boiz are riddled with self doubt, even though winning their match against the Moxleys last week could work wonders and then we have one of the oddest couples CWF has ever seen. Blake Church: Well, one can argue that Silas Artoria with his “passenger” The Bloodletter and Autumn Raven are a threesome, but they seem to have forged a somewhat odd, yet oddly intriguing relationship that has a lot of potential, if they can stay this side of bat crap crazy, that is. Charles State: And we have not one, not two, not even three, but four new faces coming to CWF and celebrating their debut matches with Azrael, Kaden Vossk, Owen and Dorian Hawkhurst! Blake Church: I am not sure, where they all came from, but looks like Sunset forgot to close a door somewhere. Be it as it may, they all have something to prove and will be able to do so next Monday at Evolution 11. Charles State: Be there and be square and don’t make me come out and get you! Blake Church: This was Church vs. State, hope you will tune in next week, when we will gear up for the big bad PPV - CWF’s very own Modern Warfare!
