The glory of time zones. By Australian time, Sam Braxton and Dean Coulter arrived in Los Angeles, California at 1.30 in the morning of Thursday the 23rd of November. Whereas the local time was 6.30am Wednesday the 22nd. Setting foot onto the terminal in LAX it took considerable restraint for Dean not to fall to his knees and kiss the floor. Being stuck inside a plane for roughly 14 hours with an over-excited and over-stimulated Sam Braxton was a form of tortured you wouldn’t wish on even the most deplorable of war criminals. An iPad with archived CWF shows, matches, promos and bios had mitigated the behaviour somewhat. Besides Dean wanted a better idea of what he and Sam were getting into. However this had raised a few questions and as the two went about the motions of customs and luggage retrieval, Dean plucked up the courage to ask. “Hey Sam, quick question?” “Yeah Mate?" "Do you know anything about the CWF?" "Not really. I thought that's what you were doing on the plane. How was it? A shithouse I bet." Typical Sam. No real forethought. Just gets an idea and runs blindly with it. "Actually no. From what I saw, the CWF is a pioneer in professional wrestling here in the States." "What? Comparatively? That's like saying you're the smartest kid at retard camp." Truth be told, Dean had been impressed by what he had seen of the company. Definitely not a victim of the 'Sports Entertainment' pandemic that plagued most American companies these days. Which was both a good and bad thing for Sam and Dean. Good because it meant they could easily get the world-wide exposure they deserved and wanted. Bad because their crusade towards eliminating the sub-par product wasn't as infallible as they had hoped. "This is why it pays to research ahead." "Isn't that why I got you around?" Dean sighed. "The CWF looks to be a great company. Which means for us it's a bad company. Level of talent is commendable...for the most part. The match quality is high up there. They've got gimmick matches out the Wazoo, female competitors who regularly face-off against their male counterparts and even another Aussie." "What?!" "I know I said I enjoy a challenge, but this...it might be a bit much for either of us." "I should you slap you for such blasphemy! So we got our work cut out for us. That's nothing new." Dean shook his head as they stepped out of the airport and onto the streets of Los Angeles. This raised another issue. "Alright, next question. If the next CWF show is in Chicago, Illinois. Why did you book tickets to LA? It's on the other side of the country." Sam shrugged. "I just booked for the first name I recognised..." Dean faced palmed dramatically with a groan. "You had one job Sam...We set one foot out the airport and we're already lost, with a few days to make it across a country we barely know anything about, to check out a wrestling company that is most likely going to chew us up and spit us out before we can manage to do anything." "C'mon Mate. You worry too much." Dean hated being disorganised and unprepared. Afraid he might cause grievous bodily harm to hisdear friend, Dean instead focused his attention on finding a means to travel to Chicago. This time he would organise separate seats. They still had yet come up with a decent tag-team name. ...At what point was this supposed to be fun? |
