*Ding Dong Ding*

“Good morning passengers of United Airlines Flight UA840 to Los Angeles, your flight will now commence boarding. Please have your boarding passes ready and thank you for flying United Airlines. Have a safe journey.”

The boarding call brought Dean Coulter back to the present moment, to the all-familiar, and some would say cliche, scene of a busy airport gate. For Dean it had all happened so fast, in a near dream sequence, meeting up with Sam and getting caught up in his exuberance and the blink of an eye they were waiting to board a plane to America.
Dean wasn't sure how to feel about it all.

"Penny for your thoughts?"

Waiting to take their place in line Dean turned to his girlfriend, Jessica, who returned the gaze with worry. Clearly his conflict had been apparent on his face.

"I just...I don't know Jess. I've missed definitely being in the ring and am looking forward to new competition, that's for sure. But...there's this nagging doubt in the back of my mind. It doesn't feel right."

"You don't have to go through with this you know."

"I wish it were that simple..."

They both looked over to Sam Braxton, who danced the dance of the anxious and restless, fidgeting on the spot, as he waited for the queue to shift.

"Regardless of how I feel. Sam needs me."

"But I'm not worried about Sam. I'm worried about you."

"I'm sure he'd appreciate the sentiment."

"I'm serious Dean!"

Dean pulled Jessica closer and responded with a reassuring smile.

"He's many things, but he'd never do anything to compromise our friendship. It'll be fine...I'll be fine."

Dean was convincing himself as much as he was Jessica.
The matter somewhat resolved for now, they said their heartfelt goodbyes and shared a kiss.

"Oh come on!" In his impatience, Sam ruined the moment, interrupting their romantic moment. Dean turned to stare daggers into his friend, whilst Jessica smiled smugly.

"You're just jealous." She exclaimed.

"Besides. If you wanted to join in, you only needed to ask." Dean got a sharp elbow to the side from Jessica for his efforts.

"Mate. Don't make it weird...well weirder than it already is."

"Then go save us a place in line!"

Sam rolled his eyes and with a 'humph' he did just that, leaving Dean and Jess to wrap up their farewells.

It took a few moments but they eventually had their boarding passes scanned and motioned through the gate. Dean paused briefly, turning back to look at Jessica and everything he was leaving behind. Then he shifted his gaze back to Sam. They were close enough to be more akin to brothers then friends. They had grown up together, had been through alot and as much as he and Jess may give Sam a hard time it was often said that the two brought out the best of each other. In and out of the ring. Not that Dean would ever admit that.
Sam looked back quizzically. There was no denying that Sam wanted this, and badly.
With a sigh Dean quashed the nagging doubts running through his mind, after all he wasn’t doing it for himself, he was also doing it for Sam. They were in this together and that accounted for everything.

“Shall we?” Sam asked, inviting Dean to take point.

“We shall.”

Together the two found their seats and settled in. There was no backing down now. It was time to look forward.

"I GOT IT! We should call ourselves the Boys from Aus!"

Dean groaned. If there was nothing else certain, he was certain of this. It was going to be a looooooong flight.
