Team: I thought I might try my hand at Pokemon again. This has been my most successful team since I've started back. Bronzong @ Leftovers Ability: Levitate EVs: 252 HP/24 Atk/128 Def/72 SAtk/32 SDef Sassy nature (+SDef, -Spd) - Earthquake - Hidden Power [Ice] - Hypnosis - Stealth Rock With the mass of Sub Gengar leads lately, this hasn't been nearly as effective as I would have hoped. Earthquake and Hidden Power [Ice] provide nice coverage, as well as letting me easily take down opposing Gliscor and Garchomp. If the opponent leads with something with Taunt or Hypnosis, I am usually forced to go straight to Milotic or Rhyperior based on the situation. Because I am usually forced to switch so early, I am not able to set up Stealth Rocks first turn. However, after something else has absorbed the sleep, it is relatively easy to set up SR and put one of the opponent's Pokemon to sleep. Earthquake helps to prevent Jolteon or Tentacruel from setting up easily. --- Salamence (M) @ Choice Specs Ability: Intimidate EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Draco Meteor - Dragon Pulse - Fire Blast - Hydro Pump The basic SpecsMence with a Timid nature. This also doesn't seem to be working as well as early DP, but still functions pretty much the same. Predict the incoming switch and hit it hard. There isn't really anything else to say. Salamence helps take out Scizor and other such things. --- Milotic (F) @ Leftovers Ability: Marvel Scale EVs: 252 HP/164 Def/12 Spd/80 SDef Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk) - Surf - Toxic - Sleep Talk - Rest I absolutely love this thing. Usually this allows me to poison at least half of the opposing team. Surf easily takes down Gengar, while Toxic allows me to take down Swampert 100% of the time. Otherwise, Swampert would have a field day with this team. The EVs allow it to outspeed things hanging around 200, along with achieving an overall balance of Special and Physical Defense. This is what usually takes status for the team. --- Cresselia (F) @ Leftovers Ability: Levitate EVs: 204 HP/252 Def/52 SDef Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk) - Reflect / Toxic - Ice Beam - Moonlight - Psychic I needed something to stop Infernape from walking all over the team, and this was the simplest answer. Reflect comes in handy every once in a while, but now I am thinking that Toxic would be more useful to end Blissey stall wars if they appear. Reflect also helps in taking on Outrage Garchomp. --- Rhyperior (M) @ Life Orb Ability: Solid Rock EVs: 180 HP/92 Atk/216 Def/20 Spd Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Rest - Sleep Talk - Stone Edge - Earthquake Beast. Ground / Rock for decent coverage and Restalk to take status. Solid Rock allows it to take Earthquakes from things like Gliscor and hit them pretty hard in return. Life Orb gives it the kick it needs to send many things into KO range. --- Dusknoir (M) @ Leftovers Ability: Pressure EVs: 252 HP/36 Atk/76 Def/8 Spd/136 SDef Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk) - Thunderpunch - Will-o-wisp - Pain Split - Fire Punch This is the team member that I am the most hesitant about using. I needed something that could easily take on Heracross as well as Gyarados. This and Weezing were the only things that came to mind, and I thought that having something else that could take Special hits decently wouldn't hurt. This fails to 2HKO some Bulky Gyarados after Intimidate, which is rather upsetting. Will-o-Wisp helps with taking down other physical threats and makes things like Gliscor and Hippowdon useless after they set up Stealth Rock. If you could suggest anything that fulfills the aforementioned criteria, then I would be really grateful. --- Threats: Gyarados:I can sometimes get in a Toxic from Milotic on the primary Dragon Dance turn, and then somehow stall it out with Cresselia and Dusknoir, but that isn't a very efficient strategy. I really need help fixing this problem. Taunt royally screws up my attempts to WoW it. Azelf: Nasty Plot variants tend to run over this team. I'm not really sure how to remedy this problem either. Milotic is 2HKOed by NP Psychic and nothing else on the team can really take a hit. I don't think there is a good way to fix this problem without replacing an entire member of the team. Tyranitar: I think CBTar is the main issue here. Nothing on the team likes taking CBCrunch or Stone Edge. I don't really have a reliable way to take it down either. Blissey: Yeah, I managed to make a team that has issues with Blissey. The complete absence of fighting attacks on this team is a real downer. Nothing on the team bar Rhyperior (who really hates taking Ice Beams) can KO Blissey without creating a drawn out toxic induced stall war. Any advice on easily fixing this problem is appreciated. --------------- I'm open to all advice and am willing to replace team members, so thanks for reading. |
