![]() Type Fighting Base Stats 144 HP/120 Atk/60 Def/40 S.Atk/60 S.Def/50 Spd Traits Guts-When Paralyzed, Poisoned or Burned, attack power is multiplied by 1.5. It also negates the attack drop from Burn. Thick Fat-Damage from Fire or Ice attacks are resisted Weaknesses and Resistances Resists Bug X 1 Rock X 1 Dark X1 Fire and Ice X 1 if Thick Fat is the trait Weaknesses Psychic X 1 Flying X 1 Movesets Choice Band Hariyama @ Choice Band Ability: Guts EVs: 124 HP/216 Atk/168 Spd Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Cross Chop/Close Combat - Stone Edge/Thunder Punch - Ice Punch - Payback Hits really hard with base 120 attack. Inferior to Machamp, which has the same moves but more power. The speed EVs outrun Skarmory by 2 points, so some Magnezones as well. Payback hits faster things that try to take Hariyama out with force. Cross Chop or Close Combat is down to preferance. Lower accuracy and less power for a high critical hit ratio, or higher power and accuracy with a defense lowering effect, it is your choice. Ice Punch hits Gliscor, as well as the 4x weak dragons. Stone Edge hits Gyarados, as does Thunder Punch. Rest Talker Hariyama @ Leftovers Ability: Guts/Thick Fat EVs: 160 HP/252 Def/96 S.Def Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk) - Rest - Sleep Talk - Cross Chop/Force Palm - Stone Edge/Whirlwind Once again, inferior to Machamp. The only thing it has over Machamp is Thick Fat. EVs allow for great survivability, and the attack allows it to 1hko 4 hp/min Tyranitar with Force Palm. Whirlwind can go over Stone Edge, but it will not be too useful considering its shit speed. Bellydrummer Hariyama @ Leftovers Ability: Guts EVs: 120 HP/136 Atk/252 Spd Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Ice Punch/Stone Edge/Thunder Punch - Brick Break/Force Palm - Bullet Punch/Whirlwind - Belly Drum Kind of novelty, but it could work. Belly Drum up, then try to sweep. Close Combat and Cross Chop are not mentioned as the Defence loss and accuracy loss are really damaging on this set. Bullet Punch is important for priority, pity it didn't get Mach Punch. Ice Punch hits Gliscor, Stone Edge has great coverage with Fighting, Thunder Punch hits Gyarados. The speed means that it outruns most CBtar. The OU Physical Counter Hariyama @ Leftovers Ability: Thick Fat EVs: 160 HP/96 Atk/252 Def Adamant/Impish nature (+Atk/+Def, -SAtk) - Knock Off - Force Palm - Stone Edge/Ice Punch - Bullet Punch Beats all versions of Tyranitar, Weavile and alot of other OU pokemon. No pokemon likes their item removed, and it can really piss off the Cresselia that come in to wall you. Force Palm is the main attacking move, really useful with paralysis side effect as well. Stone Edge hits flyers that come in to beat you, and Bullet Punch picks off random Weaviles/fast shit. Counters Cresselia beats all verions, but will not like a CB Payback, possibly guts boosted. Most bulky psychics are counters, so Uxie, Mesperit, Celebi, Slowbro and Claydol all work. But each have to watch out for certain moves, and none like their item being smacked off of them. Most non-fighting weak steels can wall it effectively. Forretress, Skarmory, Bronzong, Scizor and Jirachi can all beat it down whilst taking low amount of damage> They have to be wary of CB Close Combats or Fire Punches. Gliscor and Weezing are also counters, unless Hariyama has Ice Punch, in which case Gliscor will die. Other Options Fire Punch allows it to hit Bronzong, Scizor, Heracross, Jirachi and Forretress for super effective damage. But a STAB Close Combat or Cross Chop is stronger or as strong as a super effective Fire Punch, so it is only really useful for Forretress, Scizor and Heracross. Counter works well with his huge HP. Flame Orbed Guts Facade hits alot of stuff hard, but you lose alot of survivability without leftovers. Wake-Up Slap can mess with Restalkers, and Toxic can mess with walls. Whirlwind can be used if you lack a phazer. Opinion One of my favourite pokemon. Really needs more use. Being one of the best Tyranitar counter in the game is a tough thing for anything to say. Huge HP and good attack make it awesome. Pity about its average defences, but its awesome HP definitely makes up for that. |

Impish is required on Sleep Talk. List Whirlwind as an option over Stone Edge. More speed would be more beneficial on the Belly Drum set. Base 50 Spd Jolly will be able to outrun shit like Adamant Tyranitar etc. List Whirlwind as an option there as well. Oh, and max Attack is an overkill (on any set). Impish on the last set as well. List Ice Punch over Stone Edge as another option. The first EV set you listed makes most out of defence, which is what you're looking for. |

Jolly Yama only gets 218 speed, which is a shame. How much attack is needed? |

Choice Band Tyranitar only uses between 206 and 210 Spd. Choice Band one needs 216 tops. You can drop it down further though. Belly Drum doesn't need more than 136 EVs in Atk. oh, and the Rest Talker would benefit more from the 96 EVs in SDef - base 120 is enough to hit what it needs to (especially if it's one with Guts). Change the natures as well. |

Only other thing I don't like is this. Considering Hippo counters the Physical one better than this, as does Machamp, and mixed sets are countered better by Machamp too, this isn't true. You're also confusing optinion for fact, and in this case untrue fact LOL. Otherwise it's a-ok. |
