It would be cool if you guys could go to the thread at the ijji forums and show support if you love Gunster. It would really help our cause. The wall of text that I wrote is below, so if you want to read, then read on. Sure, I will be whining in this thread about how mad I am that they took it off, but this is more of an appeal to the mods, GMs, admins, and people that hate or have never heard of Gunster. For those of you that don't know, Gunster is a 2D run-n-gun sidescroller. There are three modes of play: Training Mode (you start out in this to get your Mission License, which is needed to reach the next mode), Mission Mode (you, and if you want, two others team up to complete stages and defeat the boss), and Battle Mode. In Battle Mode, you take on other players in a free-for-all match, 4v4 team matches, survival FFA/teams, and Capture the Flag. Gunster is a great game. When it was released, it went over 1,000 players. It was new, fun, and exciting. But then the impossible happened. iGunz was actually going to full release. As soon as GunZ was released, the players dropped from over 1,000 to a measly 250. Even Gunbound, the most popular game there, was almost killed. From there things went downhill. The inactivity made things a bit dull, but it was fun. One thing that irked us, however, was the lack of updates. Where was Capture the Flag? New characters? More items? And then comes the hacking. The hacking in Gunster was legendary. Machine gun sniper anyone? How about boss monster rapid fire missile launchers? Where was the anti-hack ijji?! I think Gunster died because of bad management. If this was managed better, it would have succeeded. Let me list some of the things that they did wrong with Gunster: -No Anti-hack program Seriously, you guys didn't think anti-hack programs were necessary for this? -A lack of updates You gotta keep people interested. Capture the flag was so hyped up, but we never got to see it -No events All we got was a stupid special Christmas map with only one weapon, and snowball grenades -Acquisition of GunZ As soon as Gunz came out, it was over. It stole all our members. -Rampant hacking Even with all the complaints, screenshots, and videos, it didn't seem like ANYTHING was being done to stop this If you want an example of great management, look at Soldier Front. It had about 1,500 average, but the events brought it up. For example, the tournament where you invite people to ijji to join your team. That was INGENIOUS. Not only did it bring new players to ijji, it brought players to Soldier Front. Why wasn't any kind of event done on Gunster? People need incentive to try it out. Us Gunster fans have three options: Migrate to Gunstrike, migrate to Soldat, or get over Gunster Migrate to Gunstrike Gunstrike is the Japanese version of Gunster. I believe it is fully released and is pretty bad-************. There is only one problem. It's the JAPANESE version! Not only will we not understand, we will have ungodly amounts of lag. On the plus side, Gunstrike has a huge following seeing as it has succeeded in staying alive. Migrate to Soldat What is so great about Soldat? I am an avid Soldat player myself, and i can say that Gunster surpasses it in every way. Gunster's weapons are superior (shotgun and sniper rifle, anyone?), the graphics are better, better jumping and booster, and there is actually support behind Gunster finance-wise. Plus, why would a Gunster fan abandon it to play Soldat with Gunster around? Get over Gunster We tried. We really tried. This game was just too good to forget about it. It obviously has a dedicated fan base. Look at all those threads asking to bring it back (this one included). It is very fun and has immense potential. What potential? People are starting to get bored of the major games. Gunbound, Gunz, and Soldier Front are fun, but they have been there long enough for people to start losing interest. Luminary isn't doing too good, and Kwon Ho was also taken off. There is obviously a need for a new game, why not try Gunster again? Even if you don't want to bring it back, at least make Gunstrike accessible to those who don't want lag. We would like some word on the status of Gunster. Is there any way, anything that we can do to bring it back. I would gladly pay for this game. Please, all we want is some kind of word and an explanation of why it was taken off. Did I hit it dead-on? Do we have a chance at getting it back? Do you guys care? The only reason our voice has not been heard, is our lack of organization. We must rally together and unite. If we combine our voice, us Gunster fans have a chance of being heard. Don't let this thread die. DO NOT LET IT GET UNDER PAGE TWO!! Don't degenerate into "gunster rox!/gunster sucks lol" posts. This is to rally support to the cause. Give convincing arguments to people that don't like/never played Gunster. Put the thread link in your signature and posts in other sections. Post the thread and appeal in any other forums you go to. But make sure it is only ONE thread! Remember, keep this thread alive! The game looks pretty fun. Graphics look pretty snazzy, and the combat reminds me of a Megaman Zero game that's like, cooler. But, I've learned that online Petitions are pretty useless nowadays. I signed a petition to deport all Emo kids to Cuba, but Congress hasn't yet considered drawing up the Bill. But I'll look into this more. |
