GROUNDER IN A COAT WITH A BURNING NOSE

Got it today, and to be frank, I don't like it. As I suspected, I'm too used to F-Zero, and that's what most of these arguments are based on, so you can ignore those ones if you're expecting this to be an accurate review. This is what is stopping me from enjoying it:

1) Controls. The last MK game I played was MKDD, and that actually worked in the way of controls. Firstly, the Wii Wheel. That is just stupid. Whenever I try to drift, it drifts me the wrong way and into a wall, and when I do get it right, it's almost impossible to get the mini turbo because of the steering method. And the GCN controller isn't much better. Instead of being able to use both L and R to drift, Nintendo set L as the button to use items, which is not easy to get used to. I often end up turning really awkwardly or wasting an item by pressing L to get around that tight left bend. That, and I keep pressing Y to try and use my items, which I guess is reminiscent of F-Zero.

2) The tracks. Firstly, because you can't actually die in this, there are far more obstacles than in F0. But you don't get that feeling that you've beaten a more challenging course, because compared to F0, the vehicles are much, much slower and that means obstacles are easier to avoid.

3) I keep getting the urge to bash people in the side and get them out of the race, but of course, that doesn't happen in Mario Kart.

4) In F0, there is never a situation where you are in first place, right in front of the finish line, with nothing in front of you, but then something hits you and you suddenly stop, while 75% of the other characters overtake you.

5) Funky Kong is an unlockable, and I don't have him yet. ):<
