Hi friends! Before I post a recipe I would like to tell u a little about myself. I have been pretty much away from my parents in the last 9 to 10 years. First I left Kuwait and went to India for studies for 5 years and then I came to USA. Jala khana kha kha ke ji bhar gaya and buying food from restaurants is a bit too expensive. Finally I decided to learn cooking from internet and since then internet has been my biggest help in cooking nice delicious and unburnt food! ..lol However I dont always have in my house what the recipe requires and im a late night person, its kinda strange but I mostly cook, eat, draw and paint, etc...at late nights when the stores are closed. So eventually I come up with my own recipes with a little help from the internet. Here is one such recipe when I was starving one night and didnt have nothing in the house but a can of chickpeas/garbanzo beans/cooked or boiled chana. Ingredients- 1 can Garbanzo beans or boiled tender chana(16oz/1lb) 1/4 cup Green onions, chopped 1/4 cup Tomato, chopped A pinch Garlic powder/paste 1/2 cup Red Pasta sauce/ 1/2 tsp tomato paste 1/4 tsp Hot sauce 1 tbsp Oil 1/2 cup Curd/plain yoghurt (u can add less or more curd according to the consistency u prefer) Salt to taste A pinch of each listed below - turmeric powder cumin powder red chilli powder dried oregano/parsley/mint (whatever herb available) curry powder and a very tiny pinch of garam masala * if u prefer very spicy food u can add half of a very finely chopped green hot pepper and add them to the pan along with the green onions. Directions - Heat oil in a pan. Add green onions. When the onions start getting soft or translucent (in about 2mins)add tomatoes.Stir. After a min. add garlic, and as soon as it starts sticking to the pan add chickpeas (drained) Keep stiring as u add the pasta sauce, hot sauce, all the six spices mentioned above with some salt and lastly add the curd. Stir well and bring it to a boil before u take it off the stove. This tastes good with fresh soft puris or white cooked rice and fried drumsticks/chicken legs. Enjoy! |
