;) For me I think the night of the Huntball episode. Because it states for the first time, in my opinion, how they feel about one another. I sometimes wonder what had happened if Richard agreed to stay for a night cap.. |

Pinpointing an episdode as my favorite is a difficult job. I absolutely adore them all. But there are scenes that I would categorize as favorites. The first is in The Tramp where Richard and Audrey are seated in the lounge of the old lodge. Audrey is telling Richard why Smith is his responsibility. But she isn't being haughty or snobbish or anything like that. Just a normal conversation one would expect to see between a...dare I say...husband and wife. I think it really gave a glimpse into what life would be like once those two finally got together. I've got others, but I'll save them for another time. Gotta fly! Dawn |

I agree with Dawn that this is hard. If I had to pick just one, I guess it would be the Bee Eater episode. In that one Audrey finally lets Richard see that her feelings for him have changed when she says she is looking forward to sentry duty with him. It also shows how obvious their feelings are to other people when the brigadier uses that knowledge to get what he wants and Marjory can't deny that he is right even though she doesn't like it. I only wish we had had a chance to see them together that night. |

Margaret, I couldn't agree more. I think there was just such a strong current of let's get our feelings out in the open and then they backpedal again. And just like the Christmas episode where we didn't get to see what went on in the closet under the stairs...I so wish we could have seen that guard duty scene! Speaking of backpedalling, that brings me to another favorite series of scenes. In the episode with Madamoiselle DuToit... I love the scene where they are signing the contracts. Notice how Audrey reacts when DuToit talks about business being for the boardroom and not the bedroom? Audrey seems a little uncomfortable but there is also a sense of longing in that scene. And then at the end when Richard comes within a hairbreath of asking her about following Madamoiselle DuToit's suggestion to consider making their relationship the real thing. Another near miss. I've just watched the Business Trouble episode again. I just love the scene with Audrey and Richard at Perigrin's Folly. That look on Audrey's face when Richard tells her he might have to leave Grantleigh just tells so much about how she really feels about him. And the prospect of losing him from her life. Sabra |
