AB 1253 Bill to Deregulate (Eliminate) Stripers

So it looks like AB 1253 will heard by the Assembly Water, Parks and Wildlife Committee on April 28. I'm not exactly sure what "heard" means but April 28th is definitely the deadline to have any letters sent.

Again this is a bill that would lift the limit on striped bass and divert any funding that would go towards striper managment. Basically it's meant to kill off striped bass.

Here is an article by the CSPA about it:

Here are the latest instructions and sample letters provided by the CSPA (they're heading a letter writting campaign):

http://www.calsport.org/3-31-09a.htm

Write one letter or fax to :

Jared Huffman (D)
State Capitol
P.O. Box 942849
Sacramento, CA 94249-0006
Tel: (916) 319-2006
Fax: (916) 319-2106

They say that emails will not be taken into account.

If you live in the district of one of the other committee members you can write to them. There's no point of wrtiting if you don't live in their district.

It sounds like at the begining of the hearing they give the tally of all of the letters for or against so the more against the better.

And largemouth are next. Here is a letter from Feinstein to the DFG:

And here is the CSPA's reply.
