Cooch fishes all over but he lives/guides on the Delta. I know alot of guys that live and guide on Clear Lake and i have never heard of anyone catching 14DD's in one month.

I am sure that this happens all the time at clearlake. If you live there & guide there.

I never said the delta does not suck (well maybe once or twice. LoL), But what I meant was that it is Ugly & a boring (non-relaxing place to fish) for me anyway. but ya it is the only real other place besides clearlake you can catch these big fish often in N-Calli. But I would have to disagree with you about the big fish only here. more people in our club have caught fish weighing over 5 pounds at clearlake in the last 2 years than they did in the delta. ya one or two people have caught the big one over 10 pounds. but more fish over 5 pounds are cught at clearlake & you do not have to worry about stupid skiers flying by you & missing you by only 5 to 10 feet.

that is right. but none of us could compare to someone like the people who fish there the majority of the time. And mabey they should hold the club classic somewhere else because I know there are a few clubs that only fish the delta and that is an unfair advantage.

I wonder what would happen if they fished other places other than the Delta.

I was just reading the forums and this topic caught my eye.

I live in Tracy and have fished nothing but the Delta for some time now but I would never put myself in the same class as alot of these guys who are fishing it 200 or more days a year. Some of these guys are on a first name basis with these fish (Cooch, Dee, Bobby, Randy.......).
In fact I have watched many guys who don't even live in California spend one week prefishing it and they do extremely well in their tournament.

The Delta is a very interesting place if can open your eyes to what is around you other than just dirty water and levees. They grow just about everything out there AND just the thought of over a thousand miles of water ways mostly man made is just mind blowing to me. Oh and where can you fish and see as much wildlife as you can out on the Delta? Not many places that I can think of.

One reason I wanted to join BB was so I could learn the lakes and how to fish them.
I am a Delta Rat at heart but I am looking forward to fishing lakes with you all and sharpening my skills to get better at this sport we are all addicted to. :P

:o  hhhhmmmm maybe I should have waited till after I got voted in the post this? lol
