Let darkness take you...

Name: Kurosaki Ichigo Age: Fifteen Gender: Male Race: Human / Shinigami Character Appearance: Ichigo is a tall, lean high school student with bizarre and yet natural orange hair that’s always in a spiky style. His face seems to have a perpetual scowl and his eyebrows are constantly kept furrowed, giving him a constantly stern demeanor. His gray sights are often intense, especially in battle as he stares down an enemy. For normal clothing attire, he often wears his school uniform: A gray blazer with matching pants, along with an underlying blue t-shirt with a white collar. At least this is the clothing he arrived in the Anime Reality House while wearing and is one of his few available pieces of clothing. On the other hand, his appearance as a Shinigami is always the same, standard black robes with his zanpakuto strapped to his back. Character Personality: Ichigo puts up the initial front of being a lone wolf, appearing to be a silent tough guy and enjoying the false cover. Underneath all of that, he’s actually a rather compassionate person, determined and driven to do the right thing in any given situation. He is also a rather bright individual, the fact being revealed when he scored in top fifty of his school. Those who get close enough to him know about this deeper side to his personality and recognize his resolve and endurance. He always tries to push himself forward, especially when the need for it is imminent and that has helped him in hurtling all obstacles in his path to becoming a powerful Shinigami on the same playing level as captains. Character History: Kurosaki Ichigo was originally somewhat of a “momma’s boy,” always outwardly happy and kind. When he was young, his mother would take him to a dojo to learn karate, his first experience with fighting in what would become a long trend. He was still young with his mother died, the true cause of her death unknown to him until he met her killer, a powerful hollow by the name of Grand Fisher. This event changed the Kurosaki household quite a bit and especially with Ichigo, who originally blamed himself for her death. During his school years, Ichigo was caught up in many school brawls with various punks and bullies who disliked his natural, yet unusual, orange hair. The experiences turned him into an outwardly-appearing silent tough guy and began to give people the wrong impression of who he really was. During these combative times was when he met Chad, a large and strong guy who wouldn’t use his gifts to protect himself and because of that took a lot of beatings and abuse. The two became friends and promised each other the watch the others’ back from then on. During his high school years, Ichigo met the Shinigami named Kuchiki Rukia, who was at the time assigned to his home community of Karakura Town. Having had the ability to see ghosts from a young age, he surprised the Soul Reaper by his spiritual awareness. While interfering with her work in hunting hollows, Ichigo got Rukia wounded and she ended up having to transfer her powers to him. In doing so, he was able to slay the hollow but was stuck with the gift and had to continue the career of Shinigami with Rukia by his side, who couldn’t return to Soul Society until her powers returned. This period didn’t last long, when a pair of Shinigami by the names of Byakuya and Renji, a brother and a childhood friend, came searching for their comrade only to find that she had broken Soul Society law by giving her powers to a mortal. Powerless to stop them, Ichigo was left battered and near to dying as they took Rukia back to be executed. Fortunately he was found by a recent acquaintance by the name of Urahara saves him and afterwards trains him, helping prepare him for traveling to Soul Society to rescue Rukia. Along with a handful of allies, he leaves the human realm on his quest to help his captured friend. The first attempted rescue brings them to Rukia, after several battles including a reencounter with Renji, but they are forced to retreat and leave her behind when the Shinigami Captain and brother to the prisoner, Kuchiki Byakuya, arrives on scene. Ichigo is forced to train once more, so as to unlock his zanpakuto’s Bankai and be able to compete with the powerful captain-class of shinigami. With this new boon achieved, a second rescue operation is attempted, having better results as Ichigo battles and defeats Byakuya in a duel while Renji, who finally realizes that he can’t let Rukia die, takes her away during the action. Unfortunately, at this time a plot under the influence of Shinigami Captain Aizen shifts into full swing and the situation takes on a completely new spin. In the end, Aizen leaves Soul Society with the surprising help of hollows and the heroes are allowed a breather. Rukia stays behind, having been relieved of her charges after the incident, and Ichigo returns to the living world with the friends he brought along for aid. Before leaving, he receives a medallion representing himself as on official Substitute Shinigami who is recognized by Soul Society as an ally and companion. Since returning to his home town of Karakura, Ichigo has retained a normal life for a high school student / Substitute Shinigami, keeping up on his school work while battling it out with hollows. Recently however, he was mysteriously swept away from out of his bed by a black rift, taking him to a new world unlike anything else he’s seen before. Pets/Creatures: Kon - A modified soul that looks like a gumball, he can be inserted into any body without a soul and was originally created to fight hollows with special abnormal enhancements to his feet. He normally resides inside of a stuffed lion, but occasionally resides in Ichigo’s body when he needs someone else to replace his soul during Shinigami work. He has an aggressive attitude and is quite the womanizer, oftentimes leaping recklessly for a lady’s bosom without any sign of modesty. Weapons: Zangetsu (Moon Cutter) - All Shinigami have a special blade called a Zanpakuto that is the partner they carry into battle. This sword is not so much a tool or weapon as an ally to its wielder and each possesses an inner spirit of sorts that represents its psyche. By becoming fully in sync with their zanpakuto and learning their names, Shinigami can bring about fantastic and terrifying powers in the form of two stages that each sword has. These two stages are called Shikai and Bankai, or Initial Release and Final Release. When not in battle, a Shinigami typically keeps their sword in a sealed form. While Zangetsu originally had a sealed form before Ichigo learned of its name, ever since it was brought into its Initial Release it hasn’t felt like reverting down a rank. Its Shikai form resembles that of a giant cleaver as tall as he is, black in hue with a silver edge, and lacking a hilt guard. The hilt is wrapped in white cloth that also hangs off the end as a tassel. When not in combat, the wrappings grow to encompass and cover much of the blade while its carried on his back. The cloth can also be used in combat to flail the sword about like a deadly, razor-edged top. A special ability of this form is Getsuga Tensho, translated to Moon Sky-Piercing Fang, which sends out bursts of concentrated spirit energy from the blade’s tip that takes on the appearance of a blue crescent moon. The Bankai stage of Ichigo’s zanpakuto has a new name, Tensa Zangetsu or Heavenly Chains Moon Cutter. It undergoes a considerable shrink in size and takes on a new appearance. Turning into a black-bladed nodachi, or Japanese long sword, it obtains a hilt guard in the shape of a Swastika or Manji. A black chain also hangs from the end of the hilt, replacing the cloth as the sword’s tassel. This ascension does more than just change his sword, surprising enough, but also his attire. Replacing the Shinigami robes that he commonly wears, he now sports a long sleeved and ankle-length coat, black like his blade and with a crimson lining underneath. This coat is closed at the chest, but left open to move freely the rest of the way down. Along with the changed appearance of both zanpakuto and Shinigami, the Bankai transformation also grants significant powers to its wielder. In this form, Ichigo’s powers are greatly compressed. This grants him vastly enhanced speed, agility and reflexes. The enhancement is great enough to surpass even the Flash Steps technique. His Getsuga Tensho technique is also improved, taking on a black and red color and becoming much more powerful. This upgraded attack can also now be guided and directed by the user’s will Special Abilities/Powers: The power of a Shinigami comes from spiritual energy. Kurosaki Ichigo has more than most, enough to even use his power in concentrated bursts of energy from his sword. The vast taps of spirit power, along with his stubbornness, also grant him heightened endurance, allowing him to oftentimes get up again and again even after taking a beating. Even before he had obtained special powers, he was still a tough character to take on in a fight. Trained in martial arts from a young age and having to go up against countless bullies having a problem with his naturally orange hair, he had to keep in top form at all times. Because of this, he doesn’t even need to become a Shinigami to give many normal person a tough fight. Beyond his unnaturally high spirit energy and fighting know-how, Ichigo also has various other talents and abilities. Inner Hollow - From his early training with Urahara, Ichigo has a hollow spirit inside of him. Because of this, there is a darker side to the young Shinigami that is constantly trying to work its way to the surface, oftentimes in the heat of battle and especially when his life is in imminent danger. At this point a jagged piece from the originally full mask covers the left side of his face and his eyes turn a toxic yellow. An entirely new personality is released from the transformation, in which an evil entity surfaces and takes over. This ‘Hollow Ichigo’ is oftentimes relentless and deranged in his attacking style, though a very knowledgeable fighter, never letting up. He fights for the enjoyment of it and commonly mocks his host and opponents for being weaker than he is. He also obtains hollow-enhanced strength and speed from the transformation. Shunpo (Flash Steps) - A movement-related technique that allows the user to move quickly at high speeds, seemingly in a flash of time. Though not as fast as when using his Bankai, Ichigo makes impressive and masterful use of this ability while battling it out with his sword’s Shikai form. Spirit Form - Ichigo can’t use his full powers as a Shinigami unless he is a soul standing outside of his mortal shell. Originally he needed his partner Rukia to extract him from his human body by pushing him free with a Skull Glove. It wasn’t long before he got a hold of an artificial soul that he could pop into his mouth and free himself without Rukia’s help by replacing his soul with another. He named it Kon and still uses it on occasion. He has recently come into possession of a special medallion, given to him by soul society as a sign that they recognize him as a Substitute Shinigami. This is more than decoration, because he can also touch it and will himself free from his body at any time. While his body won’t have a new soul replacing his own, the pendant is a way to quickly extract his soul when there is a need to be fast. Quirks: Ichigo’s favorites foods are chocolate and spicy stuff. Nude or immodestly dressed women make him feel uncomfortable. The person he admires most is William Shakespeare.
