Hi guys, I'm pretty new to the forums here, and wanted to contribute a bit. I've been hosting gaming server for various games (bf2/minecraft/ random indie games) And had gone through several hosts. Along with webhosting and CMS hosting I've had to figure out for myself what is good in a host. Recently I've left my very professional host provider (OVH.com well prices for what you get, excellent customer service). I've moved my services over to a dedicated server instead of VPS as my user count was through the roof and lagging services. The host I'm using now is https://www.wholesaleinternet.net/ I read their reviews before taking the plunge and everything I read was highly recommending them. I went with their 42 dollar plan for dedicated servers https://www.wholesaleinternet.net/dedicated/ . I f I were to get a similar plan, but with the OVH.com host it would have cost me 140$ a month. At 42 dollars the only difference between the two as far as I can tell is the support. They offer no support for operations of servers. If you have difficulties with your server they can reset it to the state that you received it as. I know with most people who are hosting servers, they know their stuff so this shouldn't be a problem. Personally I feel that the trade off in cost and support is more than fair. Thanks for reading, my goal of posting this was to let people know about cheaper alternatives to other host providers. When it comes to online games, no one wants to pay for the entire hosting cost on their own, especially since there are many people who benefit from the game being hosted. I'm very interested in reading what the thoughts are from all of you, please share any hosting experiences you've had, good or bad. Additionally this tropic could include monetization, accepting donations to help pay for publicly provided game server hosting. Thank's again for reading.

The Angels of Fire have been hosted on Escaped Turkey servers for over 10 years. The original price we paid was $100 a month for a server, those prices dropped in less than half a year. Currently we have 7 servers available. As a Moderator, I have seen very little need in the way of game hosting support required as previous moderators made clear tutorials and standard hosting procedures for each game as well as the popular mod installation. The company has in the past year or two switched owners, which has resulted in a longer response time from the host on server tickets. However, the new host honors agreements made with customers by the original owner. That being said, you won't hear me complaining about ET servers. :D
Our webserver is hosted out of the UK by another company, they have also been quite good to the AoF clan over the past 8 years or so that we have been using them. Quick response time from the host on critical and non-critical matters, one of which was a back end setting change they did for us that allowed our Wiki to function properly after the Wiki software's recent update.
Your business venture sounds like great fun and a great opportunity for those out there in need of a host with good support at a fair price.
We wish you luck!
